I feel like the 2019 side is very “safe” and just kind of followed RUclipsr make up trends - 2022 is a greater expression of your personality and character! It’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea for sure but it’s authentic for who you are now and such a cool video to see your makeup evolution! :)

I love how you did both 2019 and 2022, the first one looks more “natural” and the 2022 looks to me like you developed more confidence in branching out and trying new things, which is hard to do but either way you will always look gorgeous!:)
Definitely prefer the 2022 side! It’s more “this is my personality coming through” than the 2019 version that seems a bit more like “this is how everyone else does it so I’m doing it this way too”. Really nice to see you posting a bit more! Hope you’re doing well :)

I’m not a fan of straight eyebrows for myself but I’ve seen you and Sophdoeslife do them and they honestly really suit you! I do think the 2022 version looks much better and you look so much more confident now it’s so nice to see! Xx

I personally love the 2019 side since it looks a bit more glowy and natural. However, I would do it a little less orange but I still love how dramatic the wing looks now as long with your new eyebrow shape definitely helps with the lifting look! :)

I do prefer the more natural 2019 side, especially the eyebrow shape, it suits your face better in my opinion. The lip shape of the 2022 side however does look a lot better than the 2019 one..... maybe you could try a mixture of the 2 different styles? :)

Your 2022 makeup seems more inspired by Korean makeup trends which I ADORE!! The eyeliner is also the most flattering way to do on hooded eye, I love it so SO much Soph! I'm going to copy this tutorial right now and see if I look as good as you do!! 🥰🥰 :) :) :)
2019 version is very natural and safe which still suits you really well but the 2022 side looks more bubbly and brings out your fun carefree personality more which looks amazing! Overall the new techniques bring an added confidence and I’m here for it! :)💕
The 2019 side is like such a throwback, I feel like everyone was just getting the hang of a full face natural-ish look and beginning to get better and better at perfecting their make-up skills, but 2022 side is a perfect representation of everyone finally finding their own unique styles, things that they like and dislike apart from trends. 2022 makeup is basically about self expression and things that make people feel confident, it's like applying all things you've learnt in 2019 in the real world! 🤭
I do prefer a lot of the 2019 look but I also really like the 2022 look. For me personally it would end up being a mix of the two looks just because I like some of the more natural aspects of 2019 specifically the blush and eyebrows but everything else I definitely prefer the 2022 side

I love both sides! Tbh 2019 makeup is more my style yet i do use the “sunkissed” blush technique and eyeliner as a wing and in my waterline. I definitely think that your 2022 makeup is more unique to yourself and shows your personality more instead of the 2019 makeup looking like everyone else lol. (Just a tip with the eyeliner that i learnt from and expert and makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE! Opt for a winged liner that goes on an angle up rather than down as it gives the eye a more lifted look whereas when your eyeliner is straight across or angled down it makes your eyes look droopier. Placement of the eyeliner is also important as if you put it too low on the eye it can look very strange so a lot of mua’s do the bottom line of their eyeliner connecting to the waterline which gives them the perfect placement. However, some mua’s don’t like to have a black waterline so they stop the black halfway into their waterline and then blend in with white liner the rest of the way into the inner corner. I find this makes my eyes look SOOO lifted and beautiful. It is personal preference though and you look beautiful either way Sophie!) This was such a cool video and I’m glad you are starting this “series” again :)
The 2022 side definitely shows your progress and your shift into using techniques and makeup that work for your facial features and preferences , self - expression will always win for me :)
I love the confidence the 2022 side gives you! You seem more sure of what you’re doing with your makeup and aren’t following others and feeling like you’re doing it ‘wrong’. There’s definitely parts of each makeup routines I like, but overall the 2022 side is so much better! X

I feel like if you took some parts of the 2019 make up and some parts of 2022 it would be a perfect mix 💛 I used to do white liner like that and personally I found it was much better when I started using a more nude liner instead. But it doesn’t matter what we say, you look beautiful when you are confident in yourself so wear it how you like it soph! X :)

Watching this has made me realize I haven't changed my makeup since 2019 at all (except that I rarely wear it these days, working from home) and that I should start experimenting with some different looks! I like how your makeup has evolved and that you're doing what you like and not just the boring norm! :)
I threw most of my makeup away in the beginning of this year due to it all having expired over the rona period and also just generally being too depressed to wear makeup + not leaving the house obvs, so I've been steadily trying to get a new makeup collection going and I hope to evolve my look this year and experiment more, it's amazing how our looks evolve over the years but you only truly notice when you actually look back at old pictures, I'm sure in 5 years time we'll all look back at our 2022 makeup and wonder what we were doing too :)
i feel like the now version of your makeup is much more fun and youthful, whereas the 2019 version was more neutral and mature. i much prefer the 2022 version! makeup is such a fun way to show your personality and creativity, which is exactly what you're doing with it now. and who cares if some people don't like how you do your blush or brows or eyeliner? if you like it and are comfortable, that's all that matters. i personally do quite bold and out of the box makeup because that's just who i am as a person, and i love it even though it's certainly not everyone's cup of tea! :)

