Thanks, Ryan. I've also noticed that early Timelys like Captain America Comics and Marvel Mystery Comics have also been getting very impressive sales. They're rarer books, especially in Fine and above, and collectors seem to be willing to pay whatever to get them.
Ryan - just tagged you in my IG post; I had the winning bids for SuperWorld 1 & 2. A SW1 CGC 3.0 sold during an IG live sale through Babylon recently for $6,500. Obviously IG live does not show up on GPA. I currently have the 5.0 you showed in this video and a raw ~ 2.0+. Sold my 5.5 copy of SW 1 or in 2023… was special as: it has several stamps on the front cover noting it as a copyright deposit in the Library of Congress.

This is the first time I have seen a complete (albeit with a married centerfold) Detective #1 for sale. That is impressive.

Thanks Ryan, I appreciate these recaps because I often miss some of these. Between weekly, monthly, and quarterly auctions across the big guys, I can't keep up with all of them 😅
Charles Sultan did the Scoop 2 cover. He was a Fine assistant. I use to own a copy that would grade out at 3.0. Sold it for a song several years ago. Sigh.
Did you see the Cinderella Love 15 in 9.0 go for $41K?
I got the more fun 45 then saw a higher grade copy now up for sale on Heritage 😂😮😅
There's a complete DC collection coming up for auction at heritage at the end of oct followed by their signature auction at the end of November. Some of the DC books are crazy grades. With the PBA auction in the middle of November also, that will be 3 Action 1's up for auction in about a 1-2 month span. I am starting to get the feeling that too much supply for high end golden age is coming to the market. I don't think there is enough money to handle this, but we'll see 👍 (edit: and also what is with the 3.0 Action 1 with color touch and still in a blue label, looks like it was re-holdered and found to have color touch, but they left it as universal? not sure, might be a typo in the heritage description)

People just love bad news. Even if the this auction was in their favor, they just want to yell at you.
Good to know you can get a 9.8 with a dust shadow. Not that I ever or will buy a golden age book, at a 9.8.
Hi Ryan, I realize this wasn’t a pedigree collection, but do you think some buyers paid a premium for the cache of getting a book from the Ruben Blades collection? Also, what did you think of the Matt Baker sales for this auction? Some big numbers on two of the Cinderella Love books, which went for much more than I thought but they were top of census books…
Honestly, I don’t think many paid a premium for it being Ruben Blades. I didn’t even know who he was. But maybe a few people did.
Also I wasn’t watching the Bakers in this auction because they sold on Tuesday. So I can’t speak to those. But it looks like the 27 was the single highest graded. So I’m not shocked with the price.
Edit: looks like the 15 was the highest graded too, and a 9.0 Baker romance is exceedingly rare. Massive price, but it’s one of the best covers IMO.
@@AutomaticComicsWe listened to (and danced to) his music growing up, he’s huge in the Spanish-speaking world, though we never were the target market for comic books, nor are we the target audience for this type of auction, so you’re probably right about people not paying a premium for books associated with him…
I just bought the Daring Mystery Comics 1 (9.0 R), at this auction....did I overpay?
Trimmed copy yes? Trimmed for me personally is a non starter. Great book - congratulations
@@raleighcomicbookcollector Yes trimmed on two sides (top and right, I believe). But there are only 54 on the census and I've been looking for a copy for 20 years. What's a guy to do?

@@ramastarchild6804 The way I see it. You searched for 20 years and got one. Love it , display it. And I'm super happy for ya. I searched forever for a Tomb of Dracula #26 I can afford. Not the best copy. But I display it proudly.
@@raleighcomicbookcollector I'm going to keep it slabbed and put it on the wall next to; Mystic Comics 1, Red Raven 1, Sub-Mariner Comics 1, Young Allies 1, All Winners 1, USA 1, Tough Kid Squad 1, Joker Comics 1, Terry-Toons 1, Kid Komics 1, and Amazing Comics 1. Daring Mystery will fit in there nicely! Some day I will get that Captain America 1...sigh...
