- Stand-up comedian Louis C.K. talks to Charlie Rose about the possibility of writing a Broadway play and describes why he gets emotional every time he goes to see one.
man, I think that's the quality I admire the most in Louie, dude makes the mundane sound other-wordly fascinating
that precisely the job of an artist :)
I cry at concerts for the same reason. Group of people there to share an experience, all that consciousness pointed in the same direction, and the artists that put all the time and sincerity into making something special. People creating magic out of thin air right in front of you.
i know exactly what he's talking about. i get the same feeling every time at the movies, no matter what the movie is. it's the environment and the experience of everyone around you. it's knowing that you're partaking in the magic and witnessing this beautiful moment. i always tear up.
I love this man.
wow, what a describer he is. painting a "sitdown" in this pictures... amazing
And then he basically makes and produces a play with Horace and Pete.
And it was the best thing he ever did
@@nintendonut100 totally agree. Could never get any of my friends to check it out but I loved it
#same #relatable
Byohtiful.
Is that the "beautiful" in Jim Carrey's rich person's laugh bit? OHHH BYOHTIFUL.
I feel this way about comedy. It's the vulnerability. The first comic comes on stage and it's like a texas shootout. You both know what's about to go down and there's a lot to lose, but also a lot to gain. But like Louis says more than anything everybody agrees that hey there's something we want to see right here. This does not happen in many other places, not so viscerally.
It is interesting to watch how he had to explain to an entertainment culture that theater plays is a killer.
mexican mother mary in the back lol
La patrona
He explained magic
I think he is joking. that's a very comedian thing to do is to see a guy like Rose read something you said as a bit and then keep up the bit as if you were serious.
@@PhillSutton I'm a big Louie fan
@@PhillSutton this is very much in line with his absurdist humor. Imagine a scene from his FX show where he walks into a Broadway show, the show only starts and every one is silently watching. All of a sudden you hear Louie loudly, uncontrollably sobbing. Everyone turns and stares at him etc
I'm not Louie so I'm sure he could do this scene better but you get the point. It seems very much in line with being the sort of bit he'd do
All that being said, it mostly certainly can be based in real emotion as many bits are. But I doubt he starts uncontrollably sobbing at the start of every play. He prob just feels melancholy
You should, when it is a crappy show
gay
I love Donald Trump for president Donna mccune
it has to be an exaggeration. who cries at their own appreciation of something. I SMILE when that happens. Not cry, ughh cringe.
lol you've never been moved to tears by anything?
So just because you don't cry that means nobody does? Besides, nobody asked you. Cringe
It’s cringe to not be on the spectrum?
