WoW! I just happened to stumble across your videos and I'm HOOKED!! I binged watched about A TON of 'em and you definitely got my vote. I'm a single senior (although I don't feel senior) and I live on a houseboat. That being said, space for me is at a premium. I do have a 2 burner counter top electric stove, a microwave oven and a counter top convection oven, all of which I use. What draws me to the air fryer in the size. From watching your videos, and for the amount of time and space they all take up, and the fact I'm only cooking for one, the air fryer is really all I need. I'm so impressed with your knowledge and your simple and easy manor and the way you explain everything, I'm a convert. Love your videos and keep up the GREAT work 👍

"just soak the basket". What about the grease that's left over? I hope you wipe it up first and don't just dump it down your drain. Well, if I was a plumber, maybe I'd hope you did, but it definitely is not good for the drain pipes.

Thank you for this. I tried regular parchment paper at first, then ordered air fryer parchment paper. Maybe I'm lazy, but air frying is a quick way to cook. I couldn't see spending a bunch of time cutting out and hole punching parchment paper. It's just me, so I may not use the air fryer as much as some may. I like the air fryer parchment paper. It soaks up some of the grease and most times it means I just wipe out the air fryer with a paper towel when done. As to the silicone liners, I don't imagine they soak up any grease at all. Waiting for your review on them.

I saw your demonstration test about parchment paper. I am a
On a small budget since I retired. I can buy parchment paper from the dollar tree. O made a template to match my bottom tray. I cut out 30 liners, then took a punch hole maker and went to town folder in fourths the punched holes all over. It lets the grease flow downward the and the air flows all around. Try it you’ll like. Stay safe and enjoy life.

Oddly enough, I learned about the powerwash spray on here, in the “How to clean your air fryer video”. If you run out of powerwash, keep the bottle & google DIY powerwash refills. Turns out it’s just Dawn, alcohol & water.

When you want to refill your Dawn spray soap just buy regular Dawn dish soap and fill the spray bottle 30% with dish soap and the rest with water. Now try spraying. It should look exactly like the foamy spray you expect. That is literally how dawn produces the stuff so by the bottle once , make it yourself because and save a ton of money

CLEAN UP TIP : soak with DAWN - big box store has a BOTTLE BRUSH (under $2) is sturdy with a long handle (no need to get hands wet) - bristles are stiff enough to clean basket but soft enough not to damage - works great! Dear Kathy: thanks for your chicken breast video that advises 3 minutes per side - everywhere else on the internet advises much more time causing them to be over cooked - this was a game changer for me.

I have a Kalorik oven style air fryer with trays. I do not know what type of coating is used on the trays, but cleanup is always quick and easy - even with bbq wings. I soak the vented trays inside the bottom nonvented tray (little water required) for 5 minutes and cleans right out.

Parchment paper is used a lot by e.g. chefs and pastry chefs too, not only bakers. And I thought all people cooking and baking in their homes were familiar with it too. I buy airfryer liners myself, out of laziness, but if I were to make them myself now, I would just skip the holes, in my experience, they don’t make much of a difference! I mean, I use alu foil pans and baking pans all the time to save on cleaning and it works perfectly even if there’s no holes! So… No holes really needed! It’s just a small convection oven and the fan(s) is very capable at moving the hot air around! Looooove my Cosori(s) - got my new upgrade (Dual Blaze) just yesterday! 🤗

I mostly use parchment paper for doughy things like calzones, empanadas and hand pies. Regular parchment paper with a few holes punched in with kitchen scissors. I flip them over after 6 minutes and finish the other side for 4 mins more. They're nicely browned and cleanup is a breeze. Without parchment some dough always sticks to the tray.

  • @fragnet1411

In my opinion, parchment paper is not needed at all. The air fryer baskets are ultra non-stick, so after cooking, a wipe with a paper towel will get most of the drippings, then you just give a quick wash. No matter what you use or not use, you still have to wash the basket. Parchment works best for aluminum sheet pans and baking pans in a regular oven. In those applications, it will minimize your cleanup. Additionally, if you were going to use the parchment from a roll, one would think you'd try to trim it a bit and not just jam the full width in the basket as you did. Cutting to fit and punching a few holes in the roll paper would work fine. Good video!

Thanks for this video. I bought a 9qt air fryer today and debating whether to open the box or return altogether. I did not realize parchment paper was involved. After a couple of videos, I am thinking that my regular oven is all I need and likely will return the air fryer. It was great to watch your taste testers! The young lad kept taking a bit and putting the rest back in the platter, lol. That was funny.

I've never used any type of liners into my airfryer. I usually soaked the inside of the basket immediately with hot soapy water after using and within a few seconds, washed and wiped dry; I've never had a problem in many years!
Btw, if I needed perforated parchment liners, I can make them myself; I use that and foil in my regular oven plus a silicone mat.

What about liners without holes and that have some of the paper going up the sides? I am fed up of trying to clean the grate after cooking pork chops or chicken. I have to soak the grate then scrub to get the food off so I was going to try the parchment liners without the holes. Have you used those? TIA

Please do a demo of the silicone mats it's different and I am just curious of what it would look like.

I was just thinking of trying parchment paper too. I have the silicone with holes. Its just as as messy but cooks fine. I was also thinking it keep it from rusting as fast like our first one the family used so much in a year or two was rusted. How can you keep the airfryer from rusting?

My air fryer, a T-fal has a steam, grill and fry capability which is what I wanted. My problem is figuring out the right cooking temperature and timing for the different foods.

    • @patpeters6331
      @patpeters6331 2 года назад +1

I do believe Cathy addressed that in one of her How To videos, I just don't recall which one. The notes I jotted down says to decrease temperature 20-25% and the cooking time by half; adding 5 minute increments as needed. Hope that helps. 🙂

  • @johnstone9612

A test with the silicone mats would be a good idea although I already know the answer. I purchased one for my fryer on a recommendation that it would reduce the wear and tear on my fryer basket, It may well do so but due to the heat non-conductivity of silicon it means more faffing about turning and shaking and in the end I just use my mat on the counter top to put hot pans on.
    PS Love the show.

I use the parchment liner/bowls with sides… I use a metal cooler like you use on the top of the cookies on the bottom of the liner for drippy food. And clean up is a snap!
On cookies, especially sloppy ones I use a punch to make holes on the bottom of the liners . Also the sides .

Just ask your children to fold regular parchment paper in rolls to squares and cut them down,( a cutting board for arts and crafts having a rolling blade works well. Then have the kids use hole punctured to make the holes, it can cut through at least 5-6 layers at the time. Then pay the kids some pocket money.😊 Anyway I do not NOT like the parchment in air fryer anyway. 😊

my way i cut to size the greaseproff paper just smaller than the crisper plate, its cheap you get a lot of it and its a game changer, that way the air still gets to circulte around the edges of the cripser.
no more messy draws just roll up the paper and throw it away and give the basket and tray a quick wash.
you cant be too carefull with a thin non stick coating like all the models have, you would think they would give you an option for a stainless steel crisper but i have looked high and low and i cant find one.
i baught a dual basket one recently and have been exprementing over the weekend.
