Thank you, this was some years ago but still useful! You have a lovely encouraging voice! These are lovely but I only by them individuallly. Using color pencils directly from the package is not very practical in my opinion so I have mine in jars by colour, not by brand. Fiy: it is better to note the numbers of these since other reviewers have said that they can be/have been changed over time but the numbers stay the same for a specific colour and also the numbers are easier to read. I think the idea of placing the names/numbers where they are is for you to have them visible even when you almost used all of the colour.
ruclips.net/video/ZXoY-nb2rcA/видео.htmlsi=eRNhJBx5e5zlg7vx Coloring Bliss talks about it in the video, see link above. It is time stamped, look for Naming discrepancies I think the chapter is called, about 20 mins in...
What a great review! I love that you showed us the colors and described how smooth they are. I'm switching to drawing after years of knitting. I found that knitting with the best needles and yarns made a tremendous difference in how my items turned out, so I think I might buy these even though I'm not a professional. The cheaper pencils I use now drag and aren't comfortable.
Trying hard not to be influenced and hard to justify why I should pay $385 CAD for these!!! I’ll continue to live vicariously through you until I lose my mind and buy them!! Enjoy!!😊😊😊
I too would love to have these pencils. They are on my wish list. I am not currently working on an art project, but I should be. I want to improve my painting skills among other things. So, I will get there.
So I just found you here on RUclips like a week ago and I love watching your videos! Thank u for being you, love your enthusiasm. And the other day I thought how nice it would be for u to try out luminance, and tadaaa!! I know that there are videos out there with luminance but I really prefer the way u do it, love the way u do swatches. So THANK YOU so much for doing what u do!!
OMG... you’re going to LOVE those colored pencils my husband treated me to those for my birthday. They are top quality pencils so I don’t use them for everyday drawings. They hold their points for a long time. I also have a hard time reading the names on some of them. (I need to wear my glasses 👓) That’s my only complaint... Caran D’ACHE makes a real nice product!!!!! I can seen a huge difference in the quality of my work when I use them pencils as opposed to say my Prismacolor pencils, which are my everyday colored pencils. ( I apologize if that comes across as snotty to anyone else reading this..... I don’t mean it to be). I’m lucky to have a husband that recognizes that art is important to me and that makes it important to him. So when I go out and buy supplies he’s the first one to go online and check out reviews or grab a store associate an ask them what is the best they have in the store and then that’s what he’ll ask me if I need. I love him for it if it’s something I really won’t use, I pass it up for something I really do want. But it has led to people not appreciating my comments.
Michelle Petrovich .....i like your comments, there's nothing wrong, or snotty about anything you've said. You're very fortunate to have an understanding and supportive husband, he sounds like a gem. I think if you can afford the best quality art supplies, and you enjoy using them, then you should go for the best. Life's too short to worry about how much you're spending on something you love doing. 🤗🇬🇧
My Art Supply Obsession thank you for your sweet comments. I appreciate that. I do have a love for collecting art supplies, I always have. It’s all the colors. I’m sure there’s a medical term for it but I don’t know what it is. Luckily My husband, like yours understands and he likes to see me happy so, he likes to help in my collecting. He likes to make sure I have full sets of say colored pencils, or markers or even my Dr. PH. Martin’s inks (which he made sure he got me the whole collection except the watercolors I had just gotten a whole bunch of watercolors at the time so I talked him out of buying them. Now I’m kinda of wishing I’da let him buy me the Hydra Watercolors as well I imagine they too are as gorgeous as the inks are. Do you happen to have those? If you do I’d love for you to swatch those. (When you have the time, of course) thanks for the lovely arty conversation today. Love your videos they are always so informative. 👍🏼🤩
I think I can really understand you, and I am in similar situation with you as my husband makes no fuss about my art supplies craze (especially lately). I really don’t want to sound snotty too, but these high end pencils really feel different, so lovely and gives me so much pleasure and kind to my wrist. I don’t have Prismacolor as I find it more difficult to source new & openstock, but have full sets of luminance, derwent lightfast, Polychromos, & pablo, derwent drawing, with few cheaper sets. Luminance & lightfast are my favourites. I don’t know how my husband just let me buying these as I am not even an artist! I just someone who loves drawing & colouring & “a bit” obsessed with art supplies ☺️
I am wanting these. I keep telling myself I don’t NEED them. Have you tried pablo pencils by caran d’ache also? I am curious how they compare. I have a 40 set of those. (it’s a nice set but I definitely want to buy more open stock greens to bulk it out.) thanks for sharing the beautiful colors!
Jill C ....I don't need them either, that's why I'm saving up to get them 😂😂😂 I've also got the Pablos, but i have found with them that they smudge a bit. I wonder if you've found the same?
I've only just now discovered you! I love your genuine enthusiasm and I definitely share your passion (addiction? ;)) for art supplies. Much love from Spain
I found your channel through your prima videos. I love your videos and I'm interested in trying out watercolors because of them. I saw that you have the whole prima collection and i wanted to buy one set of prima watercolor for my beginning palette. Could you give me a recommendation on one prima watercolor set that would be good for beginners and that has a warm and a cool of the primary colors?
My hubby got me a new set of watercolors for Mother's Day. :) I really love those pencils but I don't use colored pencils enough to justify investing in a nicer set than I already have. I am doing a daily prompt type challenge right now. I've found that if I don't have some sort of challenge or planned projects to do, I don't end up doing very much! I don't know why. It always makes me feel better after doing something. Do you still get any of the subscription art boxes?
This is the pencil sharpener that I use. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MGRF1ML/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=myartsupplyob-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B07MGRF1ML&linkId=a8b6f559348faddf18d4dc01c15f3e7b
Someday, I want to do a Waterfall Mountain landscape with some people and a house. I first want to sketch it with pencil. Then, outline it. Then, color with WINDSOR AND NEWTON MARKERS and COPIC MARKERS. Then, color in with PRISMACOLOR and CARAN D'ACHE COLORED PENCILS. How cool does that mixed media project sound? Oh. And mixed media paper.
I've used prismacolor exclusively for 30+ years. I think it's time to give something new a try. Thanks for inspiring my inner artist.
I just got my set today and I'm ecstatic! Now, I have to justify this purchase! Thank you for making this video!

