Shenpai fighting the STRONGEST Death Rite Bird as her first encounter against a Death Rite Bird is so ironic, and yet so perfect for the Shenpai experience. So many birds were hidden before this one, but Shen's gotta get the toughest foe she can get. 😂
Well....one can say that anyone that doesn't realize night boss spawns will encounter that one first, because that is the only one that spawns regardless of time.
Am I the only one who thinks the Death Rite Birds are a bit...much? I wouldn't go as far as to say they're unfair, but from the several AOE attacks, the deceptive one-shot explosion, the fire that stays on the ground, delayed attacks, screams that deal damage and can't be reacted to if upclose, etc. Well I guess the point I'm trying to make is that I feel like Fromsoft didn't really know when enough was enough with some of these encounters. Even regular enemies like Banished Knights, Revenants and Leonine Missbegotten feel overtuned compared to what the player has access to (I'm talking base moveset so I'm not putting weapon arts into consideration). I love these games obviously, but this is something that hasn't sat right with me personally when it comes to Elden Ring.
@@leithaziz2716 honestly they’re fine because even though they have a unique and challenging moveset, they’re quite susceptible to positioning and most importantly holy damage, wich there are just so so so many sources of it in the game. revenants are for sure very exhausting but atleast you can almost one shot them with a heal incantation. banished knights and leonine are not too tough, but if you’re still struggling with them, go for stance break, it’s a simple and very viable strategy against them.
Shen literally fighting for her life against the Fire Giant and completely breaking mentally while the crew is just debating which pokémon they would like to own in the background is just peak Shenpai experience
Fun fact about Fire Giant: Right after Elden Ring released, if it rolled over too high an obstacle in its arena it could instantly die from fall damage.
Reminds me of that trick you can use to make the Demon of Hatred fall off the cliff in Sekiro. Allthough you can still do that now. The weird part is hearing about bosses dying from fall damage. The terrain must have had some jank then.

I kept going in circles for so long, even on my 2nd playthrough because I couldn't notice any distinct landmarks. It made me miss the Depths from DS1 of all things, which I didn't expect I would say considering the bassilisks PTSD.

I just realized. I get the same enjoyment from exploring caves in TOTK as I did when I explored caves in Elden Ring. They all look similar, but the layout is always different, the rewards you get from them are always satisfying to get, and they're fun to look for throughout the whole world.

I started playing Elden Ring after watching a bunch of these videos, and now after having almost gotten the platinum on this game, watching you do some of the silly mistakes I made and having learned from your previous videos has been a beyond wonderful experience. Been looking forward to this video for a good while, so happy it's finally out. ❤
I started playing that carnival music when my friend saw Melina burn for the first time. He was legit in tears since Melina was hid only waifu (he did the Ranni quest and I told him that she will only appear at the ending of the game) when I hit up the carnival music.
I’ve went through this game many times now but I always love watching people’s first experience with these games. Especially Shen’s runs always a blast.
I was so shocked she never gave any bell bearings to the husks, but then I remembered she's been using like 3 weapons the whole game so it doesn't even matter lol.
Coincidentally, I was just playing through this part of the game today before the vod released. Thanks for the entertainment, Shen. I get the frustration regarding the delayed attacks. They're fine to throw out every one in a while to keep the player focused, but they're so frequent in Elden Ring that it feels you can't react naturally to attacks much due to the unnatural delay and have to get hit by them 1st in order to learn the timing. But that's my personal pet peeve with the game.
I love seeing Shen's gameplay because its funny, Milky just adds the chaos to it all which makes it even better. That time with Solaire will always be my favorite interaction where he trolled you when he could have helped you save him.

Slightly unrelated, but I love the Pokemon conversation that you guys had later in the video. I like to think about what it would actually be like to live in that world. A lot of people think that all of the Pokemon would be basically like animals and not have the same cognitive awareness that we do, but I really doubt that's the case. Some of them would be like the world's equivalent to animals, but there are other that would be on par with us or even surpass us. Many Pokemon are based off of folklore or mythology, which contains fantastical creatures and beings, many of which are cunning and like us. The only difference is that in the Pokemon world, they're real. I apologize, I have brain rot.
I don't know if this is explained in the Rykard lore, but I think his design is so cool. It's like he let the god devouring serpent eat him, but he fused with it, bursting his face through the back of the serpent's neck, and his limbs through its' body. And as a result, where his limbs poked out, the wounds of the serpent there have these bloody hands of devoured people, crawling out to reach freedom. And he keeps feeding more people to the serpent so his own power grows.

Slightly unrelated, but I love the Pokemon conversation that you guys had later in the video. I like to think about what it would actually be like to live in that world. A lot of people think that all of the Pokemon would be basically like animals and not have the same cognitive awareness that we do, but I really doubt that's the case. Some of them would be like the world's equivalent to animals, but there are other that would be on par with us or even surpass us. Many Pokemon are based off of folklore or mythology, which contains fantastical creatures and beings, many of which are cunning and like us. The only difference is that in the Pokemon world, they're real. I apologize, I have brain rot.

I don't know if this is explained in the Rykard lore, but I think his design is so cool. It's like he let the god devouring serpent eat him, but he fused with it, bursting his face through the back of the serpent's neck, and his limbs through its' body. And as a result, where his limbs poked out, the wounds of the serpent there have these bloody hands of devoured people, crawling out to reach freedom. And he keeps feeding more people to the serpent so his own power grows.
