- 6 months ago I was somewhat against E-bikes and the idea of them, mostly because they seemed dorky and on paper looked very heavy. However, after realizing it would be easy to demo a YT decoy down here in San Clemente, I decided to give it a go. I rode a 29er pro for a few hours... I was hooked and ordered the Pro Race model the next week. The Decoy rides much lighter than it says on paper and handles and corners exceptionally well for a slack long travel enduro bike. I found myself smiling the entire ride including the uphills and I could finally hit ALL the trails I wanted in an hour or so, instead of half the day. Bottom line, I was having MORE fun riding, and that's what it's all about.

Eric F i mean he’s not doing it because he isn’t capable of pedaling a real bike it’s cause he wants to get his riding in and not have it be a fill day excursion and he’s already payed his dues in the community so I have no problem with it

I was actually thinking of getting an e-mtb but 2 things really make me hesitate: weight and motor noise.
I actually ride a mtb of 24 lbs and I can’t imagine what it’s like to ride one of the double! 😱

Better with coil? Or do you think the air shock gives much needed pop at that weight? I like the 29er version (less travel, I don’t get airborne like you). Any drawbacks you can think of going that way? Thanks for the review. Oh, and what trail is that? San Clemente?
Yeah I think air is better with the weight and I rode the 29er pro and loved it. Not sure of the trail names but they re located right next to YT in SC
@@WesPeebles I have a coil shock and it does bottom out a bit too easily unless you add a lot of HSC to reduce the harshness when you hit bottom. I am considering changing the spring to one of those new Progressive Springs from Cane Creek or MRP.

Thanks for this great video. Sick trail too! I split my time between the CO Rockies and LA. Have a YT Tues in LA. Greatly limited to trails, Big Bear is a journey for weekends. Totally convinced this is the E-Bike I need. Still send it and enjoy WAY more riding and not relying on a shuttle!!!

The Steeziest Emtb Shred Vid !!, Is this a YT ad? Should be. Watching EMBN, looking at reviews, i mean a lot of them. I'm at 50 now and was the hardest HT fan, basically because of riding N Shore in the late 80's, and I haven't even bought a Fullsus yet! I do remember some dudes telling everyone one day back then , that there was a Fullsus on the mountain. So I keep looking, and this is the best time for the tech.

Great video. Straight to the point. I use a customized Invis sticker pack to protect the frame. It takes some take to apply it to the bike, but it´s definitely worth the time!

what made you mullet instead of the 29er? Tnx
I wanted the most DH capable bike so the pro race was my choice and it only comes in that configuration. Honestly I think too much thought is put into wheel size and you'd be happy riding either size or combo.

Mud guards are from Worldwide Cyclery. You can order them on their website. I believe he mounted a front mud guard in the rear.
I ride a Capra and love it! Lately I've been curious about the Decoy and your vids make me want to pull the trigger! You're ripping on it. I'm curious about the extra 20lbs, how does it jump compared to your regular ride?

Thats why i dont demo a ebike because i know ill want one, but dont want to make my self spend that much on a bike. You can really see the extra gravity that thing has when your in the air though. It falls like a rock.

MTB MIKE yeah..... the force to the ground, not the rider. Suspension is set up accordingly to weight of the system. Doesn’t affect the rate of how fast it falls.
@@kyleantonowich4335 The arch in the air is definitely affected by weight.
JakeRoot that is not true. 100% not true. All objects follow the same parabolic path independent of weight. Everything falls with an acceleration of -9.81 m/s^2. The vertical velocity component is slow enough to ignore wind resistance.