I didn't know they changed the names. Thank you for letting me know. ☺

It really does make a difference in the quality of your art supplies. You don't have to be a professional to enjoy them. Have Fun! 😊
I'm so in love with the Luminance, I love the colors and smoothness, they blend so well and they're so beautiful 💜
Thank you for making this perfect swatching video! It helped me pick and choose which colors to buy! ♡
You're Welcome ☺

I wish I had your force of will. I already bought 76, waiting for them to come
I too would love to have these pencils. They are on my wish list. I am not currently working on an art project, but I should be. I want to improve my painting skills among other things. So, I will get there.
Would love to see a comparison video or all the caran d'ache pencils

I appreciate your comments, Michelle. I can certainly relate to your love of art supplies. 😊 I can also relate to having a kind husband. 💖

I do have a set of Pablos and I love them too. I even have a video review on my channel. 😊

Wanted to get the 100, Ended up with 76 cause of budget but I think they are enough.

Well, I love them all, but I'll just tell you my 2 favorite. The Essence and Woodlands sets.😊 I would start there. You won't be disappointed.
Can you do a review on the CARAN D'ACHE neopastels 96 set?
My hubby got me a new set of watercolors for Mother's Day. :) I really love those pencils but I don't use colored pencils enough to justify investing in a nicer set than I already have. I'm not getting any subscription boxes at the moment. That was so nice of your husband to get you watercolors for Mother's Day. 😊
I immediately ordered this because of 50% off! I got it for half of it's price!!
Wow!
Hello. What kind of sharpener do you use for your Luminance? Thank you.

What paper are you using? Thanks for swatching all of the colors. Definitely worth purchasing.
