Me too, for the first few times, for a while I gave up and didn't think I'll ever try it again, but I did and succeeded 😁 I don't even use a mirror anymore, and my hands aren't dead after 😂
Dude honestly it works better than any other styling method. Commit to learning the French braid though because it is worth it. Braids prevent frizz without any product better than any denman or finger coil method that does use product
THANK YOU SO MUCH I spent years of my life watching tutorials by people with straight shiny hair (I do love that hair it’s just not like mine!) and failing to replicate them. It made me feel like I had to straighten my hair before styling it xx
Oh nooooo, I feel you! You can do so much with curly hair and the volume makes it look absolutely fabulous. Just RUclips search your curl pattern + curly hairstyles, like 3a curly hairstyles and feel beautiful!
Im so happy that i found your youtube channel as my daughter has curly hair and i have no experience of curly hair. Im literally just learning how to do her hair and she is 10!! She has been walking around with frizzy hair for years but not anymore. Ive learned so much from watching your videos. Her hair has never looked so good and thats thanks to you 🙂
Can I just say I love you and Amanda's matching outfits in your videos. The relationship between you two makes this so much fun to watch in addition to being so informative as a fellow curly girl.
I NEEDED THIS VIDEO!!! You literally saved my hair. I was following CGM strictly and was loosing so much hair 😭. My curls have gotten more bouncy and tighter. I can’t thank you enough ❤️. Thank you beauties ❤️!!! I can’t wait to learn more from you both!!
I wish I could french braid or Dutch braid my own hair! It would be so useful for summer day activities with my kids. I can do them for my daughter's, but my fingers get confused on myself! Your braids turned out super cute. Thanks for sharing.
I have curly hair like yours and I was watching a girl with straight hair do it and I was getting so frustrated, however whenever you wet it down and put the product in I tried that and it worked like a charm haha (I know nothing about hair) thank you for the tutorial!
I tried this and it turned out AMAZING. I have Amanda’s hair type and did Mell’s French braid style. I’m so happy cause now I have an out when I wash my hair at night!
I got out of the shower, put my hair up and checked youtube. I seriously needed this! Thank you so much, I just did my hair, and the modified braid will be my go to protective style now 😍 plus omg i lovee the mani moisture product you used! I love how you guys partner with great products, we love authentic seestars!
Yes! I try the Cantu curling cream as the base for semi color since it’s was all I had.-dint know if that’s wrong but it helps my 2 a pattern look better.
Amazing! I have literally been attempting this hairstyle and failing horribly for weeks. I really needed this in my life and that hack is so good. Thank you🙌🏽👏🏾
How do you get curly roots??? My roots are so flat then they start curling from the mid range to the ends. I have 3a/b hair and I’m still in transition
do you style w denman brush like mell showed in many of her videos( they dont ship those in my country so i use tangle teezer), that helped my WAVY hair, and also highlights made it pop out more
saaameee, i have super thick and heavy 2b-3a hair, and it does this when i don’t have layers! i don’t have them right now so my hair is wavy and flat at the top and curls halfway down
RUclips and my government watch woman always lists Manes first thing when I turn on my phone! Thank You! My twin seester died 4 years ago; we always were doing something to each other’s hair. I would send her funny pics of me in my bonnet hair drying! You guys help me get out of bed and in with my day, and I love you for it.
This is gonna sound weird but I always come to this channel when I'm depressed. I always feel better afterwards. Thinking about hair is my biggest escapism lol. Thanks Mell!
Mell: "Amanda you're my little girl today, you're my little cutie, you're so small" Amanda: *exasperated eye roll that literally anyone with a sister has perfected* I feel you Amanda :p
I was the French braiding queen in high school (way) back in the day. Alas - I'm too old for braids now (at least in public). You ladies rock those braids!!
This was SO NICE! I have belly button length hair and doing anything more than leaving it down was a hassle. This was so easy and I was able to get something done with my hair! SUPER HAPPY!
