How BROKEN is Forza Horizon 2 on the Xbox 360?

- Today I decided to check out the port that most don't like for Forza Horizon 2 , the Xbox 360 version which I played using the Xenia Canary emulator! Let's see what it has to offer

If you look at games like NFS Most Wanted from 2012, it is safe to say that they intentionally downgraded the graphics and sounds on the X360 version. The console could definetly cope with more.
I dont think it was intentional, but it was capable of more. The issue is that Horizon 2 360 use the same engine as Forza Motorsport 4, which is a game that is intended for track racing. Track racing have the advantage of being very good by design to abuse culling, which many times can't be done on a open world game. The actual car models are good and match FM4 ones, which make me think that the modelling budget (I am not saying about money, model budget means the amount of textures and polygons it is allowed for any element of a game, for example, cars on Forza Motorsport 3 have around 45000 polygons) of the engine is way higher on cars than the scenery.
Horizon 1 was a bit clever being made with the limitations of the engine in mind, with a lot of roads stitched together and not a lot of open scenery. H2 on the other hand, is made with Forzatech in mind, so to make Italy/France work on FM4 they had to make a very simplified model of the scenery. They could had remade car models so it would take less polygons but I think they just wanted to copy and paste the cars that already existed and just focus on adapting the new stuff.
Even NFS Rivals looks good on a xbox 360
@@lazymonster2784 cuz rivals was meant to be played on xbox 360 and ps3. That means they build it from the ground up specifically for those consoles and then just bumped up more graphical details onto next gen consoles.

This was the version I played as a kid and after I found out about the Xbox one version I realized how broken it was
Man I played this game on an original X360 back in the day in a Cyber cafe lol. Safe to say I was shocked at how bad it looked in comparison to FH1 lol
as a fh2 xbox 360 player, i don't remember it being that bad and the ai wasn't that bad for me it was completely normal for me. Maybe that emulator has to do something with it

@@Shockload due to the limits of the hardware of the Xbox 360 E (in my case) of course the game couldn't look as good as the Xbox One version, since that's what they were focusing on more, not the 360 version, so therefor the game wasn't optimized properly. There were a few bugs when at the festival you'd fall out of the map, and sometimes the game crashing at the end of a race, but i didn't have the issues that are in this video, other bugs are simply because of the emulator.
@@mystic4l "due to limits of Xbox360" and "not optimized properly" are 2 different things, people were shitting on FH2's x360 because of how bad it looks COMPARED to FH1
If you told me FH1 was actually released on Xbox One and FH2's 360 was actually some super optimized classic Xbox game from 2006, I would've totally believed you, because it literally doesn't look that much better than xbox's Project Gotham Series

The only problem i had with Horizon 2 on the 360 was that the top 2 drivers in a race were always way ahead of the rest of the field and that it was a bit of a struggle to catch up to them

When I decided to buy all of the Horizon games after loving and enjoying 4, I got the 360 version of H2 because from the small research I did, people said it was fine(it is not). I played it for maybe 30 minutes to test that it worked and didn't have any issues but because I needed a XBONE for H3, I also bought H2 again for it. Wow it's certainly something. Part of me wants to play it again for this experience but a larger part of me doesn't. Especially since I won't get to listen to Hospital Records.

i had fun, some crashes, some unloaded textures, infinite loading
it had the same damage model as h1, which h2 for one doesn't, because it's on another engine
I still play forza horizon 2 on the XBOX 360, it feels so plain and lonely now…

Great game, despite its flaws.
Onenof the Bucket list events, which involves a Lancer, was notorious difficult to beat, since the car is too slow to drift, and I had to get 20K to beat the challenge.
Other than the game running the first game's engine, it was decent.
Loving the RUclips videos since I can't catch you on the streams! keep them up they are great.
The countdown is the only thing I loved about the 360 port

I think there was 1 or 2 bucket list challenges that were almost impossible if not completely impossible. Seems like there was no game testing

