listening to those results, my mind already went back in time where I was playing RPGs on the Playstation and there mystic sounding areas, this is incredible!
Got some gems. Watching the samples progress as you were editing and adding FX was fantastic! And the velocity to volume tip in Kontakt was great! Thank you, Andrew! 🙌🏻
Incredible what you were able to get out of that little toy xylophone. I actually didn't even realize they had a tool to make your own custom patches in Kontakt. Definitely gonna be playing around with that now!
Cool, thank you! )) Stretching samples became a revelation for you, though I am dreaming about creating an instrument with lots of dynamics and especially RRs)
Very nice and easy, You are wonderful, I would appreciate it if you could please explain the similar ones of this series step by step from A to Z. Also, it would be great if you could make the Contact Front Screen Theme and script connections with examples. How do we check malfunction, that is, coma sounds? etc.. Thanks
Thanks for the kind words! Yes, the course does explore the whole series of creating a library from start (design) to finish (finalizing the patch.) I'm not currently planning to cover the UI creation or encoding aspect because I feel that those aren't necessary for most people, and it complicates the process - it takes away from the "fast inspiration" and makes it more difficult. But that's not to say I'll never cover it!
This first one will focus more on the core planning, preproduction, recording, editing, mapping, and sound design - which you don't need a UI for. UI/scripting will likely be a separate thing, if enough people want it!
Man. This is awesome. And definitely learned more on the velocity part which is where I was lost. Question. This is great for bells. But if you want to sample an acoustic instrument like a piano. How would start? Meaning what’s velocity. And could you stretch it like he did with the Xylophone and then readjust the velocities there. Or would I have to literally sample every note and layers of velocities thereof?
The MORE you directly sample, the better. The LESS you use the artifical processing like stretching, pitching etc, the better. When using pitching/stretching, You can make few half/full notes up and down, but better to record them directly as the algorithms cannot make miralces. But we are talking acoustic instruments there.
This is a topic I'll be exploring in much greater detail in the course mentioned in the video description :D In short, it does depend on the instrument. Some things stretch better than others. Human voice for example will sound bad unless sampled chromatically; on the other hand, stretching a guitar by a semitone is OK. Having 6+ dynamics for a guitar is excessive, but having 6+ for drums/percussion is pretty important.
I am looking for a resource that explains how to make a graphic instrument interface for the mbira (a plucked instrument). Do you know of any resources for this? Thanks.
thank you very much! can you use this method to create a VPO by loading up organ pipe sample notes, for multiple stops, and then playing several patches like this in a multi?
Tried to do pitch bending for a string instrument sound. It does NOT sound realistic at all in Kontakt. You think decent sampler a better choice for realistic pitch bending that can be played with MPE player like Linnstrument?
@@IsHeHigh I have no problem with making scripts, but I don't understand editing a loop in Kontakt for example. 😅 For me, the biggest competitor is the one who makes scripts. Not the one who edits sounds. 😅
@@RorenMovies I do feel like most of the scripts these days are just keyswitching and UI stuff, but I totally get you. Finding good loop points can be a real pain.
I'm not currently planning on covering that, since that is more in the territory of how to release a commercial sample library. It's a different focus - I think most people who make libraries for their own personal use wouldn't be interested in commercializing them... but I could be wrong!
@@ImpactSoundworksLLC Please when possible, make a tutorial for making a commercial sample library as there is none on the internet and I believe people will be interested in investing in this "commercialize sample" course thank you!
@@echyThis is actually not something that can be done because you sign a contract with Native Instruments for producing a Player library, this involves using NKS SDK which is closed source and cannot be shared publicly. At any rate when you sign that contract, NI supplies you with all the documentation that you need, really, and are always there to communicate with you if you're stuck.
Although you do need full Kontakt for the type of thing I showed onscreen, in the linked course we're launching next month, I'll also show how you can do some mapping, envelope, and patch design using freeware such as Polyphone and Sforzando.

That's a wonderful thing to say, thank you 🙏
Cool. Bought your course. Can't wait to start!
Hope you enjoy it!
this popping up randomly in my recommendations is a blessing for doing anything with random samples

It's a brilliant piece of sound finally came out from the simple toy
This was really well done and inspiring. Thank you!
Cool! Thank you so much for this tutorial!!! I am interested in creation of my own virtual instruments and selling them.
Very interesting trick!! Thanks.
What interface and mic are you using to record your samples? Are you running the audio through any outboard gear or mixing console? Thank you.
Interesting video! Really liked the glassy pad sound. I don't usually do my own samples, but now I really think that I should.. :)
Thanks for the content!
Cool. I will buy the course. :) How do you export tho?
🙏 Do you mean how to export a patch? In Kontakt, you simply save it as a monolith, and you're done!
... there is no "cheap" or "bad" instrument or sound. Take this thing and try to compose something "Wintergatan-like" 🙂
Agreed!

I work similarly! Good stuff.
I'm looking forward to more!

This is beautifully

W1 + Reaper gang too!
BTW you could have used ReaFIR for the denoising as well :P
He started out well in Reaper.. but then went to kontac and FL...
He should have went to Decent sampler and stayed in Reaper....

I think for electric or semi-acoustic guitar it sounds pretty good, but for things like acoustic guitar and human voice, not as much...
Decent Sampler doesn't do any better pitch stretching than Kontakt does.
How many toy libraries do you have?
Do more tutorials for Kontakt please, there is not much about sound editing inside Kontakt.
Perfet content.
That's because the people who know how to do it know that it's easy, and don't want to create competition for themselves.