I just started researching how to work with my 3b/3c hair and actually bought decent hair products and now I just have so many ideas that I can't wait to try!! My hair needs revamped. It needs a trim, a shape, and i gotta learn how it's actually supposed to look when treated properly and I dont even know where to begin.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I needed it. When I saw Amanda’s story with the braids I thought “omg I wish I could make them” and now I can! Thank you!
I love that curl smoothie i had it to my daughter's hair after every shower and when her hair need to be moisturize and style i take the mist bottle wet her hair ad 2 to 3 finger tips to her hair and massage and brush it thru her hair has made a huge difference in her hair especially with braids.
Thanks for posting the tutorial! I have been transitioning from texturized to natural hair, and I was trying to find another style to do other than twists, but I can’t cornrow. It turned out great!
This video is a GAME CHANGER for me. Seriously. Just like Amanda, that ish goes waaaay over my head! You made the second one look so simple. I can’t wait to try it on myself & on my daughter when she’s a liiiittle older and will sit still long enough for me to do her hair like that 😅😍 btw Amanda, your head really isn’t big at all!! Don’t be self conscious about it!
I got so excited for this video!! I've sort of recently started wearing my hair in it's naturally wavy curly and the one thing about it is the no dry brushing which means i have a hard time wearing my hair in styles like i used to cause i use to do so many different braided styles in my hair
Omg you two are so cute together! I love this method! I used to do it all the time at night when I would wash my hair late and didn’t have time or the energy to dry it. I used the method on Amanda’s hair, but I am going to attempt braids like Mel’s 😳😎
Nail it!! I do braids to😍. My combination hair weavy- curly can be challenging. Braiding it leaves my hair feeling so soft and the girls are very well defined and last much longer.
Wow, those curls are poppin!!! I wishI could do that to my own hair but I'm more like lovely Amanda, um..uncoordinated. Mel your so multi talented. Your knowledge of hair is bar none. Your on camera talent is natural, as well as your comedic talent. Anyway love you and Amanda have learned a lot even though I'm naturally gray and curly. Fran🦋
Yay, the "dutch" braid! I've found it's the easiest for me to do on my own hair. I haven't braided my hair yet since getting my curls/waves really started & was thinking I'm far enough in my journey to be able to without major issues so this is perfectly timed! Thanks seesters!!!
Mell! I would absolutely LOVE if you would do a video on tips for getting your hair cut by a stylist who isn’t used to curly hair!! Or what to ask for at the hair salon because I feel like they always get it wrong 😣
Love you guys and this hairstyle. For your next video I would like to see an updated list of favorites products since I’m in serious need of some good products specially for styling and getting hold, definition, and even a nice crunch
Ohhhh my god you guys are simply the BEST! I love watching and learning from your videos but man alive, todays Bloopers!!!! I’m dying laughing especially when you say “why are we like this?” . My sister and I are the same way! Cheers to having great sisters!
I love your videos am currently on my curly hair journey getting my hair healthy again! I was wondering if you could do a video about the different types of curls and hair porosity. You mention them a lot in your videos but I don't know how to figure out exactly what type of hair I have.
You girls are ADORABLE!!! I have super curly hair. My 2 teenage daughters have long wavy hair. I should tell them to do double braids for a SEESTER STYLE summer photo! 🤩🤩 Also- The people who have this a thumbs down are ridiculous. 🙄
Cute!! Your modified braid hack is GENIUS, and yet so simple..... Sooo, how come I never thought of it? Oh, right! I don't have any patience or coordination either. 😋 I watched the "profesh" braid 3 times (once at .75X speed, ok!) and I STILL got lost! 🥴
Mel I am new to your channel and I have truly been struggling for so long trying to figure out how to deal with my wild curly hair. But I have recently watched so many of your videos and they have helped me so much. I just truly want to thank you for making these videos, for all the advice you have given me, and for giving me a chance to love my hair again. You are such an amazing creator. I love all over your videos they have helped me so much through my curly hair journey. Again thank you so much to you Mel and your wonderful seester. Love you both so much💖💖💖
Great tips! Thanks so much for always sharing which products you use.... BUT - what I'd really like to know is where you got those adorable tie-dyed tops/dresses 😊
Thank you so much for yet another wonderful video! I've been trying to think of ways to style my hair when I take my art club kids on our trip at the end of the school year without bringing a giant bag of products! LOL! This will be perfect!
