Dual RAM: This is a great guide! I just purchased a DE10-Nano and it was really helpful to use as a guide when I put it together. Can't wait to start playing some retro games!
My kids are always asking me how to save and load game saves in the various cores. Please consider making a howto video that shows how to do it with the various cores that support it. My older son was playing Banjo-Toioie and inside the game it saved a few times, but I guess that doesn't work... and that it is a manual operation. I've seen various written instructions for a few other cores but they weren't ever clear. I think for some CD-based games, they have to be in folders in order to save? I think you'd be doing the community of novice users a great service with such a tutorial video.

Dual RAM DualRAM Duel RAM. ;) It would come in really handy for me since my current 128MB module isn’t compatible with the single channel Saturn core. It’s an Antonio Villena 4-chip and all 4-chip modules have that issue. Anyway, those rubber feet were included with the DE10-Nano for me… not included by MiSTer Add-Ons.
This is so scary when you start getting into MiSTer. I remember having a panic attack about the IO Board and USB boards back then in 2018... what should I get? dual ram or IO Board, what's that SNAC thing, get BliSTer board or regular USB board, USB bridge or USB bracket, is the included PSU enough??? so many questions... Thanks to SmokeMonster and MiSTerAddons I could get clear answers to those questions
I guess I meant a way to test that dual Ram is installed ( before we had the little icon showing full for 128 ) and if the speeds are correct with all the installed memory. I thought I had read somewhere in the past some of the memory modules had different speeds that weren’t compatible with all cores. There is also the fact that I have had really bad brain fog as of late so maybe my mind is just mixing up other platform’s .. - Dual Ram
Dual RAM. This would be great. The De-10 Nano has almost doubled in price in the last few years so this would be a great discount on getting a Mister setup. Thanks!

Dual Ram! No idea why you would put two sheeps with huge horns in your MiSTserFPGA build since I really struggled fitting one already and it doesn't seem to improve performance, and quite frankly hurt performance of the build.... And the smell is pretty bad too after a while.
Dual ram! Always interested on where the mister fpga project will go. Curious on what will be done when we reach the de 10's limit. And wether the main dev community will adopt another fpga with some more room or not. I know other projects exist out there.
The second bank of GPIO pins on the DE10. I show the digital IO with the two cutouts for ram. If you don’t have a digital IO board (if you are using analog) then you won’t have this open area and can’t install dual ram
I was contemplating going for a 2nd Mister to go with the RetoTink 4K but with that costing quite a lot a nice startup would be nice to go with a digital Dual RAM setup. 😎
Ive been temped to get a mistercade mostly for the consolization of the mister, instead of the PCB sandwich that I already have. But I don't have any hardware that would use the Jamma connection. I just like the form factor it provides. Do you already have a retrotink 5x or OCSC? I'm just curious how much that would add when the mister already has so many video options available. Is scaling that much of a night and day difference? Im playing on an LCD, my computer monitor usually, I also have a Sony HD CRT but I havent messed with the CRT much yet.
Arcade pcb video tomorrow at 7:30 am lol. I just gotta space them out. It’s not every month I can get another rare game in (but tomorrows pcb is exceedingly rare)
I had no idea that more than 128 mb ram was an option. I have the analog version of the io board along with a metal mister case. Looks like a new case will also have to be a consideration for me when I decide to upgrade. 🤑
DUAL RAM Really love my Retrocastle MiSTer with the built in power switch, can't understand how this wasn't a thing with other more popular builds. If a dual ram digital i/o build lets me have that power switch along with access to a few more arcade boards, though, sign me up

