What y'all need to understand is that she killed that whole entire album. With "Miseducation" you need to listen to it from beginning to end, including every single interlude. I can't pick a favourite song from it...that's like asking me to pick a favourite child. That album is a classic, and that woman is a legend.
I know you have to listen to the whole album..all the songs in a row with the teacher and students in between ...it is a musical masterpiece

@@SophieRutter i used to go to the record stores on a Saturday night listen to music and purchase 4 or 5 at one time. I remember driving on the hwy for over two hours listening to this CD. it was mindblowing..Lauryn Hill album is a musical masterpiece.
There are very few 90s rap, hip hop and R&B albums that are good, cover to cover. To be honest, maybe a dozen IMO. Hers is on the list along with Fugees the Score.
"Miseducation" is the one album I could happily listen to for the rest of my life on a desert island and not get bored . . . But I'm skipping the interludes.
When you guys get a chance, you should listen to the whole album. It's a masterpiece. Actually, I'm bout to do that right now. Thank you.

LH is the lead singer from the Fugees who you’ve previously reacted to. She left them and made this, her only full solo album. It’s 22 years old and it still sounds fresh. It’s very often included in the listings of the Top 25 albums of all time, of all genres. It’s a masterpiece. Every track is good. There are no fillers. She never really did a full album after it, but she toured the world two years ago to celebrate 20 years since the album was released. I saw her at the o2 arena in London - an amazing show.
Robin you ever wonde what's wrong with kids today? They don't know LH. They probably don't know Led Zeppelin, Mozart , Parliament/Funkadelic, NWA, or Nina Simone either.
She made also lot of great unreleased songs which were rather against the music industry, maybe among others personal reasons it's reason there's no official album from Lauryn after first album.
2020 and I still listen to this album at least once a month. And this is the best track. One of my all time fave songs.

Wyclef wrote a book & he has interviews very open about his long time affair with Lauryn while he was married. He said on the road him and Lauryn were a couple. Their relationship was intensely sexual and creative. When they came off the road he went home to his wife. He said this album is about their relationship. He felt betrayed when she got pregnant with Zion by another man. He wanted the baby to his... but he was married & is still married to the woman today. She knew they were having an affair. Lauryn kept breaking it off but he’d keep coming back. She wanted him to leave his wife. His wife is the safe choice. When he speaks of Lauryn you know his heart will never be over her. He’s a jerk

I've seen you guys react to the Fugees' cover of Killing Me Softly. Lauren Hill was the lead singer of Fugees and this was her solo masterpiece. She won numerous awards for this album including a Grammy for Best Album of the Year (that's HUGE) and a Grammy for Best R&B Album. Everyone loved (loves) this album.

"Ya'll ain't even warn us man," lol😂 When she went solo from the Fugees with this album there was no one that sounded like her then (or now); and when The Fugees came out back in the day no one sounded like them back then either, that's why anytime you hear her or the group she came from it literally gives you goose bumps. I'm so glad you guys listened to Lauryn & the other videos on The Fugees.

My favorite song on this album is Nothing Even Matters which is a duet with D'Angelo, who is the only male artist that can match her vocal style, IMO. You should listen to D'Angelo's album Brown Sugar, another of my favorites. His voice is perfection, he's also gorgeous 😍💖

When she was a teenager and till this recorded Lauryn was considered the best female vocalist. All she had to do was open her mouth and this angel voice came out. Somethings negative happened to her in the world of celebrity that withdrew from the public. I don’t if she’s still recording or performing but I could listen to her all day. As a teenager she acted and sang in the second movie with Whoopi Goldberg pretending to be a nun music school teacher. When I heard her I listened to her vocals over and over again.
