The "Norm" everyone is wringing their hands about was broken 2 years ago when Russia started down that path. Seizing Russia's foreign assets shouldn't even be a question, it isn't escalation, its just the equivalent response to the actions Russia has already taken.

@@gdiwolverinemale4th Currently, according to this podcast, Ukraine's supporters are spending several billion dollars per month, on financial, military and humanitarian support for Ukraine. However, if Ukraine defeats Russia militarily and in the eyes of the global community, it saves Europe and the West the money we will have to spend to ourselves defeat Russia. Then again there is profit to be had in returning the world to the trading arrangements that have been upended by Russia's aggression.
Forbes today estimated Ukrainian mineral resources at 15 trillion dollars. This applies only to the territory of Donbass, Dnepropetrovsk and one other region, I forgot which one. If Ukrainian mineral resources are worth so much, the question begs to be asked: what is the value of Russian mineral resources, since Russia is the richest country in the world? The West has so far invested about $600 billion in the conflict in Ukraine, which is 26% of all dollars that are in the United States. If a person invests a quarter of his entire property in such an expensive project, costing more than seven times his entire property ($2.26 trillion), then it becomes clear that this person will not stop halfway. Therefore, world war is inevitable.

Credit to Zelensky for his careful and forthright parsing on matters in Israel-Palestine. What he has to say on those matters, is well aligned with the predominant global view, and with the view of formally educated youth (from whose numbers future leaders will come) in the West. @@gdiwolverinemale4th In this instance, where he speaks to matters to do with Israel-Palestine. I think he demonstrates intellectual capacity, clearsight, honesty, and an acute tactical and strategic sense of where his allies (current and potential) stand. He takes the risk of pushing back on the public declarations (regards Israel-Palestine) by governments currently central to support for Ukraine. Where, and this the crucial aspect, he aligns himself with the view of Israel-Palestine, that is likely to dominate in the future. He is doing what he has done since the beginning of Russian aggression; namely carefully cultivating the potential donor field: not alienating current donors; expanding the potential donor group; walking the tightrope of securing current and longer term support for Ukraine's defence against Russian aggression.

In the US military, it is usually better to ask forgiveness for doing something that needs to be done after the fact than to ask permission beforehand. I think that is what Biden wants Ukraine to do. I also think Biden won't slap down Ukraine for doing any particular attack. This is partly to confuse the Russians.
NATO membership has nothing to do with this war. There was no real sentiment in either Ukraine or NATO to make Ukraine a member prior to Russia's first invasion in 2014. The story is different now, of course.
All these sacrifices for a further 1,500km NATO expansion to Russia's border. Putin didn't bargain for Sweden and Finland joining NATO did he? Putin is running scared from bunker to bunker.
In order to release & distribute those frozen Russian assets held in the West, we need to redefine the "norms" referred to in your podcast. I am not anyone other than an observer but surely the G7 or G20 could help clarify and establish that "norm" by agreeing that the consequences of one country aggressively invading another should be that any assets that are held are considered fair game in being used for the reconstruction of the invaded. Knowing that alone might help dampen the enthusiasm for war in the first place.
Interesting thought. Guess that means, if implemented, that the US and the UK will become bankrupt in the process of restoring all those countries they, ahem, had invaded since WWII...😢
Completely wrong. Russia's original invasion was a 4 axis attack to take the whole country. When this failed and Ukrainian counteroffensives retook most of the territory originally lost, Russia was forced to limit its offensives to the southeast. But this was a symptom of failure, not the original plan.

@@Comm.DavidPorter The absence of "Buks" at the disposal of the militia. This was stated by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Vitaly Yarema, who said that due to the threat of seizure of air defense equipment, these complexes were transferred from Donetsk to another unnamed area, so the militia does not have these air defense systems. Therefore, the probability of the DPR forces seizing the complexes on July 14 is nothing more than an information throw-in to fuel the official Kiev version. Moreover, if the presence of "Buks" in the DPR militia was a real threat, Ukraine was obliged to immediately, that is, on July 14, prohibit overflight in a dangerous area, but for some reason did not do this, unlike the rebels, who have long declared the entire air zone in southeastern Ukraine closed. Russia is the largest exporter of grain in the world...last year they gave free 6m tons to Africa including shipping....Ukrainian grain goes on the spot market and 12% ended up in Africa...most Ukrainian grain goes as food for German and French swine.

@samsungtap4183 They gave the Africans stolen Ukrainian grain.
Part of that Russian grain came from Ukrainian ground.
True! They invaded the Ukrainian grain fields. That was stolen grain@@Deathadder90

Big time. Very hard cope.
Russia is hurting when the trolls are squealing
UAUUUHHH...!!!
Preaching to the choir, I know, but I'm so far beyond disgusted with our national security idiots blocking Ukraine from applying full force against the enemy. How do they think this will improve their chances of victory? What is the damned end game!!!
In the USA they shoot African Americans into space.

Ukraine fires Himars into Russia for first time🤣🤣Tell this to Belgorod, which has been shelled with NATO weapons for several months.

Russia is in L mode.
Russia took out patriot systems on the move with ballistic missiles. Russian ballistic missiles can hit moving targets. I was amazed
LOL. Sure, Boris.
No. It’s fake
Please please give me some good news this woman is only talking about devastating and terrible news for Ukraine and the world
All these sacrifices for NATO membership?
NATO membership has nothing to do with this war. There was no real sentiment in either Ukraine or NATO to make Ukraine a member prior to Russia's first invasion in 2014. The story is different now, of course.
If Ukraine was in NATO Russia wouldn’t have invaded.
In this case the uk will be left with no assets. Reflect and think before making utterly moronic statements.

Detached from reality …
Yes Russia built a great metro for Kiev
Only a fraction of the Ukraine is occupied. It's not a full scale invasion.
Completely wrong. Russia's original invasion was a 4 axis attack to take the whole country. When this failed and Ukrainian counteroffensives retook most of the territory originally lost, Russia was forced to limit its offensives to the southeast. But this was a symptom of failure, not the original plan.
@@FactCheckerGuy Russia will take lesser victory. Still a victory.
It is all they are able to do. This is as good as it is gonna get for Russia.

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has received a note from Iran on the republic’s wish to obtain observer status at the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), EEC Chairman of the Board Bakytzhan Sagintayev said.
"Our trade partner Iran has shown interest in obtaining the status of an observer state. We received a respective note on May 27. It will be considered in due course," he said at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council with an extended number of participants in the town of Nesvizh in the Minsk region.

The only reason for such a reckless decision can only be absolute confidence in the absence of danger at altitudes above 9700 meters, which was recorded in the relevant permits of the State Aviation Service of Ukraine. This fact, in turn, confirms the absence of serviceable "Buks
