There are only a handful of 1944 steel cents but you have 3 of them. Lol! What you have are plated copper cents that were done after minting by unscrupulous scammers. A simple magnet test will prove this

Is there a 1944 bronze Penny because I have 6 different 1944’s and one is a gold color but not toned.
It has been chemically cleaned. That is why it is a funny color.

I don't believe it was stainless steel! That's why they are coated in zinc, to prevent rust, and stainless steel doesn't easily rust!
