    Downright INNOVATIVE. Well-done. It brings the animated and live-action shows together.
    In todays day and age,,we need ST:TOS more than ever.

      @@morlockmeat One day they'll be able to do it with more advanced CGI, we're close to it now. I remember Roddenberry suggesting it might be possible to do away with sets. Soon we might be able to do away with actors (except for voice overs).

      @@jamesigou9033 - That's right. There have already been movies made with absolutely no sets. Just actors and green screens. And I'm hoping one day soon for whole new episodes of Star Trek to be made with actors with the right physiques and they already have AI that can duplicate voices, and to act out the the parts with their faces deep faked with the original actors faces, how they looked in their younger days. That would be something! Just imagine new shows and movies made with actors that have been long gone. I'm sure the day is coming. 🤩

    OMG, I was THERE on September 8, 1966 to watch that 'new science fiction show on TV!!' I have been a Trekkie ever since. I have NEVER SEEN the animated series. WHAT a DELIGHT!! Thank you, oh my goodness, Thank You.

      The animated series (I have heard) continues the VALUES, and VIEWPOINT of freedom, equality, and high ideals portrayed in the original Star Trek series. Thank you, Gene Roddenberry for having a vision, Thank You, Lucille Ball for picking up the baton, and thank you Morlock M. for holding the baton high!! @@morlockmeat

      @@j.b.9581 - Again, you're very welcome. Yes, many of us Trekkies consider the animated series to be the 4th season of the original Trek. How could you go wrong - It had all the original cast, it had a bunch of the original writers, plus D.C. Fontana running the show. It's not perfect, but that could be said, also, about the original series (Boy that stung saying that...).
      If you get the chance, get the animated series on disc. It's worth having to complete the collection of the original show.

      I remember that night too. I was ten. It reminded me of Forbidden Planet. Quality. One of my friends wanted to know what Forbidden Planet was when I remarked about it. I told him: "Shut Up! I wanna watch this. I'll tell you about Forbidden Planet later.'

    The one difficulty with this is that Ens. Chekov and Lt. Arex get swapped, because Chekov (unfortunately) never appeared in the 70's Animated series. So I suppose Arex and Chekov must be very confused, and someone might notice. -- But hey, this is a super story idea! (Note, there's supposed to be a Lower Decks / Strange New Worlds crossover episode, and the Orville had a very different sort of 2D episode. But this fan film is going in its own interesting direction. Cool! Good job!)

      I'm ashamed to say I didn't see it. But, The Orville is more like Trek than any of the new Trek shows, so It would've been a good inspiration. I just always had the idea to somehow connect the animated with TOS, as goofy as it might be. 😆

    Fan film? It's mostly reused existing footage. It's clever. I'm not sure how they got the dialogue. Sampling? It's hilarious how the voices drop out at about 9 minutes.

      The sound problem has been mentioned by someone else, but I keep checking it and don't see, or hear a problem.

      @@morlockmeat The only sound issue I hear is that it sometimes sounds like a recording with a mic placed near a TV speaker. I used to record episodes like so.

      @@davidmorse2310 - Yes, some bits of sound are from various sources, with varying quality. I took what I could from where I could to tell the story. Wanted it to be in their own voices as much as possible. 😉😊

      Check your final audio in mono, sometimes some stereo files may be out of phase and cancel each other out, and as a result you have silence.

    8:54 this is happened twice already during the episode but the audio is wrong. All dialogue is missing

    The voice sound track kept cutting off. Their mouths were moving, but there was no sound. That would be great when encountering wild Karens, so nobody would have to hear their screeching and foul mouths, but it's not good when you are trying to watch a program.

      I couldn't find any part where the voices cut out. Unless you were talking about the scene on the bridge when Kirk want to go to the briefing room - those were other voices.

      I've even downloaded it back from RUclips and checked it through an audio app, but don't see a problem.
      I'm very sorry you are having issues with it. Are you listening to it with ear buds or headphones? One other person has mentioned this, also. I'll keep trying to track it down.

      Star Trek TOS ran on NBC from 1966-1969 The Animated Series was also on NBC Saturdays from 1973-1974

      CBS didn't own Star Trek until sometime in the mid-90's. But it was originally aired on NBC. 😉

    Hate to be the party-pooper but I don't care for this. Good to know that somebody cares enough to try to create something but this doesn't work for me. I've been a fan since the 1960s real people, and animated Saturday morning cartoon, so sorry but I call "No Joy" .....
