@@ModelMinutes absolutely cracking video, thanks to this I'll be sure to pick this kit up and possibly the other variant that trumpeter offers along with it. Looking forward to whatever else you have planned in this scale!
Very nice build of a nice little kit. I built it as well and it's one of my favorite models on display. Would love to see more 1/144 stuff. Seems to be a very underappreciated scale and you do them so well.
yes I notice the Heracles from Airfix is out... for big planes 1:144 can be a massive cost saver and space saver at home (until you buy the N Gauge railway to make your display project loo real!)
Very nice little build, no pun intended, just one comment regarding the comments about the Me-262 at the end, the swept wings on the Me-262 had nothing to do with improving its aerodynamics, when the two jet engines were delivered they turned out to be heavier than the manufacturer had promised and threw the aircraft centre of gravity out, Messerschmitt solution to restore the C of G was to sweep the wings back to compensate.
AUGUST 6th 2021… I really like 1/144 kits YOU SOLD ME ON THIS KIT… Like how you presented it… I’m going to look for this… I use N - GUAGE RAILROAD FIGURES FOR PILOTS AND GROUND CREW FOR 1/144 kits… sitting/ utility workers / construction workers ARE THE BEST … and you can still modify them for the diorama … GREAT JOB… Chris from Ohio 🇺🇸
Hi Matt, that was a excellent build, a little small for me, I prefer 1/48th scale, I do like the F86, but me favorite version is the F86D, take care and keep safe mate.
This is one stunning 1/144 scale F-86 Sabre. Well done, Matt this is another great model you have made! I think you have got a real knack for this scale. Also, I guess I’m slightly biased in my assessment. Since I adore the F-86 and other early cold war jets. Heck I even have sat in the cockpit of a static F-86 Sabe back in mid-February, at the Classic Flyers Air Museum in Tauranga, NZ. If you ever get a chance to sit in the cockpit of a classic fighter………it’s a must do! Great video too BTW. Loved the collaboration with Vladimir. But now I think you now need to make a MIG 15.
Oh wow! That's so cool! I've never sat in the cockpit of a classic warbird, but have in some slightly larger planes . . . :) I'll have to see if I can find a mig to go with this one
@@ModelMinutes Which larger aircraft have you been exactly on Matt? Would love to know. Anyway, I hope you do get a chance to sit in the cockpit of a classic warbird. It’s well worth it, for the experience alone. However, you do get a slight sense of how claustrophobic the cockpit would be during combat. Especially in the skies over “MIG Alley” in the world’s earliest jet vs jet dogfights. Were pilots would have no more than a few seconds of reaction time, to respond to any threat. Anyway, on a more positive note, I’m aware that Eduard makes a 1/144 MIG 15 kit. Eduard do make some amazing 1/144 scale kits. Got the Revell re-boxing of the Eduard 1/144 Junkers Ju-52 kit (another nice-looking kit) in the stash. Guess the Eduard 1/144 MIG 15 kit is now on your wish list, thanks to this comment!
@@ShuttleFactoryScaleModels I’ll have to look at getting some of those Eduard kits in the future. When I’ve cleared some of my stash that is… I’ve been on larger passenger / cargo aircraft, sometimes in the cockpit, although I once had the chance to get inside the BBMF DC3, it was much smaller than I expected
@@ModelMinutes That is awesome you got to go in the Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight’s DC-3. And also got to take a look at the cockpit. Can’t say I’ve had to chance to go inside the cockpit of a Gooney Bird. The closest I’ve come to a DC-3 was seeing one at Tauranga Airport on the tarmac, that was offering pleasure flights. Over 80 years later it’s still a beautiful aircraft I must say.
Glad to see a build at this scale. I've been contemplating a wargame at this scale between multiple players using a single aircraft each. Perfect little plane for the job 😄
Awesome! Thank you! Yes, RUclips has been a bit weird recently - sending out notifications for things it normally doesn't and then not sending them out for things you actually want - i've also experienced this lol
Nice build, Matt. It is really amazing what s possible in such small scale. Little note to the history part of the F86: It wasn't a us development. In fact the f86 was a German plane adapted by the Messerschmidt project 1101, which was developed at the very end of ww2.
If you like Vallejo paints just use the vallejo brand Thinner Medium, or Airbrush thinner. In my experience works better than water and provides a good finish
At least you forget the weights in a tiny fighter. I forgot to add weight to an A380, which is the largest model I have to date. Fortunately, the gear config causes the tail to sit just above the ground, which makes it look like it's taking off.
If you like these 1/144 aircraft kits, you might want to consider getting one of the Eduard kits! They are on a completely different level of detail, even compared to this amazing kit. I've personally built the Mig-21MF, Avia B.534, Spitfire Mk.IXE and Mig-15Bis from their range.
Always thought that myself. The detail they are producing in this scale now are immense, but the panel lines are way too deep and need to be calmed down or done away with. I have this kit myself, and it's pretty decent apart from the engravings.
The ones I got from them had "alien" heads- just smooth blobs with no face/helmet details. Preiser has some NATO crew figures on this scale but none are seated pilots.
Oh, there is a company, Reedoak.com that does 3D figures including 1/144 pilots for the H-60 helicopter family made by Dragon; guess they could by used in others. They look good, but haven't got my hands on them yet.
Be careful how you use that Tamiya extra thin. It can be very agressive on some plastics and those tiny parts will disappear. In particular, Revell plastic really doesn't like the extra thin when used excessively.
Yes dont let the boc art fool you. This is bettr than some 72 kits. But why even bother to produce such a small scale..? What i would appreciate ... All korea sabre models to feature is black checkerbd on tje tail,
It can work well for wargaming, although aerial games often use 1/300 or 1/600. They can also be used for air support in games using 15mm troops. And yes, the model will be a smaller scale than the figures, but that's OK, they're far away.
Planning to buy this kit, looking forward to the premiere to seeing how it turns out!
Hope you enjoy it!

I think that for smaller jets in this scale the panel lines should be done away with.
I suppose they do look quite stylised in such a small scale

Can i use industrial spray can for painting?
As long as it doesn’t react with plastic I’m sure it’s fine

How much did you spend on the kit? ( preferably in U.S. dollars ) if it’s relatively inexpensive I’ll have to pick one up
