I actually really loved whenever they gave Lana a chance to be "not yourself". Kristen always knocked it out of the park and showed how underutilized her talent was. She's phenomenal.
Problem with Lana is around Season 3 she started to become a Lex Lite and by Season 6, it was intolerable. I love Kristin as a person, but really just wanted Lana to go away after season 3. They just didn't know what to do with the character.

Kristen kreuk has aged like fine wine. She’s obviously in her forties but damn she looks really good. No cosmetic or enhancements. Skin and hair are in good condition and most importantly she looks healthy good for her. She almost looks like she hasn’t aged a day since smallville ended. She literally looks the same. She has great genetics. Glad to see she’s in good spirits.
It really should though hahahaha this episode was so ridiculous but it felt like they were trying to be serious.. if it felt like the whole episode was quirky that'd be one thing, but they were trying to push a serious (ish?) storyline with it that made it so cheeseballs. Rosie was generous. Then again, maybe 20 years ago I thought it was cool as fuck. Who knows lol

I know for a fact this episode is a fan favorite. Remember at the time, hearing and reading how _so_ many people loved this episode. So take that to heart. The fans love it regardless of it being ridiculous. It's a fun partially-filler episode.
Absolutely one of my favourite episodes, I loved watching Clark and Lana dancing in the barn and Tom shirtless restrained while Lana objectifies Clark. A frequently replayed scene was the possession of Lois and the witch being very appreciative of her new vessel…
I guess I’m in the minority. 😂 It’s one of my least favorite episodes, and the whole witch arc for season 4. I just found it hokey and corny. I will say though Clark dancing in the barn will never not be funny! It always cracks me up. 🤣

The thing to me is that this is a 2000s show , a new type of genre. Superhero mixed with teenage drama/ soap opera. Its a universe in which comic, science fiction, things happen. Its done ON PURPOSE. Any show that has a super powered alien that can lift tractors, run faster than sound shoot fire from his eyes is not gonna be strong on how things wirk in real life. It's basically a live action cartoon. Not sure what's expected here. Or lectures on great acting or good plots. Yes its silly......the premise alone will promise that. The production is great, effects really good for the time , acting is decent. Stories are what they are. Its been 4 seasons now. Not sure what the hang up is. The next two seasons are a mix of things. But once they get further its gonna get even more comicy.
The dancing scene with Clark and Isobel/Lana and the guy from Princeton live in my head rent free 😂 It was hilarious lmao Clark's dancing, the recruiter's reaction to the chaos at that party and seeing Clark dancing with Isobel priceless🤣
Tom "What you waiting for" was hilarious, dancing in the barn😂. Gwen was huge! Spell was obviously Charmed inspired. Not that great episode but it was fun. LOVE that Kristin ❤ is here again!

It’s especially telling how talented Kristen is given she was unwell during shooting and not only showed up but gave a lovely performance. I got to meet Tom, John Glover, Michael, and Kristin at Galaxycon, I was just in awe how beautiful Kristin is in person. Got a selfie with her, she's the sweetest, one of my prized souvenirs from Galaxycon that year.
There should be 2 Talkvilles for Spell. One for the regular episode and one for the episode with the cast commentary. 😂 The main plot is kind of silly, but we have some major moments out of this: Sexy Lana/Isabelle, crazy Lex playing the piano nonstop, dork Clark's dancing and somewhere along the way they remember about the Stones Of Knowledge! Far from the best episode, but a classic in its own way.
@@nerdygiant7805 Sacred in general puts the season and its main arc in focus. Unfortunately it taked 15 episodes to get there and there are 6 episodes between Spell and Sacred where the Stones are mostly forgotten.
@@Costas22 Hey bud. I'm returning to this comment because I'm caught up with the episodes of smallville and with talkville podcast and I've gotta say you are so wrong. I initially didn't respond because I genuinely couldn't remember, however: You're wrong about your take of the next 6 episodes between this one and sacred. They are all amazing, especially the ones with alicia (two of them). Those six episodes actually really highlight the season. Where season 3 was the most creative as far as the writing, season four was the best season when it came to character development. Many things that happen in these six episode set up the stage for the next 6 seasons.
And yes thank you to Kristin for doing this episode and gracing us with her presence. I would love to see a seasonal sit-down with a few cast members to do a kind of season cap and have a few of you guys together. I wish you guys really knew what this show probably did for a lot of us fans. I’m sure you guys hear it at Cons though and just know that it’s really like that for us. You made us laugh when maybe we didn’t think it was possible that day, and smile. And for 40 minutes just gave us a trip into Smallville, which is why we will always hold on to Smallville!
This scene introduced me to that Gwen Stefani song.😃 Somehow I missed it during its air play whenever it was released to the radio. But when I heard it when watching that scene I immediately LOVED it. Still one of my favorites by her to this day.

