I heard about Yunchan winning the Cliburn competition, then saw/heard him live with the NY Philharmonic at Bravo Vail last year. I'd say he ranks as one of the world's best classical pianists -- already! Thank you so much for this video of Beethoven's 4th Piano Concerto, one of my all-time favorites, played so incredibly well by Yunchan.
It seems like Beethoven has a lot of things to say. Yunchan is so good at telling Beethoven’s stories. Yunchan’s big concept of music is as big as that of Beethoven. Can’t get over this performance.

His humility is the main virtue that makes him an exquisite ambassador of pure art, with nothing that clouds or comes between the artist and the fortunate public that listens to him. It is the means that the Eternal uses to send us a breath of his infinite beauty.

Yunchan Lim plays this music as if is was newly invented, with such a freshness and inspiration, but at the same time with such a reference to old masters, that I can nothing but love his interpretation.
I kind of agree but my positioning point is that, because he does not have an (critically approved) interpretation of his own, what we hear sounds fresh and a kind of just having left the school of music feel.

The second movement, Andante con mote, at 20:26, is becoming more and more important. It is like a slow battle between the orchestra and the piano. The orchestra almost forces the piano to respond on its musical attacks, but the piano refuses for a long time, with only a faint answer. But then, after some time, the piano responds to the orchestra, at first with a somewhat shy attitude, but after a while it let its emotions out, and in the end the piano and the orchestra is united in complete harmony. This is my interpretation of this wonderful movement. Let me also say that Yunchan Lim plays this part wonderful!

I think Beethoven would have relished having a student like Yunchan back in his day, but Yunchan would probably, modestly claim that Beethoven is actually teaching him a lot about his music even 250 years' later as he explores it today. Together they are doing a really terrific job of it. This performance once again showed Yunchan's ability to meld with his conductor and orchestra happily wherever he plays .That, believe me, is a gift.

The second movement, Andante con mote, at 20:26, is becoming more and more important. It is like a slow battle between the orchestra and the piano. The orchestra almost forces the piano to respond on its musical attacks, but the piano refuses for a long time, with only a faint answer. But then, after some time, the piano responds to the orchestra, at first with a somewhat shy attitude, but after a while it let its emotions out, and in the end the piano and the orchestra is united in complete harmony. This is my interpretation of this wonderful movement. Let me also say that Yunchan Lim plays this part wonderful!

I think Beethoven would have relished having a student like Yunchan back in his day, but Yunchan would probably, modestly claim that Beethoven is actually teaching him a lot about his music even 250 years' later as he explores it today. Together they are doing a really terrific job of it. This performance once again showed Yunchan's ability to meld with his conductor and orchestra happily wherever he plays .That, believe me, is a gift.

I actually believe that Yunchan is a musician most will watch developing over the coming years with enjoyment, excitement and a great deal of interest. At present he would agree with you. He hasn't ever set himself up for greatness, rather he wants to be the best conduit he can be for the music of the composers he loves. While, due to his many excited fans the hype certainly exists about him, please note that Yunchan is NEVER trashy.

It's one thing to leave what you so thoughtfully describe as an "interesting comment" once or twice, but to reproduce the same belittling comment on each and every -- and I mean every -- Yunchan video on RUclips is... concerning, to say the least. I don't know about you, but the last thing I'd want to spend my precious time on earth on is to hunt down things I don't like just so that I can leave negative comments about them. The irony that I myself am taking the time to write this sort of post here (and on half a dozen other Yunchan videos) is not lost on me... but I felt compelled to do it here to offset at least a little bit of the negative "Chi" generated by this poster.

전 대구 세종 롯콘에서 관람했는데 다 휘발된듯요.오랜만에 보니까 참 기품있고 어찌저리 아름답게 치는지 롯콘 예매대기 된게 얼마나 다행이었는지 정말 롯콘에서 어찌 저런 소리를 내었는지 2악장은 유독 더욱 느리면서도 아름다웠던 기억만이 감정과 피아노 타컨이 롯콘홀에서 그런 소리가 나지 신기했었어요.혼신의 연주 이번도 예당이 막콘이니 그렇겠죠?
