  • In this video I guide you through essential watercolour supplies, and provide education surrounding the types of watercolour and how to use it to your advantage. This video is for anyone wanting to develop their understanding and practice of watercolour - whether you're a beginner creative, or an established artist who hasn't dabbled in this magical medium.
In the video we work together off a reference photo taken from Pinterest, of a beautiful autumn leaf: www.pinterest....
Watercolour is renowned for being difficult to control, but with the right tips and tricks you'll be on your way to feeling confident!
For how to stretch watercolour paper, there is an array of wonderful videos out here, however I personally recommend this one:

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or other feedback - I would also love to see your finished pieces! if you have any other suggestions for what you would like to see on my channel, then please do let me know. I'm keeping a little list of each request that you all make.

I sincerely hope that this little video helps you develop a basic understanding of this wonderful (and my favourite) medium. You can re-watch it as many times as you like as you work through the techniques that we learn.
    Lots of love,

Now in my 50s and just bought my first palette of watercolours since last using them at school. Thank-you for this lovely video - this will be the first exercise I attempt with my new paints! Can I ask which type of pencil lead you recommended for the undersketching please? Is it just standard HB 0.5 m or should we use something wider and softer with watercolour? 🎨 😊

Hi! Well done for starting a new creative hobby! So glad that this video was helpful to you 🤍
In regard to what kind of graphite lead to use - it’s quite personal, but the ‘harder’ it is the more damage it will do to the paper and it will be harder to erase. I tend to use HB or 2B in 0.5 as my go-to and don’t run into many problems 🙏🕺
