They had a great coach in Hansi Flick. Blame Hasan Salihamidzic and Uli Hoeness for the start of this mess. It all started there. I say Thomas Muller for manager.

I don't understand where the perception of Hansi Flick being a great coach still comes from.
He failed as a coach and in an executive role at Hoffenheim. He failed dramatically as a coach of the german national team.
His success at Bayern after in the COVID-19 season relied on an unsustainable playstyle of an extreme press paired with a risky high defensive line. This worked for around three quarters of a year when Bayern came out of the covid break as an injury-free, peak conditioned physical bully that just overpowered everyone that season.
But it already got exposed in the second season. Press intensity dropped dramatically, the high defensive line got exposed on a regular basis, injuries started to happen.
Flick has never been a great coach under normal circumstances at club level that provided a sustainble level of play. And as soon as failure and pressure are rising he loses control in a leading role (see the Amazon series of the german national team).
In my opinion he's great at two things: Firstly, creating a special team chemistry when he has a talented group. Secondly preparing a team to peak for knock-out/tournament-like short termed competitions. Like he did as an assistant coach at Germany or in Bayern's incredible run after the covid break.
But he's not a great long-term coach, not good at handling pressure from the media and managing during rough times of failure. Add his tactical deficits (especially defensively) and his one-dimensionality/unability to adjust.

Many people will disagree with me on this, but Thomas Tuchel isn’t an elite manager. In the last 5 seasons, he’s been to the champions league semifinals with 3 different clubs which is insane. In 2020, he took PSG to their first ever UCL final, 2021, Chelsea won the UCL 4 months after his arrival and even this year with the weakest Bayern Munich team ever, he took them to the champions league final where they almost beat Real Madrid. He has been the master of knockout football in recent years. Nobody is denying his coaching abilities but if Tuchel is an elite manager, why does he keep losing jobs whenever he’s gone, what’s going on with him. It raises questions on whether or not he’s an elite manager his inability to have longevity at a club because after he does well the honeymoon period is over when things aren’t going his way he clashes with the board and his players. He’s more of a manger who’s the solution to a team’s problems in the short term rather than a long term one.
At PSG, after he finally took them to the Champions League, months later he got sacked as they believed that he wasn’t the right manager to get them all the way in the Champions League. After that he went on to win the Champions League with Chelsea and after things started so well for him, a year later he was sacked after spending so much money in that summer transfer window as he didn’t see eye to eye with Todd Boehly. It just never worked out for him at Bayern Munich as he was out of his depth there it didn’t click at all even though they got to a champions league semifinal and once again he lost another job. He was the right manager for Chelsea, but so out of his depth at Bayern Munich. A lot of people think that he’s Manchester United’s next manager after they sack Erik ten Hag at the end of the season and I could see him going there. Some see him as their savior as they have to hire him this summer, but if you’re Manchester United, again Tuchel is just a short term solution for you given his track record at other clubs. Whether it’s at Chelsea or Manchester United I hope he gets his stock up again because Thomas Tuchel is too good of a manager to consistently be losing jobs everywhere he goes.

In a nutshell I think it's a combination of incompetent owners and Tuchel himself. I mean with PSG we all know, the owners are ridiculous. Enrique won't last in my opinion. With Chelsea, I mean Boehly was an absolute idiot to get rid of him. He would have been perfect at Chelsea. With Bayern, they were idiots to sack Nagelsmann and bring Tuchel, only to realize that their team isn't good enough and they need to spend more and reform their team. Tuchel is a very good coach, not Top 5 but a coach who can win you trophies. I'd definitely rate him over Poch, Ten Hag, Xavi, Pioli, Allegri etc.

In my opinion, Thomas Tuchel has been so out of his depth at Bayern Munich and for both parties it’s great that he’s leaving at the end of the season. He walked into a chaotic mess that he didn’t create. In the 2022-23 season, Bayern Munich made a decision that shocked the footballing world which was sacking Julian Nagelsmann. When he was sacked, it was during a period where they were competing for 3 trophies and while the team was very inconsistent, getting rid of him was a desperation move because you wanted to win trophies and at the time Tuchel was available and you didn’t want to miss out on him again.
This was the start of Bayern Munich’s decline and they’ve not recovered from this. A lot of people will bring up the fact that as terrible as they were, they won the Bundesliga when the reality is that they wouldn’t have won the league if Borussia Dortmund didn’t produce one of the biggest choke jobs I’ve ever seen how many times do I have to say that. There were already signs of chaos and an instability at this football club even last season. Bayer Leverkusen’s unbeaten run and the potential of them winning the treble it hasn’t helped, but Bayern Munich under Tuchel are much worse than they were under Nagelsmann. For the first time in 12 years, Bayern Munich finished a season without a trophy and for a club of their size it’s unacceptable their dominance in the Bundesliga finally ended and while Real Madrid are inevitable in the champions league, Tuchel is at fault for why they lost that game after being up by a goal. There was never a feeling that he was the right manager for this team and while Bayern Munich tried to convince him to stay, it’s in their best interest that he leaves the club and find a way to regain his managerial stock somewhere else whether it’s back at Chelsea or even at Manchester United. Bayern Munich now find themselves in a managerial limbo with them get to find a new manager and hopefully it does much better than Tuchel.
