When I took out the filter you show here it was clogged with paper, it looks like paper from some broken filter. I check the maintenance manual and it doesn't say anything about another filter. Could you tell me if it has another filter? and where? thank you so much
Hi, any idea where I can buy one of these filters please as my son has a 1952 fordson major and he was advised to do this filter to then find when he’d removed it, that it had splits and was also miss shaped. Many thanks in advance
Unfortunately I have not been able to find anywhere yet that does reproductions of this filter, and I've searched UK, US and Aus suppliers. Best bet is try some wreckers or see if a local shop can make a copy.

There is no other filter in the rear housing, I would think the paper has come from somewhere else.

where did you buy the new filter?
I haven't been able to find anywhere that produces a new filter. Maybe try some local tractor wreckers.
Found a pin approx 2 1/2" long x 3/8" in the hydraulic sump. Taken cover off hydraulic but cant see where it connects. FORDSON MAJOR DIESEL.
I have the same tractor as the hydraulic oil to use?

Interesting they painted in there, and it's withstood the hydraulic fluid.
Hi, great video! im a new owner of a fordson super major, is this procedure very different from this model would you say? :D
I don't believe the Super Majors are different, check underneath and if there are 4 bolts like in my video I would say you are good to go.

Is there any other filter in the hydraulic system? Can these mesh units be obtained new?
No other filters on the hydraulics, you can still get them from vintage tractor specialists, mainly in England for the Fordson's.
