WOW! I knew about the animosity between Shepard & Willis... But I never knew it required Geographic Consideration! Reminds me of the 'Game of Thrones' anecdote... where two of the cast members had been previously married & BOTH had it written in their contracts that they would never appear in a scene together.
Love your videos as always ENC. I was an avid Moonlighting watcher until the final season as well. I loved the show. There wasn’t anything like it on TV then. Suggestion: Have you done one on Square Pegs starring Sara Jessica Parker? I heard there was lots of drug use behind the scenes that led to the show’s cancellation. Thank you.
Moonlighting was such a pretty good show. The chemistry between Maddie and David was magical. They really gave Cheers' Sam and Diane a run for their money. The OG enemies to lovers on TV. It was a shame that the behind the scenes drama between Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis was the big reason that led to the show's unfortunate demise, but I've got nothing else to say. Well done, Ean, and thanks so much for taking my suggestion! Could've never been more happier than you are. Happy Holidays! 🎅 I have a super fun and interesting request for you. Can I please suggest you do a "5 Things You Didn't Know About..." video on the much loved 1987-91 ABC ensemble drama thirtysomething?
Thanks and you are welcome my friend! Glad you enjoyed it. I will have to think about thirtysomething. I was not a big fan of the show, but I could still do a list but it will be a bit.
Moonlighting was a great show! The first couple of seasons were the best! Shepherd and Willis had amazing chemistry and yet, in real life, they couldn't stand each other..... I remember reading about all the tension on that set. Breaking the fourth wall, bursting into song, improv dialogue, black and white episode....this show had it all! Unfortunately, After S3, the show began to unravel. Both Shepherd and Willis wanted out. The network tried to spin off the series for Ms Dipesto and Viola, but were unsuccessful.
Wow!!!! I never watched Moonlighting and I did not know they had such a big star on the show. I also did not know know the 2 main stars were bickering. I really did enjoy watching
Great video! I am a big fan of "Moonlighting". I have watched the show from beginning to end. I must also correct a mispronunciation in your dialogue. The creator/writer of the series is pronounced "Car-on", not "Carson". Fun Fact: The show was the first "dramedy" (comedy and drama) to be Meta. It had a lot of behind-the-scenes action within the story. That was my favorite part of the series.
Hi Ean! Just subscribed! Enjoy your appearances with Dave&Pat. I was especially touched after the Thanksgiving episode when you mentioned your testimony. I said it then and I say it now-- right there with you brother! So, Cybyl&Willis were the original social distancers
I remember reading articles in Tv Guide...years ago about all the animosity on the set of the show. I'd watched it Every week, back in the day even watched the episodes which were repeated, again and again! When the network announced that there would be a new episode, that was a Big deal! The 4th season was less than good The principal stars ( Shepherd and Willis were phoning in their performances.) The show became a victim of its own success. It was a great show. it unravelled fairly quickly... After S3, it stopped being fun. The show had imploded on itself.
@@retrocereal the show, indeed, was 1 of a kind. Nothing like it had been done before or since! The Tv movie was originally supposed to have Bill Murray and Jessica Lange as David and Maddie Lange turned it d

Technically MOONLIGHTING was a screwball comedy/ romantic comedy/ detective show within a one hour drama.
Got all that folks?
