I purchased an Eb Bass and I named it Albert. It's the only name fitting for such a beautiful horn. Al was the kindest sweetest soul. In my 4 years in the NYSB I was bullied very badly. Al was one of the only people who stood up for me and tried to make things better. Sometimes people are taken from us too early. Al was one of them.
Beautiful tone, good intonation, well played.
Much as I love this one, "The Call of the Righteous" remains my #1 from Leslie Condon.
Wonderful solo playing well done !
Heard composer play this in Leeds Town Hall.
Mo M0TXK i heard him play it in Los Angeles in 1962.
Leslie Condon died at 55; the soloist Captain Albert A. Honsberger, Jr., died of lung cancer at 39. Celestial mourning indeed.
