@@bartix698 That is a luxury product. You can justify it from that sidepoint. However, you cannot justify it from being a good deal by comparison. Even for a luxury good it is overpriced. That will only show that you lack financial sense for me and are sucker which buys stuff for more than it is worth. Another issue it is a luxury good which is highly depreciative in value. Rich people buy expensive houses and sports cars, because they do not fall in value quickly or in some cases, even become more expensive with time. This is why a lot of very rich people buy very expensive luxury goods. It is a way to store their wealth. A GPU is a product which is quickly depreciating and you will have to replace it every two years with new one. By comparison, you could invest same money into car tuning for example. Buy some high class car interior parts and that will have lasting impact.
With luxury it is difficult to say that is worth and what is not, because it is highly subjective. GPUs in this case is a product which is difficult to justify paying premium over its asking price. Sure, buy them at their asking price, but why go over your head and buy them at inflated price?

I was surprised too when I checked Microcenter near me the other day and saw they had so many 4090's. What's less surprising is that they are over-inflated in price as if they're still in short supply despite there being so many available. The GPU market these days is the wild west. 2 Things. First, demand from China isn't there like it was before do to the 4090 D being a 4090 with a tweaked BIOS which can obviously be _"un-tweaked"_ to perform equally so people aren't buying them by the pallet and reselling them in China for twice the original prices. We were literally competing with a country of 1.4 billion, all of the tech companies there working with AI, oh, and the Chinese fricken government...for a gaming GPU.
Second: Most people who were unable, or unwilling to pay $1600, $1700...$2500+ in some cases for a 4090 or were stuck waiting for ones closer or at MSRP to come in stock are at the _"Whelp, I waited this long, I may as well save another $200-$400 and wait for the 5090's and 5080's. Worst case scenario I still end up buying a 4090 for $1100 give or take or I get stuck with a 5080 and 16GB of VRAM for around that same price. Best case scenario I pay $1800-$2000 on a 5090 and can use it from day 1, not day 533."_
So all of these $1700+ models are probably going to keep piling up as Nvidia tries to empty it's warehouses and clear stock before AMD can announce that they changed their mind and are releasing high end cards that are faster than the 4090, have more VRAM, are better at Raytracing (than the 4090, not 5090), faster with rasterization and come in at $1000 USD.
Fingers crossed. It is nice to see all of these 4090's and 4080 Supers...buggers are tempting the heck out of me but I am trying to stay strong in my protest...a protest that has me spending the night in a Best Buy parking lot, most likely in late November/early December in the Northeast US just to hand over $2000 dollars to Nvidia anyway. *_sigh_* I love PC gaming, it's such and affordable hobby for an enthusiast who loves to tinker with hardware *AND* software while playing tons of single player AAA games.
