Sometimes I wonder how this person who analyses football have a career in talking about football if they can't see the direction football is going. Kompany had more experience than most coaches when those coaches took over their first big coaching role. Pep's only coaching job before taking over Barcelona's first team was coach of the B team, Zidane was coach of the B team before he was given the assistant coach role and then made the head coach. Xabi was Real Madrid's youth coach and then the Real Sociedad B team coach before being given the Leverkusen job, Mikel was Pep's assistant and many more coaches like that. Football is evolving from just the positional play football of the old outdated coaches and that's why Jose can't make it any more at a top club, so you need people who see football differently and can adapt their play and innovate. Let's take for instance yesterday's Europa Cup game, Atalanta won because the coach decided to use Leverkusen's strength and turned it into their weakness, what he did was play three out-and-out forward players who would take advantage of the spaces left behind by the Leverkusen wingbacks and he needed the attackers that play on the wings to be players who have a high percentage of taken their chances when they are presented with one. That's smart coaching. Positional play and possession-based football are slowly coming to an end and if we are honest Pep is the most high-profile coach who keeps innovating and changing the game so people look out and say to themselves we can't get Pep Besides he will soon retire or go on a long break, what we can do is get coaches that have some of Peps philosophies and way of thinking about the game and that's why Bayern going for kompany makes sense.
Kompany got 24 points in 38 games last season and conceded over 2 goals a game. He would not change his ideological stance which was clearly not working. Just employ a bot if you want a manager to do the same thing every game? But I bet a bot wouldn’t have so spectacularly failed like Kompany at Burnley last season.

If you're going to talk football you have to know what you're talking about.
@@MartinGreen932 A team is built around the coach's philosophy and the best the coach can do when the team he has is not good enough is just hope, you don't go from a positional-based coach to a defensive-minded coach, why did Pep not win the title his first year, it was because he didn't have the players in positions he wanted, and that why he brought in walker the next season, Conte at Chelsea had to revert back to a back three at the back and be more defensive because he couldn't keep playing the attractive type of football the owners wanted and keep losing matches so he went back to what he was comfortable with, Klopp had to get the players to play his style of football when he noticed that players he had won't be able to provide that aggressive pressing brand of football, and that why he broke the bank with VVD and Alison because he knew if he played his brand of football he needed top insurance at that back. What are the chances of Kompany failing at Bayern with his philosophies that got Burnley promoted with record points? He has More experience than Xabi Alonso, Arteta, Pep and Zidane when they were given big jobs.

not really a gamble. He won the championship with burnley. Burnley's squad wasn't as superior as bayern's is in comparison. A very shrewd appointment. Next year simon will be telling us how he always knew this will work lol
Even more insane why did they fire Nagelsmann in the first place? From the outside it looks like they got bored of their dominance and are self sabotaging now.
Right about what?? Arteta, Pep, Xabi Alonso and Zidane got jobs with almost zero experience yet look at them now. People with a vision, respect from players and a brilliant philosophy usually succeed when given quality players.
All the Kane hate... whilst you're in social housing... his contract is thought to be worth at least £80 million over four years. Kane also has a property portfolio said to be worth more than £13 million, while his company HK28 shows assets of £10 million...
Its fairly simple thinking, they like his philosophy and style of play and are banking with the higher quality players at his disposal and the machine that is Bayern he can win them the league. Which is highly likely.
Managers are now judged on how many backwards and sideways passes there teams make rather than how many trophies they actually win. They’ll win nothing with Kompany - should just get Jose
Jordan just making stuff up, Dyche took Burnley up then got them relegated before going back up - they never got anywhere near 101 points. It took him something like 5 years to get them into 7th in the PL but all the other seasons they were nowhere near that.
It’s the style of play that Simon doesn’t understand, dyche football is brexit football, lob it down the pitch and hope for the best as opposed to kompanys possession based football.
It's very interesting how football fans and pundits are unable to separate the ability of a coach and the outcome of a season. Had he been appointed when he won the championship people probably wouldn't have been that surprised, yet do people now think he is not a better coach today than he was when he won the championship. Just because his team were relegated this season it doesn't mean he has gotten worse as a coach.
Simon is almost always wrong and he'll be wrong about kompany managing Bayern Munich as well.... Kompany is a quality manager and will get Bayern playing a great brand of football in no time, they have the players to do so unlike Burnley...
Kompanys tactics worked well in the championship but failed in the PL. Was it due to a lack quality players to do the same in the PL or do his tactics simply not work at the top level?

