Good work always comes from confidence--- as you are. It's easy to see when a virtuoso has found their voice! Touché Erica! Lovely work.

Beautiful pieces! You have such a definite artistic style.😊 I personally find that so difficult to do in my own art practice. I'm taking my first ceramics class this summer since college 30 years ago. So I've been brushing up on long forgotten basics by watching all the utube potters. Tripple bonus for being a knitter who does watercolor in the pnw! 🎉 p.s. will spring ever show up this year? Im still wearing all my wool in Washington!

Aww thank you so much Heather!! Oh goodness I hope you love your class! Ceramics is honestly my favorite artform! The possibilities are just endless!
I'm not a professional but if you have any questions I'm always happy to help.
And I am still waiting!! Oregon isn't letting go of winter either. We just went to Seattle and I can say we have the same weather. 😂😂

This woman in my pottery co-op uses underglazes over glossy white glaze. We even fire them at Cone 10 and they look great!

Oh that's good to know! I tried it over a satin matte, but maybe a gloss would be better. 🙏 Thank you!

Hi Erica...just found your channel and subscribed..LOVE your pieces especially the mug you did with the UG over the matte white. That mug looks like a foggy morning camping...LOVE IT! (and p.s. I do not camp, but boy I would love to have that mug in a tent on a foggy morning) Hope to see more videos from you. Thanks, Marie from New Jersey

My gosh oh mighty!!! You do such amazing work!!! Love every dang thing. Just a note. Be careful putting flat pieces Over two shelves since everything expands and contracts while it’s being fired. It will cause your piece to crack. Realllly love the way you put the crystal glazes on the rims. I was just thinking if you make mugs that have a summer background the start night glaze combo on the rim would look sooo amazing!! OMG! I told my husband about the silica dust and now he’s being crazy about it! Hahaha. I can’t get my husband to do anything with clay either!! He does love punching my new blocks of clay though. Hahaha. I had several bags of clay that were a bit hard and I needed to wake it up. I usually take the bag outside abs drop in on all 6 sides several times. Well my husband being a literal karate master had the idea of him punching the clay to wake it up!! That’s the last time he touched clay.

Oh thank you so much Michele! I loved this comment. So funny about your husband. 😂 And thank you for that tip! I don't usually put things on the crack, but figured it was safe because they were smaller. Thankfully it worked out. Haha! I appreciate you and your tips, encouragement, and funny stories! 😊😊

Thank you Carol! I do say what each glaze is for each piece, but can try to make it clearer next time. 🙏

How did you keep it from warping without a foot?

I'm guessing you mean the plates. I just made sure they were weighed down during their drying. So using kitty litter filled bags I place them on the piece basically as soon as I shape it and then leave them on until bisque firing. 😊 Using a slightly thicker slab helps too. Hope that helps! 🙏

Beautiful pieces. I misunderstood the title, so I thought you were going to show how you made the pieces, so I was disappointed that you didn't show how you made them. However, that was probably my mistake. I'd have liked to see how you made the pieces, though.
