Recording from the Performances live at Hammersmith Odeon London (31/12/81 - 2/1/82), with Dio performing some of the "Ozzy Years" Sabbath-songs.

I still prefer the original version, but the way Dio says "MY NAME IS LUCIFER, PLEASE TAKE MY HAND!" is f*cking awesome.

That bass guitar playing by Geezer Butler might not have been hard, but it was epic. I could listen to that all day on an endless loop with no words.

Dio imo was the most metal singer that ever lived.
Dio had a specific singing style that not many if at all seen from the 80s till now, that singing is and always was clasic rock

@@mickblack2800 Martin was good. Headless Cross and TYR are probably their best stuff with him. I personally love Born Again and Forbidden as well! I just feel Sabbath was needing a break and Tony Lommi was even trying to do something different with Seventh Star but since he was still on contract he had to label his solo album as a Black Sabbath album, If I recall correctly.

From my point of view every times Dio sing someone'else song, it becomes a DIO song: this means the song gains DIO's magic but loses a lot of the original band's

What a feeling and tightness especially on drums, that's because Vinny is a rock drummer and bill has a jazzy background but he's awesome as well.
Vinnie has no fucking groove, he is a robotic drummer. Ward is brilliant!

Both singers were and are(butdio R.I.P) great....just be lucky that we we're alive to hear and see and enjoy all those 80s that we we're there.....see them both many times....so....I'm glad that we and I still alive to enjoy even today concerts.....megadeth still kicking ass....slayer....anthrax...testament...
DIO could have sung any other song and it would have sounded great. So sad that he had to pass so early.

Besides the seamless flowing singing the rhythm section is tighter than a duck's ass. Geezer trotting to the tight and frantic pace on drumming is quite remarkable for a live recording. Great sound from four musicians on their A game

Dios delivery on lyrics is so much better than ozzy, Dio has a very unique style very similar to Robert Plant and very blues inspired. Ozzy has his own style that cannot really be compared to Dio as they are completely different. Both share 1 thing for sure, they fuckin rock. \m/

That song is supposed to.have a metronome effect not be a theatrical.production showcasing the singer's voice.
This song, and all the original Black Sabbath songs, isn't meant to be sung with all the theatrical vocal embellishments that Dio uses - they're supposed to be dark and moody and sombre, hence the name - Black Sabbath.

British Nerd Ozzy did write his vocal melodies, while Geezer wrote the lyrics. However, in cases like this song and Iron Man, it’s unfair to really credit Ozzy with melody work.

He came up with melodies for songs & so he should have since he is a 'singer' the man couldn't sit still for more than 2 seconds, let alone write introspective & classic Sabbath tunes all day...DIO may have written 1 or 2 songs with a dragon mentioned & 1 album

Es lógico porque el maestro Iommi y Ozzy se complementaban muy bien, es como si a Chino Moreno lo pusieran a cantar en SOAD (lo ha hecho y da el mismo resultado que no es malo, pero las canciones fueron hechas para la voz de Serj Tankian) lo mismo con Neil Turbin y Joey Belladonna (ex y actual vocalista de Anthrax) eso no quita que Dio sea mejor cantante que Ozzy y Ozzy sea mejor personaje que Dio, pero esa es otra historia...
