    I see most of the comments below.....Coaching is not just technique. Nick Bollettieri is mostly known for his motivational skills . He has seen hundreds of students in his academy, and he has produced 10 # 1s throughout the years. Not many coaches have this kind of legacy. May of the technique tips Nick gives DO work as he is always just going back to basics. I have fixed many of my students' game by using some of the very simple coaching tips I got from Nick. It works. No doubt. I have also watche numerous motivatinal speeches give Nick and I learned a lot of stuff. Very humbling.

    Quite impressed with the girl. Her compact technique on forehand and backhand is very good. She hits quite cleanly whilst expending lot less energy than the other two guys.
    The other two guys need some work. The one with bad hair is arming and the coach keeps telling he's good. The other guy never listened to his instructions.

    Simple short take back. Yes! Start with great technique at a young age or it’s hard to fix

    1:26, the reason he can't do that is because he's got long arms.
    You can see when he's following Bollitieri's advice, his wrist looks uncomfortable.
    I don't think that's a technical fault, I think it's his own natural way of playing which he finds comfortable.

      yes; no need to adjust the backswing because it doesnt change the contact point:: terrible advice

      +Hung Phan These kids are older and getting ready for college tennis. It's not
      about the prettiest stroke, just about compact swings that will be
      reliable against heavy-hitters. Although the first kids forehand
      doesn't look "bad" when he's fed an easy ball, it's definitely too big
      of a swing for competitive match play.

    • @RickMartinYouTube

      +Hung Phan He first fix still didn't eliminate the loop on the forehand.

    • @mahksbauer
      @mahksbauer 8 лет назад +4

      Cause the kid doesn't understand. It's not the loop he's trying to eliminate, it's the size of the loop that may inhibit his ability to hit the ball early.

    • @lanaorg
      @lanaorg Год назад

      @@mahksbauer there are a lot of players on tour with big loops, its not a problem with early preparation... I don't see why it has to be fixed if it helps the boy to get extra free power and rhythm.

    I have watched so many of his instructional videos and have never been impressed. Never an AHA! moment. Definitely proves to me he never truly developed players from early stages, already groomed and seasoned just got to put it in the oven.

    main problem of volleys of girl is that she hit ball very late. she should hit ball in front of her, why Nick didn't see that obvious thing - that is the question

    a market ilusion from 1000 kids who are breaking thei wealth on hard court making their articulation waisted 1 kid go famous and make bolettiery rich.the others can be happy that maestro talk to them and take it their money.
    For example this trio is like a cow to be milked for bolettiery but he knows they got no talent to be pro.This is my opinion no mean to say that bolettieri is a bad coach.

    I think what happens is you get paid so much and have a reputation that even when a student is hitting well you have to find a reason to justify the lesson so you start talking out of your ass and then pretend the student is doing something wrong and pretend to fix it. However he gave good advice by showing the girl that she can't hit a backhand with a western grip... Even though she switched back to a western mid swing and he didn't catch it and told her good job.. lol.
    The black boys forehand is a little too complicated. Too many unnecessary movements. teach him Delpotro's simple forehand.

      @@willmakoto6230 At IMG they use JMDP as their model PRO. Also Roger Federer explicitly stated juniors should look at JMDP's forehand to model.
      Actually, it is one of the simplest, most efficient, most effective forehands in tennis [perhaps ever]. He also modified his own grip from a more western to a semi-western/eastern grip [basically in between and adjusts somewhat, which Roger does also].

    With people like Gulbis on the ATP tour I can't understand how he can be so hard on the kids backswing, there's 10 different other things he could have critiqued. Obviously, what he says to his stars is different than these kids but there are better coaches, no wonder he hasn't had a slam winner in many years.

    • @newtonfirefly3584
      @newtonfirefly3584 5 лет назад

      @ MC1796 ; Obviously You are very ignorant of all of the players who develop and have interaction, train with Nick and IMG.
      You are writing this in 2016 or previous [shows here three years ago], so Your information is actually false.
      What is "many years", how many?!
      Proofs: Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova
      Men's Tour since 2007 [or earlier] who have won all of the GS titles?
      Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray [odd one, Marin Cilic - runner-up Kei Nishikori (Nick-IMG)
      Not everyone one who plays on the Tour [ATP, WTA] become GS champions. There are some #1-4 ranked players who never won a GS.
      However, they also do have tournament titles and high level success.
      Do You know which of these or others will become a champion?!!
      It takes many years of dedicated work, effort, persistence, determination to achieve any success [the latter two are the most important (see Calvin Coolidge)].
      Am fairly certain that it will become known Naomi Osaka had connection and development with Nick too [father's connection with Mr. Williams, south Florida residence (moving there for tennis development)]
      Oh, and there are many young people who have come specifically to Nick-IMG from many countries abroad.
      The recent two YoungGen/NexGen Denis Shapovalov, Felix Auger-Aliassime are two examples who train at IMG.
      Oh, and Kei Nishikori is also an excellent example too. What do You know how much Nick-IMG have helped him achieve what he does too?!!
      To be a good student, means listening, accepting and changing = teachable.
      Nick has learned the sport/game of tennis, and continues to learn and improve.
      Also there are two young teens who come from IMG who are just starting on the WTA this year and are showing good progress already.
      Sincerely,
      :-)
