As a novel reader, I'm delighted to see this animated. Aileen is a great main character, being the heroine but sometimes acting smartly as a villainess. Glancing at the novel covers you have a clue of how powerful her presence is.
I don't get it Cedric wants her gone now he's mad at her life choices only after she got kicked out of the family if you never kicked her out he wouldn't be this mad Cedrics quite the more annoying idiot yeah she's not out by name but he forced this himself by making an enemy of a kind woman in the first place at least keep her there if you don't want enemies & pay attention to your actual wife but he's too hung up on his wife which is unfortunate.

I get it, he… his heart soared when he heard he had a potential female suitor, now that she has her friends with her to rebuild the castle, all male of course, and their all buddy-buddy with her he’s a tiny bit jealous. And because his powers are temperamental on his temperament he threw a tiny tantrum.
It's pretty clear she did all of this not out of vengeance but to start a new life and to avoid a bad ending, when you think about it, she probably died tragically in her old world so she's looking for a new life in the new world. It may be a bit selfish on her part, but she's obviously better than Lilia.
Here is a question for you to ponder. Lilia has been getting threatening letter- some of which are signed with Aileens name. Clearly, Aileen hasn't made any such letter, although the Aileen from the 'game" did. So, who do you think wrote those letters, and why?

Lilia will actually make a terrible queen; not only she had bad grades at academia and has no skills that fit to be a queen but she also downgraded the ability of the prince as a future king with a cheap "you're perfect just the way you are" trope The only best thing she does is seduce the prince with that "innocent UwU girl" facade

If anything this show proves how women are antagonize for being independent, goal oriented and ambitious, while dependent, quiet but pure hearted princess like girls are considered preferable. Feminist don't help either cause they made women's reputation bad with their superiority complex. I think the butterfly effect here is happening because the moment she refused her destiny as the villainess, I think that’s when Prince Cedric took over that role, also I think he took it as a personal insult when during the first episode she refused to cry, to make him feel superior an left with her dignity.
Well- Aileen only got her memories from her past life after the prince publicly annulled their engagement after standing her up at a ball. Aileen actually was somewhat mean to Lilia before then. Which is kind of understandable. Her and Cedrics marriage was set up since they were kids (Cedric actually proposed), and she's spent most of her life preparing to be a good wife and empress. She actually had a *thing* for Cedric, or rather her image of him. She spent so much time studying and working on projects to make the kingdom more prosperous that she had *one* peer friend who she only ever interacted with during class. Her devotion to the prince was obvious to anyone that spoke to her. Then this little girl with the lowest noble title shows up. She has bad grades across the board, no backing or family allies, and no skill at politics. She charms the prince by basically telling him he's fine the way he is- that he shouldn't have to work hard to be a good successor to his dad, the emperor. So for Aileen- everything she's worked for is being overturned by a girl who didn't work for it- who's going to steal her fiancée and the position Aileen has spent almost every waking moment working towards for over a decade with nothing but a pretty face and a kind demeanor. Worse, Cedric abandons Aileen for the first pretty face to give him validation for being a lazy ass. To say that, by this point, Aileen has *no* interest in Cedric is an understatement. He didn't *just* leave her the first time a pretty face showed up, he stole all her hard work meant to improve the kingdom, bungled it for a small amount of short-term personal gain, and also went out of his way to try to humiliate her repeatedly. The thing is? Nothing's changed from the "game". Cedric would *always* do all that.

SO it's not like people don't have free will, it's that Lilia can take away their free will and force with her own.

SPOILERS Lilia is behind all the threat letters, she's obviously the most SUS. She treats every existing characters in the game as just game characters while Aileen obviously treats them like they're people with feelings.

I read the manga and part of the light novel but this recarinated Aileen is the better mc than the actual mc 😂. Also I absolutely hate Cedric and Lilia, without any spoilers. They might be the one of the worst villains that have irritated me so much to the point, I just want them gone (at least according to later story in light novel)
I must agree. I read the manga. Some vallains are untitled, power hungry or revenge, this couple is far darker and twisted, If you ever had an abusive relationship or met toxic people then you will recognize this couple. They are the worst vallains ever.
