Great song!!! If you ever grow up One thing you'll find Most people that you meet Just about out their mind They try to tell you how to live They try to tell you how to die They tell you don't get too low, but don't get too high Best thing you can do is don't listen too close Walk on to your own beat Keep 'em on they toes Keep 'em on they toes Your business outta sight Make 'em look left if you're gonna hang a right If the pot's hot, don't let em see your hand Make 'em gotta know what they wouldn't understand The best thing you can do when the ignorance shows Is walk on to your own beat And keep 'em on they toes If you never grow up, you oughta stay that way You can't learn what you ain't gotta change Just listen to your heart, listen to the rain Listen to whatever it is that keeps you sane Now, I don't have to tell it 'cause you already know Walk on to your own beat Keep 'em on they toes Keep 'em on they toes Your business outta sight Make 'em look left if you're gonna hang a right If the pot's hot, don't let em see your hand Make 'em gotta know what they wouldn't understand The best thing you can do when the ignorance shows Is walk on to your own beat Keep 'em on they toes I don't have to tell it 'cause y'all already know Walk on to your own beat And keep 'em on they toes
I have been listening to a phone recorded version of this since I saw you in Huntsville al. Finally a well recorded version. Brent you are the definition of what country music should be 💯💯💯
My father-in-law passed away in June, and my husband and I heard this song on a Spotify playlist. Immediately, it felt like my father-in-law was with us and we both started crying. This is exactly how he lived his life. He kept everyone on his toes.
""Keep em"on their toes......your bidness outta sight!.... Make em' look left of you're gonna hang a right!..... If the pots hot don't let em' see your hand!..... Make em' gotta know what they wouldn't understand!"
The guys I work with just thought they listened to country music until I showed them you Sir. Thank you.
I've never even heard of this guy and this is now one of my favorite songs. SO good!
We need more sweet sweet tunes, and kind souls like this!

Amen God Bless ❤
KCSN brought me hear. I thought this was a song from long ago and an artist from the 70s when I heard his voice. It's new. This is fantastic.
Damn! That's some good stuff right there!

Beautiful song
A fabulous song that plays to everyone’s heart 💙🎶🌟🎶💙
Great advice for the young ones in your life ! Thank you
well hell, man. This is phenomenal
Wow, not a country fan for the most part, but this dude here is just amazing. So genuine and real, with that classic country sound. Love it!
I would classify this as traditional americana. Just my opinion.
There's good and bad of any genre. The preistclass of the air waves would never have you know, it is up to you to go out and find it
This is more of an Americana/folk than country.
Great song!!!
If you ever grow up
One thing you'll find
Most people that you meet
Just about out their mind
They try to tell you how to live
They try to tell you how to die
They tell you don't get too low, but don't get too high
Best thing you can do is don't listen too close
Walk on to your own beat
Keep 'em on they toes
Keep 'em on they toes
Your business outta sight
Make 'em look left if you're gonna hang a right
If the pot's hot, don't let em see your hand
Make 'em gotta know what they wouldn't understand
The best thing you can do when the ignorance shows
Is walk on to your own beat
And keep 'em on they toes
If you never grow up, you oughta stay that way
You can't learn what you ain't gotta change
Just listen to your heart, listen to the rain
Listen to whatever it is that keeps you sane
Now, I don't have to tell it 'cause you already know
Walk on to your own beat
Keep 'em on they toes
Keep 'em on they toes
Your business outta sight
Make 'em look left if you're gonna hang a right
If the pot's hot, don't let em see your hand
Make 'em gotta know what they wouldn't understand
The best thing you can do when the ignorance shows
Is walk on to your own beat
Keep 'em on they toes
I don't have to tell it 'cause y'all already know
Walk on to your own beat
And keep 'em on they toes