Oh My God!! I just love you two. I'm obsessed with yall's videos. And they have help me so much. I have Amanda's hair but with more porosity and very dried cause of bleach and other chemicals. But thanks to yall videos I am on my journey of healthier hair 🥰❤ Oh!! And I'm Latina from Puerto Rico!! 🇵🇷
This is so gonna help ME with my daughter curly hair , if been braiding her hair wrong 🤦 Thank you sooooo much for this info & I feel inspired to keep learning and not give up.... Brissa from Texas 🤠
The way you hold the hair while you were braiding was really fascinating to me because i hold hair super differently!!
Me too. I can't even try to hold it that way. And I maybe hold it differently than you. It's one of those things that varies from person to person. 😄
I can only hold it the way they’re holding it whilst braiding and can’t hold it the other way but always wanted to😩😂
me too I hold my arms behind my head
Trish Pipkins yeah for sure! I think it’s like tying shoes, everyone has their own way that works for them
Alexia Luna same that’s what I do, I could never figure out how to hold my hands on the side for the braid to be on the side
Tried doing it, failed miserably, had a mental breakdown
Hahahaha sAme
S A M E 😭
Me too, for the first few times, for a while I gave up and didn't think I'll ever try it again, but I did and succeeded 😁 I don't even use a mirror anymore, and my hands aren't dead after 😂
Aww same , i’d Never dry and just look frizzy
glad i’m not the only one
Stunning!! I’ve always been afraid to try a braid out because of frizz, but this turned out amazing! 😍
Natalia D thank you! I’m so glad I’ve found channels like this x
Omg girl sameeeee
Im so happy that i found your youtube channel as my daughter has curly hair and i have no experience of curly hair. Im literally just learning how to do her hair and she is 10!! She has been walking around with frizzy hair for years but not anymore. Ive learned so much from watching your videos. Her hair has never looked so good and thats thanks to you 🙂
Aw, wish my mum had done that for me!
I wish my mum cared about my hair! Im the only curly in my family and still learning to care for it. She will thank you so much later in life!
They look so good in braidss, I luv how they look when they have the braids on and after they take them out. 😍😍
thank you!!
Can I just say I love you and Amanda's matching outfits in your videos. The relationship between you two makes this so much fun to watch in addition to being so informative as a fellow curly girl.
I love how you put the squeezed out conditioner on your sisters head lol. Truly a sister moment 😂❤
I am so happy to hear you've gotten your hair back on track, thank you for watching ❤️❤️
Oh, what was your experience with CGM? I’ve been on the method for nearly 10years butttt, I do seem to shed a lot of hair
I wish I could french braid or Dutch braid my own hair! It would be so useful for summer day activities with my kids. I can do them for my daughter's, but my fingers get confused on myself! Your braids turned out super cute. Thanks for sharing.
YES THE SEESTERS ARE BACKKKKK
I have curly hair like yours and I was watching a girl with straight hair do it and I was getting so frustrated, however whenever you wet it down and put the product in I tried that and it worked like a charm haha (I know nothing about hair) thank you for the tutorial!
where do y’all get all your matching outfits? they are SO CUTE!
I’m totally gonna try Amanda’s version, I can’t Dutch/French braid to save my life 😭
Such a life hack!! 😍
I tried both... I must be really bad at braiding or maybe my hair is too short. I got crazy hair
@@pinkradioheadtv maybe practice? D:
When I braid my hair, it literally takes days to dry.