This was such a great and fun talkville episode, seeing the iconic Smallville trio reunited is such a treat you still have wonderful chemistry! I'm so glad you finally got Kristin back on Talkville I love whenever she comes on the pod and we get to hear her bts stories and takes on the show. If she was on more often I bet she would be a great ally to Tom when it comes to balance and counter Michael's negativity towards the show. Sidenote: I can't believe that she was sick while filming "Spell" she looked so stunning in the episode! Also Krsitin and Tom's chemistry in that barn scene was on 🔥

I love Kristen Kreuk, she is a great actress and I really enjoyed your guys’ conversation with her and I can’t wait for her new tv show to come out. She is even more beautiful now than she was when Smallville started. I definitely agree with you Michael when you said to her that there isn’t any outfit that she doesn’t look good in. I saw her in the Reacher show in the first season and she did a great job with all of her scenes; and I will be honest I was not prepared to hear her talking with that very southern accent she had in that, but I got used to it real quick and she honestly really made that accent work. Lana was always one of my favorite Smallville characters and she has one of the best character arcs in the show. For the longest time I was rooting for Lana and Clark to pretty much always be together romantically, until after a few seasons of Lois, being in the show, because, of course, you just can’t beat the chemistry between Lois and Clark, but Lana and Clark’s chemistry is really close. I think it would be very fun to see you Michael, and Tom Welling, and Kristen in a movie together as the main 3 stars, although what it would be I do not know. Also, it’s a shame you guys didn’t love this episode, I always loved this episode. I always just thought it was really fun and ridiculous in all the best ways possible! I honestly give it 2 roses 🌹
Michael and Ryan are way too serious! Spell is a fun episode lol it’s fun to see Kristin do something different and yeah it’s kind of zainy but it’s high camp and amazing 😂 You could tell Tom and Kristin thought the episode wasn’t to bad. They could appreciate the work that went into it at least.
I mean Ryan gave it the same rating as Tom. As he said for his favorite scene, you get to a point where you just give in and get on the same wavelength as the silly. Whereas Michael gets to a point where he just gives in to being grumpy for the rest of the episode :P

It's hard to believe that she's not married and spends all her time reading and in classes as well as still acting...These arc episodes are the best of Season 4. She did a great job in this role as a witch seeking power, who was a good nemesis for Clark. Kristen acting out of Lana's usual character was always well acted, she's so modest.
It felt like Hocus Pocus when watching this episode with the slight change of witch possession using humans as vessels. This is the start of the witches coven and Genevieve Teagues storyline and her history with Lana's ancestor.

One of the weirdest and funniest episodes of the whole series 😂 I thought the beginning was a little creepy and thought Kristin did a great job. I loved the awkward dancing scene and thought Lex played the piano beautifully. Thank you guys for having Kristin on again and for another episode ❤️

Love this podcast and y’all. I am so glad that y’all got Kristen on the podcast. The cackle that she does as Isabella is amazing. I thought that all of the actress did a great job on this episode. Definitely a Hocus Pocus inspired episode. I loved how Annette delivered her line of a bet it was a great line. I enjoyed Tom’s dancing in the episode. I thought the piano scene was well done especially when Clark saved him. The scene where Jason is thrown against the wall was great training for Super Natural. Lex looked good in his purple. One of the reasons that Shazam can hurt Superman is because he got his powers from magic. Loved the Gwen Stefani song What are you Waiting For. Loved the the barn at midnight thing. No John Glover. Loved the reveal that Lex got Jason fired. Love the head tilt.
I thought both Kristin and Allison both had a great cackle, it's just a pity that Erica didn't get a chance to contribute also. Loved how much of a Supernatural role that Jenson had in this episode, with an artifact to burn.
I love getting a chance to see the honest feelings from your co-stars when they come on. It helps open up the dynamic and I’m happy to see more of the personalities of all of you.

