Yes this fucking sucks so bad I hate when people have this reaction because when everyone else does it's fine but when someone who doesn't know anything does it or when someone famous from twitch does it it's a fucking problem.......
I guess with people that has played a dozen of these, Holocure wouldn't really stick for a one time thing. A clear strong point is the many unique characters, but a one time playthrough can't really highlight them. Not only that, the first stage doesn't offer any uniqueness compared to the other survivors-like games. It isn't even hard for an experienced player, the 19 minute damage check is the only real problem since a new player wouldn't know about the collab upgrade.
For anyone who is interested in playing this the most effectively, here a small guide: On every character you max out first their signature weapon and skills in order to get these out of the level up shop. This will increase the chances to find the weapons and equipments you actually want. Ideally next you want to get equipments and the most important ones are the studying glasses and halu. Especially early you want the most gold effective to unlock further upgrades and all characters. So you want to max out Halu and Studying Glasses as early as you currently can. With higher g rank beating halu 5 becomes more likely. Due to the increased monster spawns you will gain more exp and gold. Later you will be able to finish collab after collab. In stage 1 you actually don't need any defensive items, they are only needed to clear the latter part of stage 3. So all you want is an item like the Face Mask which boosts your damage and takes no upgrades, which again helps your strategy to fish for your collab items later on. So which upgrades are the most effective ones? Ofc the Gold Gain and the Rerolls, because they will allow consistency going further into HoloCure. I can play stage 1 and force Halu 5 with exactly the collabs I want EVERY SINGLE TIME. I can't guarantee tho getting Halu as early as possible always.
idk how i feel about this episode, seems to be tethering the line between "disgruntled due to past experience" and "disrespect toward a niche that just happens to not be yours" i get how some part of it will seem weird to an outsider (don't worry, i also find some of it weird too), but i do have to say, at least how it sounds to me, there is a lot of "look at these stupid idiot who likes a thing i don't like" in this video, and it turned out to be an uncomfortable experience for both of us quite ironic that you talked about how if you like something on the internet, there will always be someone who hates your existence, and you appear to be partaking in that very activity in this very video.
Well, I thought he had a pretty decent perspective on the game. He may have had some strange experiences with vtuber fans, but he looks at the game as what it is and takes info on what he could understand. There are much worse reactions to vtubers that you could see, but I'd say he was pretty open for this video. I wouldn't call any of this disrespect, I just don't see it. At no point does he hate on it, It's just his thoughts as someone not invested in vtubers, and I think that's OK. Though, I would like to hear what you thoughts are on this video.
I don't really think he ever went that far. Just a, 'I can't relate and I probably don't like the genre very much. But otherwise charming fan game.' I will say it's undersold on that aspect. It's an excellent fan game.
There is an in-game list outlining what collabs are possible. When in a stage, just hit 'Esc', and you will have an option to pick 'Collabs', which lists available weapon Collabs (the equivalent of VS' evolutions). Depending on whether or not you've found or unlocked a given base weapon, some combos may not show up yet, but it should list all the currently available options for you. There's also a wiki that lists items and collabs. The game has a *ton* of content, and you've only just scratched the surface. Would love to see another stream on it in the future with your verdict once you've had more time with the characters and mechanics.
Unlocking the special makes each character more unique and more active. It's an aspect that I'm not sure if it's a good idea for it to have to be purchased in the shop because it's so important.
I think it's actually fine since you can unlock it literally after playing your first game since avg. Payout without spending on upgrades is like 1000-1200 coins
i know you said you wouldn't play this game past one video but i'll still recommend playing the game some more with other characters it gets pretty fun
Video title: "Why is this VTuber bullet heaven so good?" Wander in video: "Charming bullet heaven, but falls a bit flat in comparison to some of my favorites." The standards for "so good" are getting kind of low, eh? XD
the video being referenced by the enemies that start showing up at the 14 minute mark: ruclips.net/video/aetXqd9B8WE/видео.html (it is animated by the same person who made the game)
I would suggest to give it a try until stage 2 because with different mechanics from enemies and different enemies, you start having a lot more fun as the enemies are more engaging. Stage3 which is stage 1 on hard mode has a lot more engaging enemies and it's really fun.
It doesn't have anything to do inherently with RUclips, or Vtubers, or Sonic, or Homestuck, or My Little Pony, or Rick and Morty, or anything. It's people. People in general suck and are selfish and hateful. That's all there is to it.
Idk, the people who are vehemently against vtubers might just be really bad about expressing how tired they are of seeing a thing they're not into being everywhere, but that happens with anything and everything. Anyway, it feels weird to say this, but this is the most I've seen a run of this game look like Vampire Survivors. Well, up until where you unlocked the MiComet lmao Hope you enjoyed your pizza!
