By 'secretly looking', I mean that either they are looking at each other secretly in public or one of them is looking at the other secretly. Either way, my eyeballs hurt from watching them stare at each other but I don't want to blink cause it's too cute.

for sure! the representation of acne and skin texture, not always looking flawless is just one more one thing to love about young royals
@@Mary-qm4ep I was very surprised when I saw it, but I felt so happy and represented. It was just so refreshing to see teenagers going through skin stuff and not only have spotless smooth skin
The gum chewing thing is so interesting because I knew it was a coping mechanism for anxiety- I use it too, it especially helps with biting nails/skin around nails, which we know Willem does. But on rewatch I noticed how OFTEN he is doing it. As early as the party in ep 1 and it continues throughout. It’s not only a cool little nod to his character’s struggles, but like…you never see people chew gum in tv and movies ever. It’s kinda wild.
I think a big reason you don’t see people chewing gum in tv/film is because without proper context, directors often think it looks unprofessional (I do a lot of acting/musical theatre stuff and this is usually why in my experience)
What I’ve also noticed is that he doesn’t do this around Simon when they are alone

This is officially the best show netflix ever made, its relatable with mental ilnesses (anxiety etc) it shows love isnt that easy and sometimes really takes effort, the skin of the actors is not plastic but realistic to irl. Overall 100/10
AND THEY COMMUNICATE AND SET HEALTHY BOUNDARIES
This made me realize how it was Wilhelm who wanted this from the first second he saw Simon. Interesting as he isn't "like that" lol. That boy has been "like that" since the first moment he saw Simon. I know Simon likes him back but Wilhelm is the guy who fell first, and by the looks of it, the heardest as he was also the only one to say "I love you".

Especially Wilhelm - I just love that the series makers did not take a stereotype handsum prince charming. Wilhelm looks ordinary yet he has strong auro arnd him n looks royal n attractive..
. I love how fatally he is attracted to Simon n feels helpless about it. I love how he intensely eyes simon, I love how he feels desperate to live a normal teen life... I love tht he is so down to earth n not an elite snob. I think i loved everything about Willie...💜💜🤭🤭🤟

I chew gum because it helps me keep my anxiety under control. When I’m chewing a gum, I don’t chew my nails or lips or pick them…not as much anyway…and it also helps me breathe better…idk.. that’s just me🤷🏻♀️

Omar does a really good job, considering this is his first acting job ever. But I mean, Edvin, now 18, has been acting since the age of 5, and you can defenitly tell he knows what he's doing, on a whole other level.

I mean it's a pretty normal thing to do in school obviously but they usually don't show that in series' ~ for me it gives the scenes a more realistic touch 😌 also it makes Wilhelm look more layed back than the other students there because this is more of a public school behavior

I can appreciate all these glances and stares. I remember when I was in school (and some sports when the secretive nature had to be even more so) it had to be incredibly 'secretive' and to not ever be 'caught looking at another boy'. I just read what Edvin had said that chewing gum helped Wilhelms anxiety..and this also is proof again how real this show comes over. Wilhelm has so much to cope with after his brothers death, coming to terms with being Crown Prince and his feelings for Simon and the confusion about being in love with a boy..he is only 16!! My heart bleeds for him..💔

i’m so in love with this serie, i was moved by the ending and i am excited by a second season, Wilhelm and Simon are great characters.
Omg why did you cut the scene when they were studying, sitting on the table next to each other. Wille couldn't help himself just to look at Simon several times. He tried so hard not to make it obvious for others to see it, but he def. fell so hard for Simon and we know that he thinks Simon is so pretty. He fell for that beauty first, and after that he liked Simon's character (being confident, lovable, freely saying his thoughts, etc)

Just to clarify to you 8:20 you ask why it looks like wilhelm is always chewing something. He is. He's chewing the inside of his cheek. It's a common thing to happen with people with anxiety that try to stop chewing their nails or an object, so they do it to the inside of their cheek. I hope this helps ❤❤❤❤
