So I’m pretty sure Jake was being sarcastic. The “blew my mind” comment is very tounge in cheek. That said clearly they aren’t on set at the same time it’s all over the shoulder shots and notice Quaid and the other guy don’t interact with anybody else, no wides where you can see all the face at the same time.
It doesn't matter what can happen to us... We do not control nature's force... The only thing that really matters is how much we love each other. That's the message from this scene that came to me.

Listen to the music and then you should listen to the scene where kratos pulls the horn from hemidell. It is almost the same music if not the actual theme used for that scene in god of war

Because without those two men going to New york, then the army wouldn't know that there were survivors. So the army wouldn't have gone to New york
