@@D4gger542 being that's there's extremely little information on the next Nintendo, don't even know if it'll be called the "Switch 2".... there's no telling if there will be a lite version. I don't want to have a smaller screen in order to have controls integrated to the whole device. Why do you want wobbly little joycons, rather than one unit? Most kids even find the joycons too small and uncomfortable to use, when used sideways in a 2 player way.

Getting rid of the joycons defeats the purpose of the switch, and nintendo has made it clear: They don’t need to be up to generational standards to sell, that’s pretty clear with the switch having 140M units sold, almost 3 times the ps5 and over 7 times more than the xbox series x

The Switch was basically a Nintendo-customized NVidia Shield. It's far more likely that the Switch 2 (or whatever it ends up being called) is gonna resemble a Steam Deck OLED or similar device under the hood than anything more modern like a Lenovo Legion Go or even an Asus ROG Ally.

Absolutely no chance of Gta6 on Switch2.. I've a feeling it's going to make the ps5 chug like is the case with every new gta.. eventually it will play well on the ps6 or 7.
I am no fan of consoles. But they have solid enough specs. I doubt that once the settings are nailed down it won't run rather well.

We paid for the WoW expansions. The Burning Crusade, Wrath Of The Lich King and Cataclysm. I stopped playing before Mists Of Pandaria. It didn't all come with the subscription.

My switch has been practically useless lol. I bought it for Dead by Daylight because I’m a DBD nerd and wanted it for every version. I’m still pissed I can’t buy and play the classic Pokémon games on it lol. The older GBA and like the DS diamond and pearl Pokémon are the only “Nintendo” games I have any care or interest in. And that’s just the old ones lol not even the new ones.
Now my steam deck actually has seen some use and been pretty good experience.

Game Boy showed you can game anywhere, Play Station Portable made it so accessible even for my 3rd world, rinky dinky ass of a country and the Nintedo Switch can be played handheld, connected to a tv, local and online play, touchscreen and the fucking joycons. They were all innovative handheld consoles doing something different and something fun while everything else are just copycats, clones, shadows of what this 3 had accomplished and to say they're not is just objectively wrong.
The Switch 2 doesn't need to be powerful. The Steam Deck is a good demonstration of this...

Depends on when it releases, the steam deck is about as powerful as a PS4 and it's already 2 years old now, by the time the switch 2 releases it going to need to at least be as powerful as the one X or PS4 pro at least when docked, if it's as powerful as the base PS4 and isn't released by early 2025 it's going to be severely underpowered for what it's probably going to cost at launch
Besides performance, the biggest concern imo is hall effect joysticks being standardized and Nintendo finally making a real online infrastructure comparable to what we've had since the 360
If they get those 2 things right they might have a shot at making another homerun

That's in peak theoretical performance, for switch 2 in handheld mode, clocked around 600mhz.
Ps4 architecture uses a now pretty old architecture. It can't actually come anywhere near its peak theoretical flops compared to rdna or ampere (switch 2).
Here's an example of why.
Gcn has 1 scheduler per cu. It can issue 1 warp per clock and takes 4 cycles to process one warp. Ps4 has 18 cu's for 18 schedulers in total.
Ampere has 4 schedulers per sm, they can each issue and resolve a warp in 1 cycle.
Switch 2 gpu has 12 sm's for 48 schedulers in total.
Although ps4 doesn't have a portable mode, so it doesn't make much sense to compare it to switch 2 portable instead of docked, which will be around 3 - 3.5 Tflops (1 to 1.2 ghz) to ps4's 1.8 tflops.

People keep saying "Steam Deck exists because of the switch", but seem to miss that the steam deck was originally conceived as a Steam Machine back in 2015, including most of the design elements. It was only put off due to a lack of decent mobile hardware. The idea of "portable console/pc" is not "innovative", it's expected. We had 5 generations (including dsi) of "portable consoles" before the switch. GPD Win has been making portable gaming pc's for almost a decade. Nothing about the switch being portable was innovative. Nintendo's innovation was, at best, the joycons, and only in the sense that dedicated, integrated, and detachable controllers were used (which I do consider an innovation). Likewise, the steam deck's only "innovation" was steam os 3, which was the key reason it was as successful as it was. Neither was innovative in the portable space, plain and simple.
I would argue the inspiration of a swtich-like device was from the Wii-U rather than the switch itself

People need to quit pretending the 2DS wasn't a single screen split to display as two screens. "Oh, you just can't do it without two screens!" is complete bullshit. The way any DS or 3DS emulator does screen display is just how a 2DS did it. Playing DS and 3DS games on a Steam Deck is how a 2DS displays them. The idea that Nintendo has to "abandon" however many years of their handhelds if they don't include a second screen is just absurd. Hell, the Switch, PS4, and XB1 all have the Mega Man Zero/ZX collection which includes two DS games. Nintendo by no means needs to include a second screen people just need to not be stupid.
GTA V could run well on the Switch. It was released on the 360 FFS. The Switch is _not_ weaker than the 360.

