Well, it has been 1 year since I uploaded my first video and a lot has changed. I tried out a lot of different type of videos and many people subscribed to this channel for different reasons. So my question to you as a viewer is this:
1. What video made you subscribe?
2. Why did you subscribe?
3 What type of videos do you want to see moving forward?
I want to make videos that you guys value and want to watch. That is the whole point of RUclips. So please let me know down in the comments as it will greatly effect the direction of this channel moving forward!

What's up everyone!? So stoked to have you here at the Active Dad community! My name is Jimmy and I have an amazing wife named Meg. We live in Arizona with our son, Brady, that was born in January of 2020. He such a sweet, happy boy and has learned a lot already. We got him a helmet to fix plagiocephaly around 5-1/2 helmets so be sure to follow along with his progress! My wife and I are both very active people who love camping, hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding and many others. Probably the thing that I'm most excited about with being a parent, is teaching my kids about all the fun activities there are to do in this world that I love.

I subscribed because my husband and I are moving to Idaho this summer, sight unseen as well. I enjoyed your video because it made me feel like we weren't the craziest humans alive for doing that. I've stayed because your content has such high quality! Any videos on Idaho life and outdoorsy content is my vote!
Well thank you and no I don't think it's crazy at all! Especially the way the market is right now. Since the market is so competitive right now and everyone ends up in bidding wars, the likelihood of actually seeing the house that you will purchase when moving out of state just seems very unlikely. It's an awesome place to raise a family that's for sure. And such a welcome change if you are moving from a dumpster fire like Cali. Clean, safe, great people and sooooooo much to do outdoors.

I came to your channel through Dad's verb channel, which I love. I like the idea of family a channel with reviews and also family trips. I have a 12 months old, we love the snow too, the outdoors and doing fun stuff, so I instantly liked your content on snowboarding with a toddler. Your way of story telling is awesome too. We found your channel because we were considering moving to Arizona from the PNW -- currently not planning on doing that lol. We subbed for the baby content as we're about to become new parents and have no clue what we need. Would love to see more reviews on gear that helps you maintain your "active dad" lifestyle with a little one, plus fun vlogs showing off Idaho.
Hi Gemini! Yea I think you're making the right move of staying in the PNW! People say Arizona only has 3 months of bad weather and I'd describe it as 3 months of extreme summer, 2 months on either end of a normal summer and 5 months a bit nicer weather. I have lots of active gear so I'll be sure to incorporate some of it into the reviews and of course more adventure videos of Idaho!
Your channel qas in my recommended today. I watch a lot of videos of couples who move to remote areas and build their homes together such as life uncontained. I live in AZ so I'm not sure why the algorithm added you to my home but I'm checking out your content.

I sub because Dadverb mentioned your collab. But I did look at your other videos and my husband and I love your editing and filming style. We have an 18m daughter and we love to know what baby/toddler gears are new. We can’t keep up with all the brands products and since we can’t touch it seeing a detailed video feels like we did. But we do like occasional vlogs to feel like we’re friends and get a life update and “build a relationship”. Your doing great! Happy to follow!

I enjoy vlogs! My husband, toddler and I moved to a new state away from family and it’s been really hard to be so far without help or company, so I’d love to see updates on your new house, etc!
We know exactly what you mean! What state are you in? Thankfully Brady is finally in daycare so we can at least a break for two days a week.
Just found this channel my daughter is almost 2 months, the in home videos are key it’s so necessary to see what’s worked so it’s nice to try those first I like your channel for the variety but definitely need help being able to give my wife a break
Haha I legit subscribed when I saw your Idaho vid, scanned your channel and saw you do a lot of the same stuff I like to do with my kids and we neighbors haha. I’ve found a ton of things to do here in my two years in Idaho but always great to see what others doing

I found your video on leaving Arizona and I live in Phoenix Arizona and my mom wants to move to Ohio to a house she hasn’t seen and I’m so sad to see her go but I get it! I wanted to see the process of your move cause I know my mom is going through something similar. I love seeing vlogs I think they are fun and you have a beautiful family
I subscribed to your channel because I am a father as well with a soccer team of all girls and had moved sight unseen to a way up North Property to live off the grid! Sight unseen, who does that?! 😆 not just me! Lol
I think buying sight unseen is a whole lot more common than we thought it was! We thought we were crazy too for doing it.