This was a pretty interesting video to watch. Watching a person that doesn't know anything about vtubers play a game made a vtuber fan is pretty interesting. What's amazing about the creation of this game is that the developers refuse to accept money for it. It's a passion project and if they started receiving donations it would become a job for them which they did not want. (It's not like they need the money anyway since the people making this game are successful animators and music composers)
it's no worries wander. just vtubers who do some idol stuff. each of them have there audiences and each of them do certain types of stream's. the one with the scythe does gaming talk show (dunno tbh) and she does quite a bit of music. the alien tentacle one does quite a bit of art and chill streams. the blue shark plays games but has the largest audience among them. the detective does gaming and seems to do some development videos (not as in dev more like original stuff) and the colored bird specializes in gaming and does a lot of talk shows of sorts. by the way this is not only for wander but for his fans who has no clue about the ones I mentioned. even my knowledge is rather limited of them. I hope this helps out a bit.
"i don't know who hololive is" it's huge and DEEP rabbit hole.. just know a lot of people have fallen in it and have had a VERY hard time getting out.. it's just that good...
Holocure is one of those games I downloaded for the memes but then actually kept on my computer. Also, as a vtuber fan, gotta say I loved the "dad trying to understand son's weird games" energy this had.
Thanks for playing Holocure! It's the sort of game that gets more fun as you unlock more stuff, so a second or third run would definitely be worth it. I recommend Calliope, just because her Death skill kills enemies in kind of a domino effect, very satisfying to watch.
one of the key differences between this game and VS is that every character has a unique starting weapon (that only they can use) and 3 unique skills that heavily affect the play style of that character. This coupled with the huge roster of characters makes for more unique builds and a lot more variety in how you play the game than with VS.
Im assuming you have chat while playing this so ill skip the tips and advices since its better for realtime q&a about the game with chat. With that being said, Im totally down for more holocure gameplay videos! 👍 22:19 MiComet collab
Brotato has a lot of choices and mechanical combos. Everything (or almost everything) you get takes away from your character, so you are way more involved in choices. Between the proximity triggers and cooldowns for different weapons, Brotato keeps you more focused in the actual game. That's why it feels a bit better to play.
I will say this. The level he was playing is more or less baby mode of the game. Difficulty due to traps ramps majorly in level 2 and the mid and final bosses are like those you would see in a bullet hell. And parts of level 3 are minutes of constant trap avoidance. Also most of the unlocked items have disadvantages making decisions harder if it should be taken. The games deeper than this one off play shows.
@@kagato3 I was talking more in general, since he compared Vampire to Brotato and mentioned Brotato engaged him more. Seeing this one playthrough and seeing you get to aim a bit, this is already better than Vampire. What I eventually disliked about Vampire (and this seem to do the same to a lesser extent) it's that it's a lot of lights and sounds for just random effects. Random attacks, random loot, huge boxes that give you a lightshow before giving you the money. It's too much effort wasted on looks.
@@malcomchase9777 1) if you use a dual stick then the right stick can be used to aim barring weapon limitations. 2) Something Wander does not bring up is the is a 100% free passion project fan game created by a professional an animator. so of course he would be focused on looks

Ngl, wished I didn't have a 12 year old craptop. I really want to play this game. But it actually overheats trying to play card games and DS games. This would probably set it ablaze. As for your situation, I mean I am new here but if you're still interested in a model don't let people shit on your dreams man. The whole concept has antis set around it unfortunately. I myself was sceptical about it until I actually watched one, then a couple and realized "It's literally normal people who 9/10 times just like their privacy, behind a character that actually gives them expression to an audience.". It wasn't really weird once I actually understood it. It's actually pretty cool in all reality. I think after seeing nothing changing about you post model, a lot of the people against it would probably come around to it.
If you show that model you took pride in, it will at least weed out the people who aren't here for you. While the stigma around vtubers is strong, the part of this community that is not just here for normie commentary will be here to support you. Don't let others push their expectations on you.
I know you will probably never play this again. But it sounded like you were bored because it was too easy. Stage 2 is much more active and I think you would enjoy it.
It is such a shame that you get any sort of hate and the attention of weirdos in your community, cause the majority of the Vtuber Community is pretty chill and just wants to see others succeed and take interest in vtubers.
thats because it is... well to be more precise asacoco is a type of fictional drug created by the famous Vtuber Kiryu Coco and that is the "Plug Type Asacoco" where the drug is injected the way you think it would be lol again its fictional though
Wanderbot: "I regret playing this." Also Wander: "This is actually good." Ngl, I never expect that you'll be playing this game since this is actually a Fan-made game and not actually your casual Indie devs.
