- On a previous trip we found several old mines in Ørsdalen, some of which can be seen on a guided tour. But according to an article there were supposed to be even more mines in the area, one in particular that was supposed to be located on a steep mountain hillside and out of reach.
Hiking for 8 hours, ascending more than 700 meters of elevation and using our drone to search the mountain we finally found the long-abandoned mine. Closed after World War II, this mine has been spared human visitors due to its inaccessible location and cannot be viewed from the valley below due to the steep angle.

Thanks for sharing. This is Mjåvassknuten, I guess?
Spot on, Mjåvassknuten it is! 😊
Your videos are amazing
Why did you stop,
Very interesting Thank you
Thanks, that means a lot! We bought a new house in 2022 and a lot of time has gone to tending to it. Hopefully we'll make some videos again soon 😊
Thanx for sharing this trip. Looks epic 🙂 I have to say 3:21 childish personified🤣🤣 gave me a god laugh😅 No wonder only men worked here😜 You 2 seem to be a couple of fit people and walked up there with no problem😃💪
We viseted this mine and went in the lower part of it. We tryed to spot the ladder from below but cant figure it out. Thx for the video, now we know how it looks at the top. Sadly you cant walk in the maineadit. Its more for the advanced rope climbers
What kind of camera do you using?
The ladder starts several hundred meters from the bottom of the valley and at an angle that makes it very hard to see (you can barely spot it from the main road between the parking lot and the big wheel). We're using a Nikon Z 6 and D750, paired with a 24-70 mm f4 here, and for dark places like mines we use the Samyang 24 mm f1.4 and Sigma 14 mm f1.8 .
