Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday that any French military troops on the Ukrainian territory will represent a legitimate target for Russian forces.
"As for the question of French instructors, I have reason to believe, and there are many concrete facts, that they are already operating in Ukraine. Whoever they are, whether they are members of the French Armed Forces or simply mercenaries, they represent a legitimate target for our armed forces," Lavrov noted during a press briefing.
Previously, it was reported that France could send its military instructors to Ukraine this week, despite the risk of direct conflict with Russia.

The "Norm" everyone is wringing their hands about was broken 2 years ago when Russia started down that path. However, if Ukraine defeats Russia militarily and in the eyes of the global community, it saves Europe and the West the money we will have to spend to ourselves defeat Russia. Forbes today estimated Ukrainian mineral resources at 15 trillion dollars. This applies only to the territory of Donbass, Dnepropetrovsk and one other region, I forgot which one. If Ukrainian mineral resources are worth so much, the question begs to be asked: what is the value of Russian mineral resources, since Russia is the richest country in the world? The West has so far invested about $600 billion in the conflict in Ukraine, which is 26% of all dollars that are in the United States. If a person invests a quarter of his entire property in such an expensive project, costing more than seven times his entire property ($2.26 trillion), then it becomes clear that this person will not stop halfway. Therefore, world war is inevitable.

Credit to Zelensky for his careful and forthright parsing on matters in Israel-Palestine. What he has to say on those matters, is well aligned with the predominant global view, and with the view of formally educated youth (from whose numbers future leaders will come) in the West. Zelensky's clear sight and clear speaking, offering a glaring contrast with Western governments who have become entrapped in dysfunctional triangulation regards Israel, its actions, and the history out of which matters have arisen.

He takes the risk of pushing back on the public declarations (regards Israel-Palestine) by governments currently central to support for Ukraine. Where, and this the crucial aspect, he aligns himself with the view of Israel-Palestine, that is likely to dominate in the future. He is doing what he has done since the beginning of Russian aggression; namely carefully cultivating the potential donor field: not alienating current donors; expanding the potential donor group; walking the tightrope of securing current and longer term support for Ukraine's defence against Russian aggression.

Moscow will support Afghanistan’s accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) if the Taliban movement, currently outlawed in Russia, is recognized, Zamir Kabulov, Russian special presidential envoy for Afghanistan and director of the Foreign Ministry’s Second Asia Department, said at a briefing.
"I think we will," he said in response to a question. "However, it’s not only about recognition," Kabulov added.
In particular, the special presidential envoy pointed out that the SCO was first and foremost an economic organization, so "Afghanistan should also put its economy in some kind of order for other SCO members to view its accession as reasonable."
Earlier, Kabulov told TASS that Russia’s foreign and justice ministries had reported to President Vladimir Putin that the Taliban could be removed from the list of banned organizations. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov later said that this initiative reflected objective reality.

Washington’s refusal to let ex-intelligence officer Scott Ritter travel abroad to participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in Russia is further proof that the United States has turned into a police state, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
"This is yet another example on top of numerous others that show that the United States, which calls itself the world's leading democracy, has long turned into a police state," he said.
When asked whether Moscow can do anything about this, Lavrov pointed out that Ritter is not a Russian citizen, and he is not seeking to become one. "That is why we cannot do anything from a legal point of view. But I don’t think that its is difficult to anticipate our reaction," he stressed.
Former US Marine Corps Intelligence Officer and UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter told TASS earlier that he was not allowed to board a flight from New York to Istanbul, a stopover on his way to Russia to take part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. According to Ritter, no explanations were given to him. The police, in his words, said only that it was done at the order from the Department of State.

Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov remarked on Tuesday that Russia welcomes Turkey's willingness to consider joining BRICS while waiting for the decision on its membership in the European Union.
Speaking at a press conference, Peskov said the matter will be discussed at the alliance's next meeting, which will be held in Kazan between October 22 and 24. He added that BRICS is looking forward to "maintaining contacts with all interested countries."
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan hinted at Ankara's consideration to join BRICS during a visit to China.

In order to release & distribute those frozen Russian assets held in the West, we need to redefine the "norms" referred to in your podcast. I am not anyone other than an observer but surely the G7 or G20 could help clarify and establish that "norm" by agreeing that the consequences of one country aggressively invading another should be that any assets that are held are considered fair game in being used for the reconstruction of the invaded.

This was stated by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Vitaly Yarema, who said that due to the threat of seizure of air defense equipment, these complexes were transferred from Donetsk to another unnamed area, so the militia does not have these air defense systems. Therefore, the probability of the DPR forces seizing the complexes on July 14 is nothing more than an information throw-in to fuel the official Kiev version.
Moreover, if the presence of "Buks" in the DPR militia was a real threat, Ukraine was obliged to immediately, that is, on July 14, prohibit overflight in a dangerous area, but for some reason did not do this, unlike the rebels, who have long declared the entire air zone in southeastern Ukraine closed. The only reason for such a reckless decision can only be absolute confidence in the absence of danger at altitudes above 9700 meters, which was recorded in the relevant permits of the State Aviation Service of Ukraine.
