- Опубликовано: 21 окт 2022
- Expanding the sound of and pushing pop music forward, trio of multi-instrumentalists, Muna takes us through the writing and instrumentation behind their smash single "Silk Chiffon" featuring Phoebe Bridgers. Shortly after the release in 2021 they opened up their mix session for us and shared some insight behind the production. Everything from working in their DAW of choice Ableton to double tracking acoustics, to how the electric guitars complement and respond to the lead vocal, why the Prophet is the most utilitarian synth, and their favorite chorus pedal, the Ibanez CS-9.
Watch the video for a track-by-track deconstruction of the song and to learn more about their creative production process.

Naomi seems like a potentially terrific record producer for other artists. I hope they get opportunities for that.
naomi is so incredible i love their brain
Their brain? Isn’t it just one person
@@gregbradshaw7220 naomi’s pronouns are they/them

@@katielowen just use the right pronouns it’s not hard
Naomi is a production genius.
I could listen to muna deconstructing their music forever 🥺😭
i don't understand any of this but i will consume all muna content no matter what
I didn’t realise just how important the effects added during production are to complete the whole picture of the song. Wonderful. Absolutely love this band. I’ve only just recently dove into their discography and it’s all so good.
Such talented musicians. There's a reason the masses are FINALLY paying attention to them. So happy for their success.
i love this song. i hadn't realised how much it sounded like teenage dirt bag until naomi isolated the drums and the dj scratch
truly the greatest band in the world. naomi absolutely kills it with the production every time
i could listen to naomi talk about production for hours
i like it when they get real geeky abt their works, like show me more daddy
Naomi is absolutely brilliant in this video! Their mind!! I love videos like this when they break songs and productions down. I don't understand half the terms they're using but that's what make it so interesting.
I love that Naomi always has the vibe of a toddler who was allowed to dress themselves. I love them!
naomi you are amazing
Naomi saying "aural mirror neurons" ahhh they are such an intellectual
would love to see them break down more of their songs, I could listen to the three of them talk about their process for hours and hours

Damn this is really interesting! Thank you
"Ableton" always a solid choice. 👍🏿
"Yes"
I absolutely loved seeing this amazing song deconstructed. I've been listening to this song on loop, trying to figure out the elements and this video was such a gift. also I loved how the tracks are literally the colors of the lesbian flag. I didn't think my queer heart could be happier over this song. I love them so much.
♥️♥️♥️♥️
God they’re so cool
tape pic!!!! so smart!
Why did this make me almost cry??
love u naomi
The very beginning of this song reminds me of Crash and Burn by Savage Garden.
every tree is a forest ✨
SILK!!!!!!!
Man, this makes me love Naomi even more. She's really on her shit.
naomi uses they/them pronouns
@@missrobinson1212 I do not give a shit
@@Iskaral_Pust You love her more but you don't give a shit? Interesting
@@missrobinson1212 She sounds pretty stupid and narcissistic, then.
@@BlanDandelion I like the person but no way am I gonna encourage this circus. It's possible to love someone but disagree about other things.
Sweet , they use Ableton too!
4:44 sounds like something the band Her’s would’ve played!
This song is delicious. It makes me think of my first experiences with girls when everything was so new, exciting and innocent
Naomi is big smart
trackball mouse goated
Anyone get what kind of tape Naomi was talking about making a pick with?
gaffer tape!:)
thank you for all your hard work to create such a joyful queer song!
I'd have all 3 of them!!! They're gorgeous!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤!!!!
Joe is my dream girl I'm so in love😍😍😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
ok now do solid
🚨ALERT ALERT🚨 Marshall Vore mentioned 🚨🚨🚨
Naomi isthe brains. She's got mad skillz!
friendly heads up naomi uses they/them pronouns :) but absolutely they're such a talented producer
@@annelieseesparza I've decided I'm not going to if its "They/Their". It's too difficult to follow. Advances have been made so we can still all understand each others' prose. Pick one of these:
Ze/hir
Xe/xem
Hy/hym
and I'm good with it. They and Their are already taken, though. Those are PLURAL terms. But you do you! And Naomi can do Naomi!
@@scottlucidi6476 They can also be used as a singular pronoun. For example: someone left their phone on the table. I'm sure you can get used to it with a little practice ;)
@@scottlucidi6476 I'm sure you can learn how to do it Scott... also, the singular they has been used since 1375 so it's not like it's brand new, grammatically speaking. But if you choose to ignore someone's preferred identity because you claim it's too hard, that's a shame
@@francescac.1843 thats grammatically incorrect, tho. but it had been used incorrectly so often, it hsd become accepted. "his" is proper in that example. Im trying to be accepting, but Im drawing the line where it doesnt make sense. And they/their doesnt make sense to refer to a single individual. Pick a different pronoun and I'll roll with it!
Lesbians !!!!!
I'm so sorry I'm such a child but I'm from Finland, and 'muna' in finnish means egg. BUT it also means dick. And it is too funny.
All 3 of them are just brilliant. So damn smart. Stay golden Pony Girls ❤
Naomi isn't a girl, they're non-binary 😊