Every fandom has those types of "Fans" I wouldn't worry too much about them. I've been a part and still a part of some of those die hard fandoms like kpop, hololive, anime, etc. It happens everywhere. Sorry to hear you didn't follow through since some people can be rude. Either way thanks for the video :) Also alot of these items are references to the vtubers in hololive. Alot of inside jokes.
I get it if you aren't interested in hololive or anime culture in general. The best I can do to explain what hololive is, most of the girls in holive are former streamers/performers in some way, they just one day stop streaming and new hololive girls pop up. Hololive gives the girls anything they need to stream, equipment, tech support, even deals with publishers to play certain games. If you are ever morbidly curious about hololive and vtubing I would recommend clips of Mori Calliope. That is also a thing, some vtuber fans don't even watch the streams we just watch the funny clips that get uploaded to youtube. So yeah check our Mori Calliope, she has some good rap music, if your ever curious and on a completely unrelated note have you heard of the indie music artist Demon Dice?

A clear strong point is the many unique characters, but a one time playthrough can't really highlight them.
Not only that, the first stage doesn't offer any uniqueness compared to the other survivors-like games. It isn't even hard for an experienced player, the 19 minute damage check is the only real problem since a new player wouldn't know about the collab upgrade.
For anyone who is interested in playing this the most effectively, here a small guide:
On every character you max out first their signature weapon and skills in order to get these out of the level up shop.
I can't guarantee tho getting Halu as early as possible always.
idk how i feel about this episode, seems to be tethering the line between "disgruntled due to past experience" and "disrespect toward a niche that just happens to not be yours"
i get how some part of it will seem weird to an outsider (don't worry, i also find some of it weird too), but i do have to say, at least how it sounds to me, there is a lot of "look at these stupid idiot who likes a thing i don't like" in this video, and it turned out to be an uncomfortable experience for both of us
quite ironic that you talked about how if you like something on the internet, there will always be someone who hates your existence, and you appear to be partaking in that very activity in this very video.
This is a really great free game with tons of good Hololive references.
XD
the video being referenced by the enemies that start showing up at the 14 minute mark:
ruclips.net/video/aetXqd9B8WE/видео.html
(it is animated by the same person who made the game)
MiComet = Elite Lava Bucket + Psycho Axe
Elite Cooking = Spider Cooking+ ELB
Breathe-In-Type Asacoco = Plugin Type Asacoco + Holobomb
That's what I know of
I would suggest to give it a try until stage 2 because with different mechanics from enemies and different enemies, you start having a lot more fun as the enemies are more engaging. Stage3 which is stage 1 on hard mode has a lot more engaging enemies and it's really fun.
Still can't believe that this game is free.
It's a fan game. If it is, then Hololive's company Cover Corp. Will buy the game and the codes
It would be under GM license
i love Kay Yu's art so when i heard that she made a hololive bullet hell..i fell in love with it
It doesn't have anything to do inherently with RUclips, or Vtubers, or Sonic, or Homestuck, or My Little Pony, or Rick and Morty, or anything. It's people. People in general suck and are selfish and hateful. That's all there is to it.
There is such a thing as selective pressures
Magic survival on the mobile stores is a really good Bullet Heaven game, I highly recommend it.
"like the whip, but less problematic"
Holy molly this dude...
Well, up until where you unlocked the MiComet lmao
Hope you enjoyed your pizza!
HoloCure is ridiculously good.
it's no worries wander. just vtubers who do some idol stuff. each of them have there audiences and each of them do certain types of stream's.
the one with the scythe does gaming talk show (dunno tbh) and she does quite a bit of music.
the alien tentacle one does quite a bit of art and chill streams.
the blue shark plays games but has the largest audience among them.
the detective does gaming and seems to do some development videos (not as in dev more like original stuff)
and the colored bird specializes in gaming and does a lot of talk shows of sorts.
by the way this is not only for wander but for his fans who has no clue about the ones I mentioned. even my knowledge is rather limited of them. I hope this helps out a bit.
its on steam now, might check it out again
the game really starts when you get super abilities
Your lost for not continuing this game. It is good as a stand alone game.
A bullet heaven with a legit story to it, sounds like an interesting concept.
Kinda refreshing to see an outsider perspective on this game since all I have heard from this is mostly within fandom
"i don't know who hololive is"
it's huge and DEEP rabbit hole.. just know a lot of people have fallen in it and have had a VERY hard time getting out.. it's just that good...
Holocure is one of those games I downloaded for the memes but then actually kept on my computer.
Also, as a vtuber fan, gotta say I loved the "dad trying to understand son's weird games" energy this had.
I love his confused reaction to fubuzilla. xD
This coupled with the huge roster of characters makes for more unique builds and a lot more variety in how you play the game than with VS.
ah shit, wander stepped one foot into the rabbit hole.
don't fall in wander. there is no getting out.
you're looking at a victim. please send help

This is the first time I've been to this channel so I thought that character on the thumbnail was there because you use it as a model.
