Before I go out to practice I just wanted to say he demonstrated his own tip about keeping your head up. Both times at 49m he was watching the line, dropped his head and body weight came forward. Made me happy to see him nail it!

@@notnadz_ just sayin. Jeez
I had the biggest smile when you finally hit it! Thanks for including the frustrations you went through, that kind of honesty is the best lesson in my book. Too many "how to" vids don't teach enough about how to deal with failure, and finally succeeding because of hard work and not settling for a coming up a few inches short.
7:01 When someone can bunnyhop better than you unintentionally...
That’s sad if you can’t bunny hop higher than that lmao.
@@tagdayley , you gotta start somewhere, right? But yeah, it is sad that I can't bunny hop very high at all...

Santeri: Dude that is one of the easiest tricks to do on a bike. I can wheelie, bunny hop, tail whip, etc. next time think about what you are saying.
I really liked the editing technique from 3:15, it's like a training montage, but it's cleverer
I also liked the almost final attempt before tea, with all the frustration, swearing, censoring sounds at those swearing and whenever the wheel touched the ground, and the "this is the one, Mike" shouts
it's just one clip fading into the last clip.. super basic stuff
faceballbat Yeah, but it looks really cool.

What was said "Michael that was it!"
What was meant "Can we go home now?"
Daley hahaha
Well, it actually was, his wheel didn't touch the ground until he was about an inch(2.54cm) past the line
@Cosmonauteable why do you have to be so nasty, who hurt you?
Nice and calm , nice and calm
“FECKING EDIOT !!”
I like how we can really tell your control over the bike as a whole improves as you learn how to manual. I'm not sure how much you noticed, but it's really clear that you learning how to manual improved your bike handling in other aspects. You were doing clean bunnyhops in your anger at being unable to manual.
This man can prove that anything is possible, it just takes time
bluey tRUE
2:09 that spin was cool
What you said about looking where you want to go is an amazing tip. Manualed further than i ever thought i could. Try to keep low, relax, and look where you want to go. Just amazing. Thank you my dude.
Don't forget a cup of tea can work wonders!
And he learned to bunny hop while raging for not getting the 50 meter xD 6:58
Nikola Maric took me 2 months to do a clean hop while this guy did it and not even realize
Kuya Pops idk for me personally it was pretty easy to learn , you just kinda have to lift your legs up when you jump without releasing the peddals , but i didnt learn it by accident i practiced for a few days xD
Nikola Maric yh
Nikola Maric lol even tho I am pretty late watching this video I was going to say. At least he doesn’t need to make a video on how to bunny hop.

men its a bike, ever seen a vid. of mountain biking by Fabio or Danny???
It is actually a old style dirt jumper and they can survive nearly anything
Before anyone looks too far into my comment, I was joking, it was supposed to be funny, NOT taken seriously haha
He dident just pound th ground, he but a bit of stress on the disk break
It’s got suspension and thick tyres and probably freeride rims that bike can survive 15 foot gap jumps nevermind lightly hitting it in the ground
Nothing is more funny tgan a Scottish man getting pissed of
I would argue that a Scottish man excitedly happy is funnier, but both are funny non the less.

Thanks for the video! I'm a 52 year old trying to learn how to manual on a soft tail mountain bike. My back hurts and my attempts look like yours. Thanks for sharing your fails. It's so encouraging to see someone else struggle like me ;-)
Soft tail? I think you mean hard tail. Unless you have a full suspension.
I just found your channel today i think, and I think this may be one of the best channels on YT. Your videos are so wholesome and you're going out there, having fun, meeting goals, and capturing excellent high quality content. I can really feel the emotion when you were struggling in this video, and especially when you finally nailed it. Keep it up.
Watching a short angry Scottish man jumping up and down with his bike is probably the funniest thing I watch.

Wait.....
I just discovered this channel, and I love it! I happened to go to London around the same time back in 2017 and remember seeing a man doing a manual in one of the places that I visited .... AND HE LOOKS LIKE MIKE!!! I wish I knew you then!!
You should try to see if you can still do what you have done on learn quick.

That’s incredibly easy to do with suspension forks, it’s literally like a trampoline
I Can't believe how emotional I got watching you nail this! I asked for a unicycle as a present for my 47th birthday. I didnt ride it for 6 months but was riding all the way around the basketball courts well before I turned 48.
Perseverance and sleeping on it. The sleeping part is a BIG deal for locking in the 'muscle' memory

Learn to 180 or 360 a bmx ?
Archie bates I don't think he can do that
KyZn Lucky
That's why I commented it it's called quick learn wouldn't be any good if he could already do it
180 is easy, I think Mike can learn that really fast.. The problem would be landing it, meaning doing a fakie and 180 again.. 360 is harder and also he will get hurt without a foam pit
only if he a lil bish
Well the closest foampit to me is 30km away so I also had to drive there to learn tricks.. And I was 13 when I was learning 360 (now I'm 22), no point really hurting yourself when you don't have to..
I never thought you could rage mid-ride
Great video! This is the first manual tutorial that I think truly outlines the frustration involved with trying to learn this skill. I also noticed my back and arms were sore and I thought I was the only one that experienced that. Love the videos, keep it up, Mike!
Learn to do handstand push-ups
i still watch this from time to time because the level of excitement and happiness i also feel when he accomplishes the 50m mark is amazing

Mike Boyd may I know what bike you are using??
zyloh zyloh Its a dirt jumper bike and most people who dirt jump build their bikes from specific parts. To get a bike exactly like this one would be hard, because alot of dirt jumper get custom everything, even down to spokes, rims, etc
Midas Sandahl what is a bike similar to this ??
You cannot imagine how i have laughed because you are at the same time funny but you don't joke with it, until you reach those 50 meters !!! A very beautiful life's lesson
Hey Mike, ask your mate the name of that bike, I'm rather interested in it
Q u i n n yeah me too
Q u i n n It's a NukeProof I believe
It's a Twentyfourseven Slacker. I don't think they're made anymore but you'll find a secondhand one on Ebay.
You don't say
Ross Gaming its twentyfourseven but he put nukeproof bars on
When learning to not use the brake so much, an alternative way to progress would have been to deathgrip, basically turn the brake levers to a position where you can't reach them
I love the fact that whenever he says: "This is the one" he gets like 9 meters.
“A cup of tea can work wonders” some UK shit right there
Wow you are so motivating....I also love to learn things and can do many different things (but am really no master in any of them sadly). Setting milestones is a great way to motivate yourself as well. Found your channel because of the unicycle video.
