Wilcom Hatch Appliqué Class 2: Learn more about applique - flowers, "freehand" cloud and sun
Beginner Applique Class
In this class, we learn more about applique - practice, practice, practice! We create 3 different flowers with completely different shapes and then add a "freehand" applique sun and clouds (not using the freehand tool, we use the applique tool, but we don't have a picture for the sun and clouds, we are creating them as we go). We organize our design so that it is ready to stitch out using the COMBINE APPLIQUE TOOL. Lots of great applique work on this simple design! We use the create applique tool, regular digitizing tools (closed shape), and learn how to create perfect curves by perfecting the "less is better" rule when plotting nodes- I show you what works and exactly why it works - and we also use the block tool on the stems of the flowers.
As usual, the picture that you use as a backdrop is available in the Facebook group: OML EMBROIDERY UNIVERSITY
Skills :
Applique basics
Properly plotting nodes, why less is better
COMBINE APPLIQUE TOOL

Thank you so much for this video, so informative and it really makes me want to rush out now, demand a picture from my grandchildren and 'have a go'. Brilliant!
i am glad the video helps - now go have fun with pictures from your grandchildren!!
:) I don't have Hatch, but it can be translated to my Embird and PE Design 10. I got to the point, that I am watching digitizing in any software you are teaching. Love it!
Thanks Sue. Great tutorial!
I love it thank you enjoy the class
Love your vids
Thanks!
Hi Sue I am new to this programme and hard of hearing, is their anyway of a beginner printout I can use
I thoroughly enjoy your tutoring videos. If you combine the applique in this design, the fabrics of the different flowers (if you use various fabrics) would overstitch since they are so close together. I think I would first stitch the left one, cut it out, stitch the middle, cut the fabric etc. After that, you can stitch one after the other. Or is my thinking wrong here?
either way would work, it would depend on how you want it to look.
This is hatch embroidery composer or the digitizer ?
Nice
Thank you so much! Please share the link for part 1 as I can't find it.

Once you create the Applique Function it also means it creates a STOP for the embroidery machine to Stop? Also How Can i Create a STOP in Hatch Software? Thank You
usually you create a stop with a thread color change. If you have a multineedle machine, you can add the stops at the machine.
OML Embroidery oh ok I have a single needle tajima but I thought I had to program the stop in hatch but with the change color I have to manually stop it? Thank You
I only have PE Next. Looking for a new program that does more and can be used with my scan n cut dx225. This seems fairly easy to use. I am also looking at PE 11. Any suggestions or input would be appreciated.
I Am trying to digitize a 3D Puffy Foam Design letter with Sating Outline And a STOP For the Puffy Foam But seem not to find a video anywhere for this for Hatch Software