I love how the CEO yagoo is such a meme he's a got a bust in the center there at the start and a body pillow item.
I would like to add my voice into the social pressure to make you play some more and try out the other characters 😊
I do kinda want to see the vtuber model you have...
Mark my words, Wanderbot WILL fall into the rabbit hole
Oh no... Wander stumbled the vtuber rabbit hole
"i am going to regret playing this" how right was this man
Wanderbot is more cultured than expected
Thank you for playing wanderbot
Im assuming you have chat while playing this so ill skip the tips and advices since its better for realtime q&a about the game with chat.
With that being said, Im totally down for more holocure gameplay videos! 👍
22:19 MiComet collab
@@malcomchase9777 You can skip the lightshow in Holocure.
@@malcomchase9777 1) if you use a dual stick then the right stick can be used to aim barring weapon limitations.
2) Something Wander does not bring up is the is a 100% free passion project fan game created by a professional an animator. so of course he would be focused on looks
@@kagato3 I'm not saying it's a bad game. I'm go he said about enjoying Brotato more than Survivors now.
And what does being the passion project of an animator change? If it's focused on looks, it's focused on looks.
Carbs are pretty bad. I didn't realize it until I stopped eating them completely. I went from 300 pounds to 150 in a very short amount of time.
Wanders instant choice of the tentacle character made me laugh out loud
If you first tried playing it before the last big update, you might want to try again because they improved the performance issues it had before.
Not the crossover I expected.
Stage 2 is much more active and I think you would enjoy it.
try stage 2 its imensly harder
Surprised you didn't go BL Book to combine with Axes after you were told about it. xD
Lmao, wasn't expecting to see this show up here.
the game just got a huge update btw, hope you check it out!
I'm away for the weekend, so I'll get to it next week.
It is such a shame that you get any sort of hate and the attention of weirdos in your community, cause the majority of the Vtuber Community is pretty chill and just wants to see others succeed and take interest in vtubers.
Wander you might like returnal it's a rougelike with time loop elements and a story
Did a whole series on it back when I used to do those!
Wanderbot vtuber let's go?!
The tail... it looks like a buttplug. D:
thats because it is... well to be more precise asacoco is a type of fictional drug created by the famous Vtuber Kiryu Coco and that is the "Plug Type Asacoco" where the drug is injected the way you think it would be lol again its fictional though
Yooo! HoloCure is amazing!
Anyone else think this music fucking slaps?
have you played "bullet heaven" by matt rozak? it's more a touhou bullet hell game, but the name is on point for this video at least
my favorite new hobby is people who know NOTHING about vtubers trying this game out
Fyi for me the best dps collab is mi comet. Which is lava bucket.and axe
wonder i love you and vtuber i will gladly whatch another video in this
Wanderbot: "I regret playing this."
Also Wander: "This is actually good."
Ngl, I never expect that you'll be playing this game since this is actually a Fan-made game and not actually your casual Indie devs.
Every fandom has those types of "Fans" I wouldn't worry too much about them. I've been a part and still a part of some of those die hard fandoms like kpop, hololive, anime, etc. It happens everywhere. Sorry to hear you didn't follow through since some people can be rude. Either way thanks for the video :)
Also alot of these items are references to the vtubers in hololive. Alot of inside jokes.
its really confuse me that holocure a FREE fan made game given its polish and amount of content it had...
I'd suggest you play on the harder levels if you believe the first one is boring.
wander imma need u to tell me how you're aiming while moving
I forget if I was using KB+M or Controller, but one of those lets you aim & move simultaneously.
Controller lets you twinstick for aiming
Glad you're trying this out but understandable that the weird elements pushed you from picking this up earlier.
Hey a member of the Yogscast is playing this is my next video.
Bullet Heaven? As in the shmup spinoff of the parody RPG series Epic Battle Fantasy?
Reverse bullet hell = bullet heaven.
This is the first time I've heard of Bullet Heaven. Can I ask the what's the difference between that, and Bullet Hells?
Bullet Hell = Centered around dodging increasingly elaborate bullet patterns while occasionally fireing on enemies when you get a brief window (e.g. Touhou)
Bullet Heaven = Centered around creating the increasingly elaborate bullet pattern while enemies rush you zombie-style (e.g. Vampire Survivors, Horocure)
Now I just imagine god frisbeeing lava pizzas down to Earth to help the tentacle cult achieve total anime chick supremacy.
Bruh, I'm just trying to put this shit on my steam deck, but Brotato got my attention right now
It takes a bit of fanagling but it's do able. Runs pretty smoothly til you get full screens of fans.