The main plot is kind of silly, but we have some major moments out of this: Sexy Lana/Isabelle, crazy Lex playing the piano nonstop, dork Clark's dancing and somewhere along the way they remember about the Stones Of Knowledge!
Far from the best episode, but a classic in its own way.
I think the episode where they go to asia makes the whole isabelle are worthwhile.
@@nerdygiant7805 Sacred in general puts the season and its main arc in focus. Unfortunately it taked 15 episodes to get there and there are 6 episodes between Spell and Sacred where the Stones are mostly forgotten.

You're wrong about your take of the next 6 episodes between this one and sacred. They are all amazing, especially the ones with alicia (two of them). Those six episodes actually really highlight the season. Where season 3 was the most creative as far as the writing, season four was the best season when it came to character development. Many things that happen in these six episode set up the stage for the next 6 seasons.

I would love to see a seasonal sit-down with a few cast members to do a kind of season cap and have a few of you guys together. I wish you guys really knew what this show probably did for a lot of us fans. I’m sure you guys hear it at Cons though and just know that it’s really like that for us. You made us laugh when maybe we didn’t think it was possible that day, and smile. And for 40 minutes just gave us a trip into Smallville, which is why we will always hold on to Smallville!

This was such a great and fun talkville episode, seeing the iconic Smallville trio reunited is such a treat you still have wonderful chemistry! I'm so glad you finally got Kristin back on Talkville I love whenever she comes on the pod and we get to hear her bts stories and takes on the show. If she was on more often I bet she would be a great ally to Tom when it comes to balance and counter Michael's negativity towards the show. Sidenote: I can't believe that she was sick while filming "Spell" she looked so stunning in the episode! Also Krsitin and Tom's chemistry in that barn scene was on 🔥

I love Kristen Kreuk, she is a great actress and I really enjoyed your guys’ conversation with her and I can’t wait for her new tv show to come out. She is even more beautiful now than she was when Smallville started. I definitely agree with you Michael when you said to her that there isn’t any outfit that she doesn’t look good in. I saw her in the Reacher show in the first season and she did a great job with all of her scenes; and I will be honest I was not prepared to hear her talking with that very southern accent she had in that, but I got used to it real quick and she honestly really made that accent work. Lana was always one of my favorite Smallville characters and she has one of the best character arcs in the show. For the longest time I was rooting for Lana and Clark to pretty much always be together romantically, until after a few seasons of Lois, being in the show, because, of course, you just can’t beat the chemistry between Lois and Clark, but Lana and Clark’s chemistry is really close. I think it would be very fun to see you Michael, and Tom Welling, and Kristen in a movie together as the main 3 stars, although what it would be I do not know. Also, it’s a shame you guys didn’t love this episode, I always loved this episode. I always just thought it was really fun and ridiculous in all the best ways possible! I honestly give it 2 roses 🌹

Michael and Ryan are way too serious! Spell is a fun episode lol it’s fun to see Kristin do something different and yeah it’s kind of zainy but it’s high camp and amazing 😂 You could tell Tom and Kristin thought the episode wasn’t to bad. They could appreciate the work that went into it at least.
I mean Ryan gave it the same rating as Tom. As he said for his favorite scene, you get to a point where you just give in and get on the same wavelength as the silly. Whereas Michael gets to a point where he just gives in to being grumpy for the rest of the episode :P

It's hard to believe that she's not married and spends all her time reading and in classes as well as still acting...These arc episodes are the best of Season 4. She did a great job in this role as a witch seeking power, who was a good nemesis for Clark. Kristen acting out of Lana's usual character was always well acted, she's so modest.

Love this podcast and y’all. I am so glad that y’all got Kristen on the podcast. The cackle that she does as Isabella is amazing. I thought that all of the actress did a great job on this episode. Definitely a Hocus Pocus inspired episode. I loved how Annette delivered her line of a bet it was a great line. I enjoyed Tom’s dancing in the episode. I thought the piano scene was well done especially when Clark saved him. The scene where Jason is thrown against the wall was great training for Super Natural. Lex looked good in his purple. One of the reasons that Shazam can hurt Superman is because he got his powers from magic. Loved the Gwen Stefani song What are you Waiting For. Loved the the barn at midnight thing. No John Glover. Loved the reveal that Lex got Jason fired. Love the head tilt.
I thought both Kristin and Allison both had a great cackle, it's just a pity that Erica didn't get a chance to contribute also. Loved how much of a Supernatural role that Jenson had in this episode, with an artifact to burn.
