- Lake Havasu City Arizona is a gorgeous waterfront city on Lake Havasu with a population of approximately sixty thousand people. Lake Havasu is a large reservoir formed by the Parker Dam on the Colorado River. Lake Havasu straddles the border between Arizona and California with four hundred miles of stunning shoreline. Along the shores of Lake Havasu, there are twenty-seven fully functioning lighthouse replicas. The replicas were built to the specifications of the originals from the east coast, west coast and Great Lakes.
London Bridge is probably the most famous landmark in Lake Havasu City. It was originally built in 1831 to span the River Thames in London England. However, by 1962 it was no longer sturdy enough to carry the increased volume of traffic in London. Entrepreneur Robert McCulloch purchased the bridge for 2.4 million and had it shipped over piece by piece to the United States and had it reassembled in the Mojave Desert. Once the bridge was constructed, a channel was dredged underneath it and the bridge opened in 1971.
Lake Havasu city has some beautiful parks, such as Rotary Park which is right on the shores of the Lake Havasu. Another great park is London Bridge Beach Park, which is located right along the famous Bridgewater Channel. For $4 round trip you can take a ferry from Lake Havasu City to Havasu Landing Resort and Casino on the California side of the reservoir. Ferry trips depart hourly, just north of London Bridge.

Just an added FYI: The Parker Dam is the deepest dam in the world. So, the region has two great sightseeing items...The London Bridge and Parker Dam. And the California side of the lake, is called Havasu Lake.
I didn't know that the Parker Dam was the deepest in the world until you left this comment. I did some Googling and it said the dams structural height is 320 feet, of which 235 feet is below the riverbed, which was necessary to reach the bedrock. Only 85 feet extends above the riverbed. I appreciate the additional information. Thanks for the great comment!

What a fun and exciting video showcasing all the amazing things to do in Lake Havasu City, Arizona! The crystal-clear waters of Lake Havasu and the iconic London Bridge were simply stunning, and I loved seeing all the different activities that the city has to offer. The Bridgewater Channel looked like a great place to hang out and enjoy the sunshine, and I was impressed by the variety of water sports available in the area. As a Cyclist from Switzerland, I really enjoyed watching this video and learning more about this hidden gem in Arizona. It definitely made me want to plan a trip to Lake Havasu City! Lake Havasu City is a very fun place to visit and a nice escape from the cold in the winter. It is pretty cool how they purchased the bridge, shipped it to the US and reassembled it in the desert. We loved all of the lighthouse replicas too!
Wow its amazing how they imported the London bridge in pieces and then put it back together like a jigsaw puzzle. Looks great. Fascinating history. The replicas are all very neat and omg the scenery all around. Absolutely beautiful
Thanks! It is pretty cool how they disassembled and then reassembled London Bridge in the middle of the desert. I have seen some old pictures from the 1960s when they were putting it back together and it just looks weird because there wasn't a canal beneath it. But ultimately the plan worked and it is a very cool place to visit. I loved all of the lighthouses too!
Actually, American's bought that they thought it's the tower bridge that they bought but it's an ordinary bridge!

Woah, talk about an oasis in the desert! It tickles me that they actually called this place London! I can tell you from experience it looks nothing like the UK's offering hahah! That being said in many ways its much more beautiful!
Yes they do call the area right around London Bridge - London Village. But you are right, doesn't look anything like London, because London doesn't have palm trees. LOL. It is a beautiful area in the desert. Thanks!

Love that they took a bridge from London and set it up here :) London Bridge Park and Rorary Park both looked so nice and Parker Dam looked beautiful . Love that the city is on the Arizona/ Califo border and that 27 replica lighthouses are along it . This was great to see an the mountains there are beautiful:) ~ Anna
