    I'm in CT and just started doing my truck with woolwax black. Most paint stores have lids for 5 gallon buckets with a small screw capped spout. Waay faster and less mess than the spoon. A couple clean pieces of scrap steel left in bucket help stirring, just roll back & forth a couple times. Nice video and a great product!

    Being from Texas this amazes me. Its hot and dry here but we don't deal with the rust like you guys do up north. Question- is the rust caused by snow or the salt that's put on the roads. Probably a dumb question but I have been in Texas my whole life

    I just undercoated my Tundra with Woolwax clear. As i was spraying it, i thought to myself... i wonder how my mechanic is going to like working on my truck? It will probably make bolts easier to remove but the mechanic is probably going to be pissed because of how messy it will be.

      I agree, either the mechanic is going to get rust particles falling all over his face and down his shirt, or get a little slimy undercoating on his arms, I would rather deal with the undercoating rather than the rust for sure.

    • @EverythingElliott

      Wash on day 1, usually takes like 30-45 min, let it dry overnight, spraying a car usually takes like 60 min including set up. No real clean up afterward because I spray so many the stuff stays out and I do a big shop cleaning session at the end of the season.

      @@chvydrptop I used the straw color when I first started, I didnt like the way it looked. In my experience when a vehicle is leaking oil from somewhere, you will see it even with the woolwax black as it will wear away the undercoating and be replaced with oil or other fluid.

      They have a slim tube with multi direction spray tip for their aerosol cans. It works great for inaccessible areas. That's what I used for my doors. I went in from the drain holes at the bottom of the door. It's about the same size as the little red straw that comes with most spray cans.

    I didn't see any protective gear and that's none of my business.....but it makes me think there isn't a lot of over-spray. Is that the case ? My garage is pretty small and don't want to rust proof my tool boxes or motorbikes.

    • @EverythingElliott
      @EverythingElliott  3 года назад

      Thanks for watching and glad you found it helpful. If I’m just spraying one car I usually don’t wear any protective gear, however there are days where I’ll spray 8-10 cars and I’ll wear a respirator. I always always wear the same clothes because it’s inevitable that you will bump into some spot that is already sprayed. As far as over spray it’s very minimal. I see it on my floor after a season of spraying (about 75 vehicles) but that cleans up easily with some commercial kitchen floor degreaser and a power washer.

    How does woolwax work with chevy waxed frame. If its wax does it remove the wax coating , could you spray right over the original coating. I have a 2017 silverado with some bare spots of rust and was thinking of just touch up.

    • @EverythingElliott
      @EverythingElliott  11 месяцев назад

      on the newer GM products I spray that have any factory coating left, I spray right over it, but most cases they have none left or just some factory coating left. I take a small paint scraper and scrape all the loose stuff off and go over the entire thing with wool wax. You wont hurt anything by coating the entire underside.

    • @BladePilot24
      @BladePilot24 Год назад

      Woolwax absolutely resists wash off better than Fluid Film. If you thoroughly mix and heat Woolwax it creeps well but IMO not as quickly or readily as Fluid Film. It's thixotropic, so aggressive mixing (like with a drill and stir extension) for a few minutes is key to making it flow well. That being said, if you thin the Woolwax slightly with vegetable oil it creeps equally to Fluid Film, but without the smell.