I bought an original Switch just after Nintendo got the stock issues under control. I got bored with it relatively quickly and used it off and on since. Most recently, I've disconnected the dock and left it uncharged. It hasn't been charged in so long that I think the battery might be ruined. Steam Deck, on the other hand, I play most of my PC games on it now at least 50% or more and love it.
Brother the steam deck isn't running behind. Lmao if anything they are doing even better now with the OLED refresh. People who buy a steamdeck OLED know what they're paying for. I just bought one and love it. Have had no problems so far!!!! It all depends on what you are trying to play.
The Switch is in my top 3 consoles of all time and I haven’t picked it up since TotK came out. The console is still great but if I want to play anything new there’s no way I’m playing it on the Switch. Nintendo is gonna need to drop something pretty powerful to remain a legitimate option.
I love Nintendo Switch, the problem is if you compare any of the $60 games to any $60 games on any other console you get your money worth from other consoles, the switch has its pros but my bigeest problem is I bought so many of the $60 switch games and they are just trash in my opinion I didnt enjoy them much but there are a few that I do enjoy it for if I was really into video games and played at home I definitelywouldnt choose the nintendo but since I like playing on the go and here and there its just fine for me!

Any third party game on Switch is developed to run on the console. However, not all run well or have the same graphics. The point is companies will work on the game to run on the console. Also we know nothing about the console. We only have supposed leaks and rumors Nintendo is focusing on Switch until further notice. There might be something in the summer or fall. Until then we just have to wait.
Switch 2 can't even run GTA 5 let alone GTA 6

Can we just acknowledge that with Nintendo, already using ARM for switch could literally just invest in a Apple like custom silicon solution that for Gaming would exceed every single other system on the Market, even 99% of peoples x86 based gaming pcs and establish the absolute superiority in raw power Nintendo was famous for in the 80s and 90s. But that would make too much sense now does it?
I gave up Nintendo after they released the Wii. Honestly didnt miss out on anything lol. Have all of their consoles still to this day; but after gamecube/ 3ds consoles the gimmicks and rehashes are got tiring. Theyll just probably remake zelda, mario games for switch 2 and maybe a new pokemon that also runs at 15-20 frames also is my guess.

Legion Go is the best electronic device Ive bought in my life. Its legit everything the switch should be. When im docked at home its running 3 monitors lol.. it is crazy good. I would buy a switch its just not worth it... until you talk about durability. Switch lite is good for a 3 year old. Tough. They lose all value after that imo.

I wouldn't say Nintendo doesn't innovate they are just incredibly lazy and uncaring about actual quality. They specifically designed the Switch to be underpowered (the CPU is undervolted) and chose older hardware on purpose because they didn't design a true console, they designed a modern gameboy. Not since the N64 has Nintendo ever cared about pushing the limits of power and capability of their consoles, they have decided they are a children's company and leaned into that for decades now.

My problem with the Nintendo switch is it’s to big to carry around, also it was very easy to beat Mario kart 8 deluxe. And they removed the store/ Nintendo E-shop on the 3DS. I never really found the new 3DS in the smaller size and the XL was just too uncomfortable to hold so I’d like to go back to the original 3DS and be able to play VVVVVV. I’m pretty sure it’s not on the new system, but I don’t know.

Mainly because steam is just that convenient, if I want pure power and graphics, I can play the games on my pc but if I want to go somewhere, I can use the steam deck and continue where I left off
And I don't have to worry about backwards compatibility
All I'll say I would rather play my New Nintendo 3DS over my Nintendo switch any day. Honestly since Nintendo made one unified console for mobile and home console the quality of the games have gotten worst.....cough cough Pokémon. I would rather go back the the dedicated mobile Gameboy like system then the beefier home console of the past.
