it’s not a waste, it’s just more balanced and realistic, you have more cannons than a sloop and usually an extra person so that helps and you’ll outrun a galleon in a headwind so you’re okay (the brig isn’t being removed, changes are being made to all ships speeds so that there isn’t a “meta ship” bigger ships are faster when catching wind it goes Galleon, Brig, Sloop but if one of the 3 Galleon sails aren’t catching the wind the brig is faster and in a headwind it’s flipped so the fastest is the sloop followed by the brig and then the galleon
There is no way they can smite the brig like that without repercussions the man o war will shred a sloop in seconds if anything should be removed its the sloop because its under powered now.
If this was real, it would be such a stupid decision by Rare. They added the brig because it became necessary for medium sized player groups. Not only that, but with the fact that you can buy ships to captain in the game now would have made removing the Brigs very complicated or just disrespectful to the players
I mean good for Rare to know when something can’t be fixed, it should be tossed. But at the same time, sloops are about to put in work against these huge ships.