I think that the make up of 2022 Sophie shows a much more confident person who's not afraid to show her individuality whereas the "safe" make up of 2019 Sophie shows person who doesn't want to stand out. Personally I wouldn't wear the 2022 make up style as it wouldn't suit me but I would be interested to see how the 2022 shades would look in 2019 style or even maybe a mixed of the 2 styles together. Either way you're a beautiful person Sophie and its great to see another make up video. All the best for 2022.
I prefer the 2019 side as an "everyday" look and the 2022 side for going out or filming! They both have their upsides :)

The 2019 eyes and eyebrow shape suit your face shape better, but the color of your eyebrow in 2022 matches your hair better. The shade match of your 2022 foundation is much better, lol. And I think the 2022 blush/contour, and lip shape fit you well.
See i learnt from a video that the straight brows are supposed to suit my face shape better.. which is why i started doing them in the first place! but i'm wondering if it's not true after all haha ❤

I like a little bit of both to be honest, on the 2022 side I love the foundation colour, eyeliner, lips, nose contour, while on the 2019 side I like the mascara (without the lower lashes drawn on as on 2022), and the bright highlight.
But what is more important, is that you do it in your way, so you feel confident in it, and see yourself the beautiful gorgeous person that you are ❤️ :)
The fan brush is such a throwback to 2019 Sophie! 2022 definitely looks more “you” and I love the eyeliner. Makeup is supposed to make u feel more confident so that automatically makes 2022 the better side :)

You look better with 2019 make up I don't get why ppl are lying to you. You asked and so 2019 looks so much better because now the liner is so wrong on your eyes. It drags your eyes down and you have such pretty eyes. The blush is cute and your brows are good but your liner completely distracts them. Your blush is abit too high you look sunburnt abit or like you been slapped.

The 2022 side is definitely a better shade of foundation and I like that you are more confident talking about makeup and in yourself! I prefer the 2022 side because you just seem more comfortable doing trends you previously didn’t feel you suited like the winged liner:)

These videos are so fun to watch! Its crazy how different the color is. When you did your 2019 makeup it looked completely fine, but now compared to 2022, it looks really dark and orangey. Always thought it looked good anyway. :)
I feel like everyones makeup and whole style changed massively due to lockdown. It gave us the opportunity to re-invent ourselves. It’s crazy how much the people around me had changed after I saw them again after lockdown ended. I also feel like your current makeup really encapsulates todays makeup trends. Both sides look good. There are preferences on each side but what matters is what you like. We all like our own thing and it’s great to see how much makeup makes us grow and change over time and what new techniques we use.

Idea for video(series), your subscribers could send you their makeup looks/what is trendy in their country/how they made their makeup earlier, and you'd compare them side by side or match the year of the makeup style with how you did it in that year (like subscriber year 2015 on one side and other side would be yours in 2015, or on one side trendy in Greek and other trendy in Chile!) I'm so happy to see your videos again! :)

I love the 2022 :) I recently shaved the ends of my eyebrows off, started putting pink blush across my nose and cheeks and started doing eyeliner just like you. It really suits you and I think it’s just personal preference because it’s a slightly more alternative style x

I always think it's so weird to see videos like this, you don't see a big difference just looking back, but once you put them next to each other, it's mindblowing how big the difference can be :)
I like bits from both of them! I am personally not a fan of the blusher or the fake lower lashes with eyeliner on the 2022 side but I think everything else from that side is better!
At the end of the day its all going to be personal preference though and whatever YOU prefer and feel most comfortable in is going to be the best because that's what makes you unique and confident 😊

both sides look great honestly. I still love watching these videos, i haven't really used much makeup since covid started because i dont like the feeling of foundation under the mask, so i mostly stick to eye makeup

I am still practicing with make up and I could not stop staring at the 2022 side of your face. How you do your eyes now definitely makes them pop and look wider. I am going to try the drawing lashes on the bottom, as I feel that I always look like I have no lashes there haha. I am also taking away the top of highlighter and contour from the 2022 side, that looks gorgeous :)
Try slightly lowering your blush so it isn’t right under your eyes and draw your eyeliner up rather than straight it would give you that lifted effect (I also have hooded eyes so feel your pain ☹️) but I love your confidence and your willingness to experiment and not look like everyone else!!