Let it naturally air dry for just a bit - then braid.
Same for me, it’s infuriating, and if I wait till my hair is half-dry to braid it I get weird texture near the roots and too much frizz/fluff
Even if I let my hair down it takes me a full day to dry it
I don't wet my hair at all if I do something like this. I apply a bit of product and the heat from my head locks in the style.
Right? I can only take out my braids on the second day, even in the summer heat!
Thank u for sharing this with us 😍😍 it means so much I’m so happy this routine worked well for u!!
Manes by Mell 💖 the braidout was amazing too!! 🥵🥰
Yes! I try the Cantu curling cream as the base for semi color since it’s was all I had.-dint know if that’s wrong but it helps my 2 a pattern look better.
I JUST LEARNED TO FRENCH BRAID FROM THIS VIDEO!
Amazing! I have literally been attempting this hairstyle and failing horribly for weeks. I really needed this in my life and that hack is so good. Thank you🙌🏽👏🏾
Yeah 1.5 inches from the roots is flat, and I did this yesterday before I saw this video. I'll have to try this version in 4 days 😊
Mel's braids looked better but Amanda's results omg Gorgeous !
Omg thank goodness, finally another hair stylist who braid from both sides on one braid with wet hair 🥰❤️👍💯 glad I'm not the only one 6:49
How do you get curly roots??? My roots are so flat then they start curling from the mid range to the ends. I have 3a/b hair and I’m still in transition
Wavy hair...
Maybe layers? Depends on your curl type
do you style w denman brush like mell showed in many of her videos( they dont ship those in my country so i use tangle teezer), that helped my WAVY hair, and also highlights made it pop out more
saaameee, i have super thick and heavy 2b-3a hair, and it does this when i don’t have layers! i don’t have them right now so my hair is wavy and flat at the top and curls halfway down
@Gal Pal Do you remember what the video was called?
The way mell braided the hair was fascinating i could never!loved the result! For sure will try this
Amanda’s hair is straight goals
I’ve never been able to braid hair and the easy method you did for Amanda blew my mind. 🤯Thank you for sharing! I might try this.
You two are awesome! You need a tv show. Thanks for sharing your curly girl hair tips.
I needed this yesterday for my outdoor adventure. Thank you for sharing this info with us.
Same.
Omg! You just cleared things up for me!
I love the outtakes at the end as much as I love the main videos!
love this! I need to make this my routine. because I hardly have time to diffuse and endup air drying and wearing my hair in a bun
Mell: "Amanda you're my little girl today, you're my little cutie, you're so small"
Amanda: *exasperated eye roll that literally anyone with a sister has perfected*
I feel you Amanda :p
Good Lord Mell and her finger coordination is out of this world! I can’t even begin to understand how she moves that way!
I was the French braiding queen in high school (way) back in the day. Alas - I'm too old for braids now (at least in public). You ladies rock those braids!!
I love your personality, Mel. I get educated on how to care for my hair and enjoy the videos at the same time :)
I *just* got out of the shower and if this is really a noob level I might braid along!
This was SO NICE! I have belly button length hair and doing anything more than leaving it down was a hassle. This was so easy and I was able to get something done with my hair! SUPER HAPPY!
Another way that I like to make it easier is by starting with a flat twist then finish in a normal braid
Ohh, that sounds interesting. I think I’ll try either this or Amanda’s version this hair wash
I love how you guys always match! Those tops are so cute!
Love all your videos! I don't braid my hair anymore but have to watch all your videos just to make me smile! Keep up the good work!
Why did I not see this sooner?? I struggled for so long to do this and boom! Half braid look a like.
