I did a heroic dose of psilocybin yesterday (5+g but apparently it was really strong and very blue). It was the best and worst experience of my life. It started off super hallucinogenic with loads of dynamic visuals and I could see how the stuff would be awesome at a party or festival. I then started feeling quite sensual. Then I could literally feel my brain fill with happiness. This grew and grew until I was weeping from pure unfettered happiness and gratitude. I had a sense that I could die that way and be entirely fulfilled. I then lifted up and was no longer in my body. I had a sense I could go further up and 'travel'. My partner was outside and I wanted connection with him, and it felt better and easier to get to him by going up and travel to his 'energy' than to get up and find him physically. At one point he did come to sit next to me. We got into a laughing fit. I remember saying 'this is so weird, I don't know what's real anymore.' I kept wanting to go back into the 'dream' and couldn't 'wake up'. Like coming out of an anesthetic. At one point I said 'I 'm struggling to come back'. He maybe should have left me to carry on as I had been, but he came to get me and made me go outside. At this point I thought I was supposed to be 'back'. So instead of enjoying it I was trying to 'wake up' but was so disoriented and kept spinning off into 'dreams'. But then I'd 'wake up' and find I was still sitting up in an almost catatonic way. And then I didn't know what was real anymore. I got into a loop where I could see the world around me, but kept waking up over and over. Each time I woke up I thought 'Ok this is real, I'm back' and then I'd spin off again. I started to get a little scared. My mind took hold and I started feeling locked in. I was convinced I was in a psychotic break (maybe I was??) And didn't know if I'd ever come back. It was like I was stuck inside myself and couldn't perceive reality. I became paranoid and was trying to anchor myself, but I couldn't believe or trust anything. At one point our trip sitter said I was fine and could relax and that we still had at least an hour to go. This gave me a bit of relief, but then I didn't believe him and thought he was trying to trick me. I eventually got myself to my bed. After just standing in my bedroom not knowing what was going on. At this point I was in a repeating loop of stuck ness. I saw our balcony and clearly thought 'oh this is why people jump' I could imagine wanting or needing to do that if I was stuck in that loop forever. But I got into my bed and tried to go to sleep, hoping that I'd wake up ok. But the stuck loop just carried on, and on and on. I was terrified the rest of my family would come home because I just didn't know how to be me anymore or to relate to anyone. After about 2 hours in bed my partner came up and put his hand on my shoulder. I looked him in the eye and said 'HI' and for the first time felt like that was real and I was actually HERE. I was still woozy and struggled to speak but was so grateful to be back!!! I don't know what happened there but I literally thought I'd lost my mind and was never coming back... It was damn scary and I'm not sure what to make of it yet....

The last time I took psilocybin was in 1980.
On an undisclosed area of the California coast they are everywhere... I took "A Lot" (about a medium sized handfull as I had a medium sized hand at the time) of dried happy fungi, went up to that special place of answers and stood before the Beautiful androgynous being and posed my question (personal) which was answered (simply, concise and, alas, personal).
The Beautiful being told me it was time to go back down and I would not be able to come back for an indefinite length of time. I instantly found myself on the blanket at the seashore where I was at the start of the trip and completely "unstoned", checked my watch and it had been about 20 minutes.
It was 13 years before I went back up, I didn't have to take any psychedelics to go there.
Neither do I have to take anything more to alter my mind. Just find a quiet spot, calm my mind with deep breathing, relax and choose a direction.
Let the mind go and the body will follow.

