Oh it's awful. My father's been in it for years, and his advice to new artists is to self publish. Record companies often have a sneaky way of buying your songs, promising a payoff, and then keeping you working for them to pay what you end up owing on your contract.

One time not long ago, I was feeling low, sitting on a train. To cheer myself up I played out an entire conversation in my head where I explained the background and the whole re-recording story to a friend. It felt just awesome and put a smile on my face :)

I’m 51 years old. I took my daughter to the “Red” tour back in 2012 when she was 11 at the time. Easily one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen a LOT of shows. Still a fan and it’s been been great to hear her new versions of these songs.

I'm not in her demographic at all. I don't have any daughters and my nieces aren't really into her, but the whole re-recording of music as being a director's cut of sorts and of course, sticking it to the industry is so goddamn baller. You have to respect it.

I don't think people get Taylor enough credit. Listening to fans and what they would enjoy seems like an obvious thing but goddamn it does not happen enough from content creators (TV show writers I'm looking at you). She manages to do what she loved but also listens to her fans and has stayed relevant for so long by being smart about it.

Seth is a great interviewer, this was much better than Jimmy’s because he asked better, more thoughtful questions rather than just fake laughing and over-complimenting Taylor.

Lovely interview. She was a bit shy at first, so I thought she didn't have much to say. Then she got into it, and said some pretty insightful things. Also her response to the audience was so honest and immediate, touched me.

He is such a great interviewer. You can se how much respect he holds for her and never cuts her off- makes such a difference. Watched Jimmy Fallon interview her and it was like the most awkward jestery thing- I cringed the entire time 🤮
I've noticed that people (even if they're big successful stars) who tend to be a bit uncomfortable and shy in interviews seem to really feel safe and flourish being interviewed by Seth. I bet in a few years professors in communications classes will be analyzing his methods.... not realising its mostly kindness, respect and a sharp mind.

It's amazing how well it continues to build for the entire duration. 10 minutes is a long time to keep the song that good. She's absolutely amazing. She is such a supermodel! I developed a love for her music over the years.

nothing new is my favorite vault track from red, I first listened to it being 22 and going through a lot with work and heartbreaks and family issues and the line "how can a person know everything at 18 but nothing at 22" is a universal experience when you are fresh out of college and feel lost in what you should be doing. God I love this woman.