I have a physical copy of this game, and i remember those “invisibumps”. And the fact it make my 360 scream in agony everytime i played it
Never owned a 360, but i did play it in a friend's house back in 2016, that was my only experience, and i will say that it was a very good experience, i loved the handling physics, the vibes of the festivals, the late night drives, and the roster of cars, i never actually noticed it looked so empty lol but this video still doesn't change my mind though, i do believe it's an amazing game.
All these issues didn't stop little me from spending everyday on this game
I was like: " Why does this look worse than Horizon1" ? As a PC- gamer I think Horizon1 runs great on Xenia emulator and I wont waste tme with janky H2, feels great to play that nostalgia trip for the first time since ive never owned any console and I can see why back in the day it was a pretty big talk :) Horizon1 is much more basic game than H4 or H5 BUT it has very good core elements, great atmosphere and stays with its basics. And the technical limitations back then meant that you couldnt fly your 1mill hypercar cross- country through bushes, trees and walls :)
You can compare this to vanilla Undercover just to compare how broken they are

Idk why your Forza horizon 2 on Xbox 360 is so weird but I don't have any problems with it at all and there are hidden functions like lunch control and even roof opening

Fun fact: if you try to change you car at the airport, it freezes not just the game, but the entire console
For me there was about a 50/50 chance that whenever I tried to switch car the game would crash no matter where I was. I always had to go back to the festival to make sure the game doesn’t crash
@@Akotski-ys9rr yeah I was at a buddies house, and I played it on his old 360, and every time I tried changing car at the airport the entire console would crash, everywhere else was like a 1/4 chance it would crash.
@@nateye2450 maybe the chance of it crashing depended on how new your 360 was. I think on the newer 360s they made they increased the performance slightly. I think I had one of the newest 360s before they stopped making them
Microsoft should give the xbox one version with smart delivery if you have the 360 disc and put it in a xbox series x

This is the true definition of "we had Horizon 2 at home" 😂.
To this day, this X360 Horizon 2 is the only version of Horizon 2 that I ever played, because I didn't have an Xbox One console. The first time I played it I thought the 360 version has the same beauty of the graphics and visuals as the Xbox One version, but oh boy it's really underwhelming. The gameplay is a mess and the driving physics is really wonky considering the 360 version used the FH1 engine and it's noticeable from the offroad physics and the grip handling, and true tho as you said the map is empty and low quality because of the hardware limitation but probably the devs are too lazy to make the world feel more alive like FH1 does.
The funny thing is because FH2 on 360 runs on the same engine as FH1, both of the game files are actually identical and you can add or enable FH1 Traffic cars and other hidden cars by modding the content of the game files, I'm not sure about the Fast And Furious DLC cars, because the Fast And Furious FH2 DLC on 360 version is a separate game.

I remember when FH2 was announced and i really wanted it but at the time i only had the 360 so i was forced to get it thinking it was going to be the same as the xbox one version and man was i disappointed and disgusted lol. Like its crazy that FH1 is a million times better somehow than fh2 on 360 like how. also for some reason FH2 on xbox 360 is currently $30-40 CAD used now wtf.
I have this same version, even Test Drive Unlimited 2 looks better than this, it even had rain!
It actually wasn't a backwards-compatible version. Microsoft focused the game on the Xbox One. Since they had spare money or some other reason, they got a company called Sumo Digital on the 360 version. They didn't do a good job of it. And since the X360 isn't too powerful, the graphics and the game aren't as good and plus, the game is 8GB while a huge 40GB on the Xbox One. Sadly for now, Forza fans won't be able to play Forza Horizon 2 on PC till the Xbox One has a game dumped, all we get it the unfinished 360 version.

These times you need to learn how to drive in games i can drift easly in forza 2 x360 but cant in forza 4-5

I used the handbrake and chained drift tactics.
having played both versions, neither game has amazing handling when compared to fh3 or 4.

I like to consider this to be the worst Forza title we’ve ever gotten, since it’s just FH1 but worse in every way possible. The only thing it has on the other games is a cosmetic damage system that’s still somewhat borked.

Well, doesn't look as broken as my experience with MW2012. I actually snap the disc in frustration over how broken it was... then I made the stupid decision to buy it again and had the same experience.