Anyway, those rubber feet were included with the DE10-Nano for me… not included by MiSTer Add-Ons.
Ahh that’s right you had that chip didn’t you
This is so scary when you start getting into MiSTer.
MiSTerAddons does a great job of explaining the differences and helping people pick the right stuff
Is there a way we can test via prompt if we have the “appropriate” dual ram installed? Dual Ram ..
Describe appropriate? Sorry not sure what you mean
- Dual Ram
Memtest. You can see installed modules and test them
Dual RAM. This would be great. The De-10 Nano has almost doubled in price in the last few years so this would be a great discount on getting a Mister setup. Thanks!
Inflation hasn’t been kind
Sign me up for the DUAL RAM haha. My brother has a minimalist setup without any addon boards (besides a basic ram chip) and I'm sure he would appreciate a proper I/O upgrade. Great video as always 👍🍻
Got it!
Dumb question. When you start a game and that box pops up on left top with 60hz etc how I turn that off?
It’s down to the core I believe. Some do it. Some don’t
Dual RAM
If I win this, it is gonna go towards a build for a friend who's really wanted a MiSTer for a while. Thanks for another great video!
Best of luck!
Dual RAM! Keep up the great work with the videos! Would love to get a dual RAM so that I can continue to use all the upcoming cores.
Best of luck
Dual RAM! Would really like to build a new setup for the new Dual RAM cores, especially since I’ve moved my setup to a flat panel TV recently.
I have a dedicated dual ram for my 4K tv
Dual RAM.
Can you mix old v2.5 128meg sticks with new v3.0?
You can mix them all
Dual RAM
Love these videos. The N64 ones alone have been my bread an butter over the last few weeks.
Doing the N64 vids has been the most fun for me in the last few months
@@VideoGameEsoterica I recall how _adamant_ people were about the N64 being a "never gonna happen" and I just assumed they were right and here we are....
And here we are!
Your videos are always informing and awesome. A DUAL RAM setup would be cool. I already have a digital io from misteraddons and looking to put another ram chip on.
Glad you find them informative
Dual Ram! No idea why you would put two sheeps with huge horns in your MiSTserFPGA build since I really struggled fitting one already and it doesn't seem to improve performance, and quite frankly hurt performance of the build....
And the smell is pretty bad too after a while.
👍
Dual Ram. Love your videos. Really looking forword to building one of these
Glad you enjoy
So we will need a new IO board if we go DUAL RAM?
If you have the analog board yes
Dual RAM! No idea how to build this but I love your video!
Glad you enjoyed
Dual Ram for UMK3!!! I heard that there was work being done on a dual ram analog I/O board, is that true?
It is. I’ll show it in a vid once it’s done I’m sure
Dual ram! Always interested on where the mister fpga project will go. Curious on what will be done when we reach the de 10's limit. And wether the main dev community will adopt another fpga with some more room or not. I know other projects exist out there.
There will be a MiSTer 2 one day when it’s needed
So is there currently a way to have dual ram and analogue out?
Direct video
Where do you install the second RAM module? I don't see a second slot
That would be a super good use for it for sure
Ive been temped to get a mistercade mostly for the consolization of the mister, instead of the PCB sandwich that I already have. But I don't have any hardware that would use the Jamma connection. I just like the form factor it provides. Do you already have a retrotink 5x or OCSC? I'm just curious how much that would add when the mister already has so many video options available. Is scaling that much of a night and day difference? Im playing on an LCD, my computer monitor usually, I also have a Sony HD CRT but I havent messed with the CRT much yet.
I use a Framemeister personally still. Will grab a Tink4K tomorrow if they don’t all get scalped by bots
Dual RAM!!! Really looking forward to the Saturn core
👍
Dual ram ! …. Used to love the arcade pcb videos but this is all good too. Brilliant work, sub ages ago… top man
Arcade pcb video tomorrow at 7:30 am lol. I just gotta space them out. It’s not every month I can get another rare game in (but tomorrows pcb is exceedingly rare)
I really need to upgrade to the new Dual RAM board, still using the 32M RAM board.
Yes def time for an upgrade
I had no idea that more than 128 mb ram was an option. I have the analog version of the io board along with a metal mister case. Looks like a new case will also have to be a consideration for me when I decide to upgrade. 🤑
You can change the IO plate and do dual ram
@@VideoGameEsoterica I see what you mean. Found it on Mister Addons! Thanks.
DUAL RAM
Really love my Retrocastle MiSTer with the built in power switch, can't understand how this wasn't a thing with other more popular builds. If a dual ram digital i/o build lets me have that power switch along with access to a few more arcade boards, though, sign me up
An extra power switch is a good time
This is great I was wondering about the dual ram setup
👍
*DUAL RAM , these videos are awesome !* keep up the good work bro 💪
Plenty more coming!