I subscribed after watching your video about moving to Idaho. That is exactly what we are doing. We are in escrow with the sale of our current home as I type this. Our new home in Star won't be done till mid June now because materials are harder to get, and apparently the workers keep getting COVID... SO we are going to be full-time in a 5th wheel for 2-3 months with our teenage son, 1 dog and 3 cats.... yeah... cats in an RV.... I should probably buy a GoPro so I can record THAT adventure....
To answer your question... It would be cool to see content about your adjustment to living in Star. Where's that great saturday morning breakfast place? What bumps were there in the transition? What were the differences in quality of life compared to your old place? What's the best internet provider? Can we get GIG speed in the new communities? Do the homegrown locals hate all the new people coming in? What's traffic like from Star to Boise, and back during commute hours? 6-8 am and 3:30-5:30 PM. These are some of the questions that I have
It's a crazy time right now with COVID and lack of real estate inventory. All materials seem to be delay with everything. Our washer and dryer were delayed 3 months but we managed to get by. Yes, definitely buy a something to document your journey, you'll love looking back on it in years to come! That's a big reason why I make these videos. Well I can't answer all your questions but I'm pretty sure the only internet provider in Star is Sparklite and honestly the cell service is a big spotty so I'm on wifi all the time and yes they have GIG speed. I work from home so I really don't know what the traffic is like all the way to Boise but Meridian is pretty busy during rush hour, especially Eagle. The only breakfast spot I've seen is Star Country Cafe and everyone seems to rave about it! Good luck with your adventure and you'll be glad you made the move once you arrive!
I originally found your channel because my son was also getting fitted for a doc band helmet. I started watching all of your other videos because the content is really high quality. I super enjoy supporting content producers when they are still relatively unknown (similar to watching indie films?) and then being there along the way to see the growth. One of the content producers I started following when he had 50 subscribers and today he has over 3/4 million after a few years! That was such fun and it's awesome being part of the community that helped shaping its growth.
I think the same will happen here! Your content in terms of editing, videograohy is super high quality. I love the vlogs and just parenting videos in general, I think there is a gap on YT where most parenting videos are from moms, so it's great to see content from a dad's perspective. So keep making awesome content!!
That's a pretty awesome story about the channel that had 50 subscribers and wouldn't that be awesome to end up there one day!? It's hard to imagine but I'll keep at it. I've had many people communicate with me about the Doc Band (even from Pakistan!) so I'm glad I made those videos and hope they helped some people out. Thanks Wei!
Started watching your channel after a recommendation from Dad Verb. I enjoy the Vlogs and am curious on how you balance family life with an active lifestyle. I struggle with that myself being a new dad with a 2 year old son. I do not always find the time necessary to be as active as I once was, let alone the energy at times. BTW loved your AZ house, really a gorgeous place. Best of luck with your journey, I'll be here for the ride!
Hey thanks Dawid! It's definitely tough to balance it all. I try to be as active WITH my family since it can be hard to find enough time to get away and do anything else. I'm doing a 30 day fitness challenge right now where I workout every single day and eat super clean and it is definitely tough to find not only time but motivation to stay focused on it with everything going on within our lives. I love the idea for the video you mentioned and I'll probably do it!

I subbed because I'm about to become a parent of my own and I needed some.. inside info :D also, because I'm about to create a channel about parenthood in the Greek language and I needed inspiration. now.. what I'd like to watch here from now on would be everything else BUT gear reviews and other easy-to-find (around the web) stuff. I'd prefer to know more about the obstacles of your day-to-day life as a parent, about your feelings & anxieties, how your relationship is going on with your spouse after having a baby, what did finally happen after your baby had the fever (wishing against that), and ALL the other "difficult" & rare things nobody talks about (..except me on my [wanna get started] channel). pls, NO more techy vids about the best camera-monitor ;) ..I understand that the numbers may come only this way BUT I'd ask for a stronger human community, not for the best knowledge about.. strollers (come on, these things doesn't really matter, we wont care after 5yrs and there wont be that model on the market after all. but your personal STORY will be there to inspire another new daddy!! ;) ). have a very nice day, man
So you're saying you want me to be more...vulnerable and talk about my feelings?? It's definitely intriguing and I may just do it. You have a point with the fact that new models of strollers are always coming out but when you're a small channel, you have to make searchable content so that people can find your channel. Now that it has been a year, I might just start trying out some different types of videos. Thank you for your suggestion and good luck with your RUclips channel!
