    Tupac’s mom was a member of the ny black panther chapter. She was arrested with the 21 panthers who were accused of planning bombings. His mother with no law degree represented herself and got everyone acquitted. His aunt/god mother is Assata Shakur who was another black panther leader who was shot, arrested, tried, and jailed but escaped and got immunity in Cuba. He grew up around some strong ass women.

    • @NativeNYerChicHK
      @NativeNYerChicHK 4 года назад +17

      Only one part of that is incorrect. Assata Shakur is of no blood relation to Tupac and his mom. And what Assata’s on the run for had nothing to do with Afeni Shakur’s charges in the case she beat and her subsequently leaving the Panthers. Assata is Tupac godmother though.

    I grew up in the 9th ward New Orleans. My parents lived in the Desire projects bcuz they were not accepted any other place. My mom black, my dad white from racist Mississippi. They raised me and my 8 sisters (9 of us girls) as best as they could. I ended up in jail the first time at 9. I got out when I was 17. Then got pregnant with my son at 19. I went back to prison for something someone else did. But, I couldn’t tell the people that. Just like 2pac mom, I got out right before he was born. When he was 18 months old. I went back again. I can tell you..., there’s no pain like not being with your son. I decided in that time away, never again. I took jobs any place I could. Went to college and got my degree. I took my baby and ran from my life. We lived so hard. He’s a computer science engineer. Tell me that isn’t the bomb. I don’t know why I’m telling my life story. I just...maybe it this song, or maybe it’s you guys remind me of my baby. Keep it up sweeties. Anything I can do to help, just hit me up. I would love to see you guys excel. You both have an amazing life ahead of you. Peace, love ✌🏼🙏🏼

      ah thank you. I was hurt by a close family member. I told my mother and she slapped me so hard. Told me we never speak that kind of thing. I did find out later in life my mom was also abused by her uncle at 9. She never told anyone. I started acting out. Fighting everyday. Walking right out on my teachers. Truancy officers could never catch me. They didn’t know my city like I did. I think I kind of flashed out after my mom did that. By the time truancy caught up to me, I was turning 10 in a couple months. I racked up 144 counts of contempt of court. That was the last time I saw my dad and little sisters for a couple years. When I got out all those juvenile jails, they tried me in a group home. I got to see my family a few times. The fighting never stopped tho. I got put back in juvie. It took a lot to get out this life. But yeah, I did it. I could not let my son go through any of that. I think I went through enough for both us. Thank you also. God Bless 🙏🏼❤️😊

    I raised two boys as a single mom. Thankfully their father was a part of their life but didn't help financially..I worked a job I hated for years forty plus hours a week to make about 1200.00 a month. I went without countless times so they could eat. It was hard but there were good times and we look back and laugh about the crazy cars we had or the time I tried to pass off hot dog spaghetti as a meal suggestion. I don't regret the struggle. I raised my kids well and to do better than I was doing. Now they're 20 and 28...Both married one in the military. One opt for college and graduated with a degree in political science. He just recently had a baby and is the best dad.i would not change a thing from the past struggles. I did what moms do. We hustle and grind and make it work.

      @@frenchonj I remember just starting out, and my young husband and I (20/24) ate mostly oatmeal for breakfast and ramen noodles with a touch of frozen broccoli florets. We didn't mind, but each year we would make new strides. I remember having no car and putting the groceries in the baby carriage and my husband carrying our son all the way home, and hiking up the 3 flights of stairs with the bags to our no AC apartment. Memories! I think the foods you mentioned may have also been created for convenience when people moved into cities (away from home gardens) and women largely entered the workforce and needed to speed up their dinner prep and have items that could stay "fresh" until the next shopping trip.

    My dad spent time away from us after a serious car accident which nearly killed him, mom walked away with barely a scratch. Mom worked on local farms to earn money to keep a roof over my head. Times were very tough but we survived. I remember getting a whooping from my mom who would then tell my dad when he came home from work and I got another whooping. My dad has passed now and my mom is 81 and in poor health - I appreciate her. She and dad bought the house I live in now after my ex husband left me with nothing but my grandma's furniture - I am forever grateful to them.
    Your mom has raised a lovely family and she is proud of you. I am glad you all survived and you have this brilliant youtube channel.

    Damn right this song is relatable to so many. Raised three sons to be men after we lost their dad 21 years ago when the twins were 2 1/2 and eldest was almost 4. All we can do is raise them best we can, provide them with common sense, good ethics, do our best to provide for them, love them and hope they stay good once they are grown. Blessed to hear so many people compliment them to me, but have to admit, they are so like their dad, I doubt I had much to do with it.

    I'm in tears listening to you.....luv this! I have been through alot in my life. I have six kids! Had my first child at 16. I was raised in an abusive home and as I had my children my parents started getting involved, not to the point of just being grandparents, but starting talking about me to my kids as they got older when they would go visit them. My heart aches cause I have my own mistakes.....I wasn't giving the "tools" to be a good mom, but I tried. I made sure I was always there as much as I could be. Obviously it wasn't enough. My kids Father's were never there......walked out of their lives and I was the one that was the blame. I've often been suicidal as I felt alone & not loved nor wanted. I have kept on going throughout the yrs, but when I lost my only son back in 2012 that sent me spiraling. Just worse than anything that I have gone through.....losing my late husband, the physical/mental abuse, when I got raped or even being strangled with a belt. Nothing was as worse. I can only hope that one day my kids will look back and recognize the sacrifices that I made for them....to keep them safe.