I love your videos these videos helped me and my sister how to deal with our curly hair because we didn’t know what to do with it so thx
i have very fine straight hair but I love watching your videos about curly hair, its so interesting lol

Oh boy you're gonna have to come over and do those braids for me, lol! I need easy peasy! I love the results!❤
I needed this SO BADLY. Your teaching Amanda videos are my favorite 🤓
I liked the video before watching because your videos are never bad💖💙
i hope not haha thanks for the love ❤️❤️
This video is a GAME CHANGER for me. Seriously. Just like Amanda, that ish goes waaaay over my head! You made the second one look so simple. I can’t wait to try it on myself & on my daughter when she’s a liiiittle older and will sit still long enough for me to do her hair like that 😅😍 btw Amanda, your head really isn’t big at all!! Don’t be self conscious about it!
My hair is so voluminous that's why I always do braid outs and it really helps and I always get different results depending on how many braids I did
Yes!! So customizable 😍😍
I just tried the modified version on my daughter and it turned out sure cute! Thanks for sharing this.
SWEET hack on Amanda's hair! Thanks!
It's nice to know that Amanda's hair is like mine before styling it :) that proves that I can achieve those LUSCIOUS curls.
It’s Texture Tuesday!!!
Please make a video on balance and how often products should be mixed up or switched out. Thanks! You always rock!!!
I use maui moisture too and i love their line. The smoothie is my fav❤️
I agree with your sister, i can braid other people's hair better than my own. Even simple braids i struggle.
Wait.. the matching dresses tho' 😂😂😂 Super cute❤
I am watching your videos from 7 days , reached here and soon complete watching all your videos । Keep going girl
Fran🦋
I love videos of the SEESTERSS together 💛
Yay, the "dutch" braid! I've found it's the easiest for me to do on my own hair. I haven't braided my hair yet since getting my curls/waves really started & was thinking I'm far enough in my journey to be able to without major issues so this is perfectly timed! Thanks seesters!!!
Mell! I would absolutely LOVE if you would do a video on tips for getting your hair cut by a stylist who isn’t used to curly hair!! Or what to ask for at the hair salon because I feel like they always get it wrong 😣
I have lefthand paralysis and really appreciate the modified version, thank you ❤
I just enjoy your personalities so much, and the way you make learning about hair so much fun!
I love how your sister looks at you when you talk... she actually is learning through you... that’s sweet 🙂

Thank you for this video I have 3c 4a hair and this helps so much!
i loveeee your videos the way you explain and show everything makes it so easy to follow!
You girls are ADORABLE!!! I have super curly hair. My 2 teenage daughters have long wavy hair. I should tell them to do double braids for a SEESTER STYLE summer photo! 🤩🤩 Also- The people who have this a thumbs down are ridiculous. 🙄
I love that I have an internal question about hair and a tgit video comes out answering the question. This is the second time you've done this!
We’re in SYNC! 😝💖💖
Love it!
I’d also live to see a top 10 and top 5 products I could not live without video!
I don’t have curly hair but I like doing Dutch braids for the nice curls it gives me
I love yall! I see what you're doing and it looks easy there. But whenever I try it on myself, it seems like it's not the same thing haha
Cute!! Your modified braid hack is GENIUS, and yet so simple..... Sooo, how come I never thought of it?
Oh, right! I don't have any patience or coordination either. 😋
I watched the "profesh" braid 3 times (once at .75X speed, ok!) and I STILL got lost!
I have the Maui curl quench coconut oil hair smoothie I love it
Your dresses are so cute and summery!
Thank you so much for yet another wonderful video! I've been trying to think of ways to style my hair when I take my art club kids on our trip at the end of the school year without bringing a giant bag of products! LOL! This will be perfect!
The prettiest seesters🥺
Love the braids and love the seesters!
Stunning hair as always
I learned how to French braid on my horses tail!
I don't have curly hair, Still I love watching your videos... 😘😘 Love from India 🇮🇳 ❤❤
This video made me smile and laugh so much! I needed that today. I don't know if I can braid my own hair, but I may give it a try.
Oh My God!! I just love you two. I'm obsessed with yall's videos. And they have help me so much. I have Amanda's hair but with more porosity and very dried cause of bleach and other chemicals.