In case you want to know how a trip on shrooms is:
Most of you guys probably know these typical scenes from cartoons where you start to see shapes and a kaleidoscope of colors in front of you.
When I tried them in Amsterdam that was basically _exactly_ what I felt. They taste less like your typical mushrooms and more like moist cashew nuts, very dry an a bit bitter in their flavor. After about 30 minutes you start to see color patterns on the walls and before you know it you will start experiencing things, seeing colorful images that change every couple of seconds. After about 3-4 hours the effect slowly subsides without a hangover.
For the whole duration of the high, you will just hallucinate but be completely lucid, you will be able to think clearly, basically not have any mood changes. That can happen if you have a bad trip though, which comes if you worry about too many things and are not generally in a great mental state. Then you should refrain from using them.
You can also pretty much never OD on these mushrooms since a regular consumption dose is a few milligrams at best. Compare that to the 4 gram lethal dose of Psilocybin and you will realize they are all but harmless. There is also very little chance of getting addicted since the next high you want to get from them will require an exponentially higher amount to reach the same state, meaning after only a couple of uses it takes a big dose to even feel anything anymore at all. Needless to say they don't have the same addiction potential as other drugs to begin with.
These have been used for centuries as traditional medicines to give people life changing experiences while they are all but harmless in all ways you look at them. If you are ever in Amsterdam, don't be afraid to try it.

Mushrooms and psychadelics open the consciousness to the embedded nervous system. All the unconscious archerypes become active and connected. This creates the psychadelic effects in perception.
People realise the archetypes are channels, information streams from deep being once they process the trip.

How are we going to take it? Should I wash it first or should I boil it so that the bacteria will die or I just eat it right away after I pick it? Furthermore, for first timers to try the magic mushroom, how many pieces of it is enough? Should I weigh it? How many grams is enough?

The other risk with psychedelics, especially if taken with other drugs or in unsafe spaces, is intentional or unintentional self harm from freaking out during a bad trip. In my area, a young man was shot by a cop during a wellness call because he was freaking out on mushrooms and other drugs, and the cop mistakenly believed he was threatening another person (he was alone) and then the officer.
They really need to move psilocybin to a lower schedule since it shows incredible promise for people with severe, treatment resistant PTSD and/or depression when combined with specialized therapy. When they’re taken in a safe place, the patient doesn’t have to worry about getting shot by police or running into hazardous situations during a bad trip or psychotic episode. Considering how many veterans die by suicide in the US, it’s disgusting that a potentially lifesaving treatment is not widely available to them and others suffering from stubborn mental disorders.

Whether it's of death, of losing control, failure. It appears to work well with depression, ocd, anxiety. Perhaps those are manifestations of the same thing?
More research is needed, this is not something with an easy answer.

The Liberty Caps were the opposite. More friendly making me laugh. I was outside on them with friends and our surroundings was echoing.

I'm currently seeking ketamine treatment in Wisconsin, but the "wellness" clinic is nervous about treating someone on chemo. I got them in touch with an oncological pharmacist who says there are no adverse drug interactions. It's a lot of hoops to jump through that I didn't expect, and I presume if shrooms are ever approved here in WI it'll be the same. We can't even get medical marijuana in WI. It's frustratingly stupid.

I ate four grams of mushrooms on an empty stomach yesterday going into it I knew I wasn’t in the best head space. (Problems with my girlfriend) also it was Mother’s Day and my mom passed four years ago.. basically I was asking for trouble. At my peak I was shown this huge room with very very dark energy & these jester beings dancing in front of me. It became worst and worst I’m balling at this point until I was revealed what I had to do to be set free. Once I made my decision to tell the truth about my issues all the scary figures were flipping me off because they knew I chose good. I flipped them back off. Called my gf spilled my heart out and was set free. She told me this is the best gift you could have given your mother. I balled and balled but a good cry the rest of the trip was beautiful and pure.

Mushrooms are not the same form of life as plants are.
So their psychotic effects are different.
Hallucinations are a common point though, with for example : Ayahuasca, Datura and Salvia divinorum... The big difference is that plants usually need a preparation to be effective, when you can absorb fresh psylos to be under their influence...

There is a different substance in the gills of P. cubensis. When smoked, it provides a beautiful high that's not quite hallucinogenic, not quite amphetamine, kinda like & not at all like weed when smoked alone. Its high is somewhat stronger than weed, but doesn't last more than a couple of hours. Then eat the caps & stems.
Information came from a hippie that was at Woodstock. I'm not that old.