All he seems to have is some praise of Guardiola. Bayern is really acting strange at the moment.
It's not hard to see the thinking that Burnley in the Championship is a similar situation as Bayern in the Bundesliga.
Imagine being Ten Haag right now, you‘be got an FA cup final on Saturday and the entire media is talking about you as if you’ve already been sacked 😂
Tuchel was meant to be staying about a week ago according to Fabrizio Romano. How often does he get it wrong. I don’t understand what Bayern are doing here 🤷🏼♂️
Rumor has it Santa Claus is free right now tho he might be busy at Xmas 😂
This is a disaster. Too many veterans in that dressing room who have even won more than Kompany. A recipe for disaster.
Kompany has won more than Kane & Deir put together 😂
@@y2k42y2k42 lovely of you to select those two
lol you aware kompany has won multiple PL’s and domestic cups right .
@Jomgg you are aware there are world cup winners and multiple UCL winners in that dressing room..right?
@@claudemakelele2856 those world cup winners are all old and almost about to leave the club anyways.
I don’t get why Bayern Munich would go after him because he got Burnley relegated after promotion but if it pulls off then fair play
Simon: "Harry Kane... I'm now going to get the guy that relegated Burnley..."... wow, good insight and point! I hope Kompany does well!
"Leverkausen"? 🤦😊
What's Toby maguire doing on talksport ?
He’s a disciple of pep - that’s it…
Burnley should appoint Ian Evatt from Bolton he specializes in tippy tappy football and will fit right in.
After that performance in the playoff final? Diabolical
This is the type of appointment that go very very wrong. Or go exceptionally well. There is no middle ground for this. The bayern board could receive a lot heat if it doesn't work out.
I want it to go through because Im really excited to see how it goes 😅😅
Shows the strength of the PL
😂
@@Tom-dn6zyBayern wants a Burnley manager 😂😂
It is always good to have a fresh trainer, better than a refurbished one.
Kompany didnot have the players to play attacking football at burnley that could match the premier league intensity. Dude is arteta and guardiola combo if anyone watched championship. He gets the dressing room behind him and that is the most important thing needed at bayern right now. I am 100% sure he will win the bundesliga with bayern if they get him.
What’s more disturbing is that Kompany wears a baseball cap and suit at the same time 😂😂
Kompany going to Bayern is no different from Arteta going to Arsenal from Man City
Kompany is just going there to accompany Kane on his trophyless journey of empty legacy
What are the chances of Kompany failing at Bayern with his philosophies that got Burnley promoted with record points?
He has More experience than Xabi Alonso, Arteta, Pep and Zidane when they were given big jobs.
Why don't they get Moyes ? . The way this show bigs him up , you'd think the big clubs would've been queuing up
This is unbelievable- Let's see it is crazy but it probably work out for the best.
Leverkusen bout to dominate again
It’s crazy if Kompany does get the job Kane has actually played against him in the past
I thinking they are just picking him as a place holder until they can get the manager they want, but he has nothing to lose and it is a dream job so go for it.
I
He will do well at Bayern
Kompany appointed Bayern manager the same day Rooney gets the Plymouth job. That’s the difference between learning under Pep and learning under SAF 🤣
Plays good football. Will still have a lot of respect with players due to his playing career. Seems like a good gamble.
not really a gamble. He won the championship with burnley. Burnley's squad wasn't as superior as bayern's is in comparison. A very shrewd appointment. Next year simon will be telling us how he always knew this will work lol
Why did Bayern get rid of Tuchel without anything planned? Mad
Even more insane why did they fire Nagelsmann in the first place? From the outside it looks like they got bored of their dominance and are self sabotaging now.
I'm shocked that Simon Jordan Is hire'd by Talksport.
simon is right. same applies for mc kenna only managed in championship for 2yrs
Right about what??
Arteta, Pep, Xabi Alonso and Zidane got jobs with almost zero experience yet look at them now.
People with a vision, respect from players and a brilliant philosophy usually succeed when given quality players.
@@planetebeautecali4485 bayern want immediate success. kompany is an amateur
@planetebeautecali4485 kompany is still an amateur. bayern are looking for immediate success in league & champions league
If I’m Kane I’m coming back to England go to arsenal
Managers are now judged on how many backwards and sideways passes there teams make rather than how many trophies they actually win. They’ll win nothing with Kompany - should just get Jose
Munich still have all the best players the most money and best equipped to win champs league and league next year.
That shocks him but Chelsea going for the Leicester city manager or McKenna doesn't, I'd love to know what boley has over Simon
Bayern and Barca want 1 year managers until they can get Pep or Klopp!
They just want a manager with no influence in Germany. The internal board needs their power & privacy back.
Frank rijkaard got relegated with Rotterdam then went straight into barca and won everything so it can totally work if it's the right dude
Time to relegate Bayern from Bundesliga 💀
leverkusen not having economic strength? what a joke
As a Burnley fan I'm glad he's gone. He obviously wasn't loyal as he said. The club gave him the benefit of the doubt and didn't sack him.
Hid behind that five year plan nonsense and leaves a bitter taste for me, we deserve better
Poch will get the gig and work again once more with Kane and Dier.
Brighton should hire Poch after De Zerbi leaves.
Manchester United??? The last time I checked we have a manager, and his name is Erik Ten Hag!!!
Not Simons place to judge the decision making of the owners
The Championship is more competitive than the Bundesliga.
I have a feeling that Kane will be reunited with Conte..
Why would you pay 10 million compo for a guy that just got his team related totally baffles me.
Kane just can't take a rest 😂
poor guy thought he left Spurs for trophies just to end up at a german spurs lol
You mean "get a break"?
Simon is almost always wrong and he'll be wrong about kompany managing Bayern Munich as well....
Kompany is a quality manager and will get Bayern playing a great brand of football in no time, they have the players to do so unlike Burnley...
Its fairly obvious why they chose him, they had to negotiate with the makers of the latest Assassins creed Samurai game to get their man.
Komoany their EIGHTH choice manager!?!? Kane mumbling "FFS" under his breath as he realises lifting a trophy might just be a dream.
Kompany has the beat agent in the world.
No other manager available so got him to give jane company
Kompanys tactics worked well in the championship but failed in the PL. Was it due to a lack quality players to do the same in the PL or do his tactics simply not work at the top level?
Kompany is a legend
is acc unbelievable theyre going from a champions league winning manager to vincent megamind kompany
