It's not until you see them jamming live that you realise how consummate they are as multi-instrumentalists. On individual songs, Joe Dart stands out as this bass wonder-boy but seeing Theo and Jack glide between instruments with such skill is probably even more impressive.
Theo is an excellent guitarist, drummer and singer fo' sho'. He played with Joey Dosik as support when I saw the vulf live in London last weekend and his drum solo was insane.
I was in a band full of multi instrumentalists. We had a cover song where we all switched, and it absolutely killed every time. Thing is, it was one song we all worked on. Big difference between pulling a song off and what these guys can do. P.S. Saw an interview where Joe said they all play bass just as well.
Agreed. I'm a bass player so Joe Dart is a big draw to this band for me but their ability to trade instruments is super impressive and makes the show even more fun than it would orherwise be. Theo sets himself apart though with that voice and that magnetic stage presence.
I was talking with a friend the other day about music, and how there are those rare times when you hear something so absurdly good that you just start laughing, 19:00 when Theo starts harmonizing with his guitar solo is definitely one of those situations LOL, it's incredible that he can make his voice sound like he is singing into a desk fan L0L Edit: here again 7 months later, it's still just as funny lmao
This is actually a trick I learned once to help me get better at improvising solos, I would try and sing along to the melody as I played it and I found it helps a lot with phrasing and forces you to think about which notes you are playing instead of just mindlessly moving up and down a scale
Would really love to have a few beer with you and have an ultimate Vulfpeck party with you. Greetings from Germany, will see them in Berlin. I love the way you dance.
Thank you university of Michigan Ann Arbor, for helping to facilitate this magnificent, magical powerhouse of mental musical energy! Wowed in Detriot o-0
What a great show! i was there and this board tape only captures the tip of the iceberg of the extremely palpable excitement of the evening. Thanks for uploading this!
I was there. During Dean Town, I was really getting into it and accidentally knocked my glasses into the air. I caught those motherfuckers like a ninja between my elbow and my ear!
I suspect that im not telling many people here anything they dint know but Trey's guitar tone and style is unmistakable. Phone was in my pocket and was passively listening and suddenly it was obvious that he was onstage.
Holy shit this might be the best Beastly solo ever. Theo's stank face by the end is all the evidence you need to know it was FILTHY. Also, "is that a Joe Dart in your back pocket or are you just happy to see me."

The real hero.
you da real mvp
Danny Wood, you're seriously the man. Are you not the selfsame Danny Wood that vulfified all those people's pictures?
"Red Rocks, that's the sound of a wireless Stratocaster in the fourth position..."
And never leaves this position
Some say that if Joe Dart stops grooving the world stops spinning...
That true.....Dave from Italy!

Yeah I'd agree, Theo's a monster at basically everything he touches and Jack is the ideal band leader. Their energy is just out of this world.

@caprice.t yeah, judging musicians by skin color is generally a bad idea....

“We’re gonna keep it in the people’s key for a moment. . . . the Key of C”
Hahahahaha
thats my favorite part

Um, George Benson was doing this his entire career.

19:00 Theo harmonizing the guitar solo with his voice during Rango is always impressive as hell.

It blows my mind every time
personally i like the background dancers in this part
This is actually a trick I learned once to help me get better at improvising solos, I would try and sing along to the melody as I played it and I found it helps a lot with phrasing and forces you to think about which notes you are playing instead of just mindlessly moving up and down a scale

this band is pure analog in this digital world - meant in the best possible way! Love them!
Cory Wong is playing on Fugue State, he's just backstage
Oh my goodness you're right

Most positive comment I've seen on the Tube
That Wait for the Moment Theo scat just puts a massive grin on my face
I think this is one of the best Vulfpeck live performance record. And I think this is one of the best live performances at all.
you know it's good when you smile and shake your head for the whole hour.
30:10 - my favourite type of Cory Wong - Unexpected Cory Wong! :D
I love how at the beginning some people were like, who are these guys? A few songs in and EVERYONE IS MOVING. These dudes are just so damn good.
Man I love these guys, they get me grooving everytime. They seem to have so much fun during the show, it's contagious.
It's impossible not to bump your head to this awesome performance. Simply amazing!

The Vulf coming out to their own character themes is pretty funny.
My mood today was just *grmpf* until this. I love these guys. This unique style is just so good and uplifting! So much fun.

Thank you university of Michigan Ann Arbor, for helping to facilitate this magnificent, magical powerhouse of mental musical energy! Wowed in Detriot o-0
I really like how they slowed down the tempo for Wait for the Moment. Antwaun is really an insane vocal improviser.
What a great show! i was there and this board tape only captures the tip of the iceberg of the extremely palpable excitement of the evening. Thanks for uploading this!

Thanks for posting this! I went to this show and missed the first 4 songs.
I'm quickly becoming a big fan of these guys. Superb
That Joe Dart Fender Bass Solo on Wait For The Moment was more than your disk could handle. I don't blame it.
I was there. During Dean Town, I was really getting into it and accidentally knocked my glasses into the air. I caught those motherfuckers like a ninja between my elbow and my ear!
I just did a legit spit take reading this. Well played, sir. Well played.
Theo brought red socks to the Red Rocks. I love this band so much.
Throwback to best funk show I've ever seen
I suspect that im not telling many people here anything they dint know but Trey's guitar tone and style is unmistakable. Phone was in my pocket and was passively listening and suddenly it was obvious that he was onstage.
That drum fill at 29:30 is absolute money.

Wait for the moment is so sick,Antwuan kills it!
Theo's vocal range is insane!
Damn Theo can play anything he wants lmao
Such quality performance, toight and rehearsed. Reminds me of how Queen did it, not a single bleep.
I was having a shit day until I saw the dance lesson and suddenly everything is awesome.
19:05 nuff said... I laughed so hard and just watching Theo’s band mates killing themselves laughing !
That snare is sick! Sounds awesome. 👏

Holy shit this might be the best Beastly solo ever. Theo's stank face by the end is all the evidence you need to know it was FILTHY.
Also, "is that a Joe Dart in your back pocket or are you just happy to see me."
What an amazing venue. Only the vulf could do it justice.
this is probably my favourite version of el chepe i've seen so far
Thanks so much for posting!
34:26 Optimize your disk! I panicked for a moment; thought it was my brand new computer out of disk space :)

Patient: I'm Depressed
Doctor: I prescribe you daily dose of Antwaun Stanley, you should feel better within seconds
wow!! really enjoying this
dam i came here to check this out real fast but now i have to stay for the whole thing. #firstworldproblem
Watching Trey, he really shapes his playing with the volume knob, and sometimes the tone.
these funky ducks jam.
I saw these guys in Toronto but the venue didn't have nearly as many tarps.
Antwaun is awesome in this session
CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS SEPTEMBER,,,, LIVE... MY LIFE WILL BE COMPLETE
UGH WHY DOES DEAN TOWN HAVE TO END LIKE THAT :(((((((
I'M SORRY! My computer literally ran out of space and stopped recording.
