I bought the exact same guitar about three years back. I re-reliced it as the original relicing was poor and fake. It is a little more natural now. I also replaced the pickups with Fender 57/62s, which included a turquoise pick guard. I have nicer guitars, even a Fender Strat, but THIS is my go to. Partially because I don't have to worry about that much, but more importantly because...it just feels so right. Mine is more blue-green than yours. I am glad to see how much you are enjoying it. I am a fan of this one. EDIT: Additionally, regardless of the shuffling this one will stay in my collection for various reasons.
Thanks for your comment. Vintage's Pro Shop allows for any pickups to be used so I would be tempted to upgrade the pickups. As a guitar of this price though it is awesome and I keep picking it up. It's a shame that it is a loaner!
Thank you for talking about the tuners . I'll make sure to do what you do and I'm sure it will not cause any problem . Some people can be unbelievably rude .
I've had 4 of these before and still got 2. One is very good and the one set up by Sam Deeks is excellent. Check out the V6 used. The red one I have (the excellent one) cost me only £130 and it came with a Gator hard case!
These are definitely quality guitars.. I used to sell most of their range...The Wilkinson hardware is mostly ok... One of their best ever guitars is the Les Paul greeny take Lemon Drop.. Especially the ones before they changed to the funky neck heel and the subtle changes to the body curves...
Don't worry about the negative comments these are great guitars I own a V6P with 3 Wilkinson Stacked P90'S it's a heavy monster at 11 pounds American Alder with similar neck the tuning pegs , Vintage V6 has a full size staggered block , low e and a have two holes with the staggered block it gives incredible tuning stability , I tried to get into the Ir interface stuff couldn't get the the drivers to work with Windows 10 I just it run a little BOSS Katana Mini brilliant little amp , just let people know that Trevor Wilkinson who helped design the Vintage V6 work at Fender in the 70's with Leo so I think Trevor understands what a Stratocaster should play and sound like ,
Thanks for your comments and insights. I found the V6 Icon to be a complete surprise and I have tried some 'proper Strats' since and I still find myself yearning for that guitar having sent it back now. It sounds like you love yours and yes Trev W doesn't get enough credit but I am noticing that a lot of British brands are using his components more recently. The tuning stability of the V6 really surprised me! It's great!
Thanks for your insight. Yes the sound quality does need to be improved. But hey, I'm no professional and this is just a fun hobby. Looking forward to checking out your channel for inspiration.
@@blutonemusic You don't have to be Steve Vai to be able to get a decent recorded sound out of an electric guitar. It honestly sounded like the speaker/IR was disabled. No offense.

@@BigBoss-md4wp I think the biggest difference is that the electronics are not Wilkinson but Entwhistle based and I think the body is heavier. I have not tried one although I have tried the T style and it was great for the money. That said if I got a beginner guitar that I wanted to keep into being intermediate then I would stick with the V6. The one I reviewed had awesome playability and great tuning stability. I would happily gig with it.
Very appreciated that you made this review. Cheers!
No problem. I hope that it has helped you in some way.

Same here wih my blue icon, but i have keep the pickups and pickguard ! Here the relic seems better around the edges on start !!
For the given price, they are very underrated guitars IMO. I own 8 in their range and would happily compare them to much higher priced brands.
I would absolutely agree with you!

A pleasure sir!

no volume ????
That's unfortunate for you. It's a good job the guitar looks great!
You don’t run the string through the tuning pegs twice! It’s a vintage six bolt bridge not six position, I couldn’t watch past there!
Thanks for the comment and I am glad that I saved you some time!😆😆😆
Maybe you should have watched. You might learn something as you do. Run the string through the tuning peg twice.😂😂
Do you realize that your guitar sounds like it¨s recorded through an amp without a cab!? I mean what the heck is this: 8:55

Did you have your own shop?
@@blutonemusic I had an online music sales business but did collections as well..
@@pauljohnson3686 That sounds great. I wondered about doing something similar.
Can u please point out the difference between V6 icon and V60 Coaster series?
