I was a pianist many years ago. The first hymn that I played in church was “Fairest Lord Jesus.” My husband and I will be married for 25 years in January 2023. The night that we got married, we had the church choir circle around us as they sang this beautiful hymn as well as “Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee God of Glory.”

These hymns really make you realize how humble we should be to The Lord Jesus and sing only for his praise
My late dad used to take me with to church since I was 2...i enrolled in the Sunday school those days it was only for children that had started school. There I was amongst all the "big children" totally oblivious to the fact I shld not be there. Bless them all they accepted me. I learned all the hymns off by heart before I could read. I used to pretend I cld read and also hold the hymnal! Happy memories. Thank you!

Thank you for this extraordinary really beautiful congregational singing of my favorite hymn. Every time I hear this hymn played or. sung like this I'm reminded of where I was before I got saved where the Lord took me from but all he did my life the changes he made and it reminds me of why I'm at where I'm at today

Reminds me of my childhood at Houston’s First Baptist where they sung this often. I always loved this hymn most of all.

Beautifully played and sung. But I'm german and I have to say the german lyrics are a tad better than the english translation 😄
But in general, the english translations of german hymns are better than the german translations of english hymns.
Regardless of that, to God alone be all the glory!
The English is off target like whatever How Great Thou Art was originally.written

Have I gone back in time? Where are the drums and the boom-bang-crash-wallop worship groups, and the daughter of one of the prominent families leading; out of tune, with a microphone so one can’t hear anything else?
This is the wrong attitude towards Jesus hes not your lover. Not that you can hear a word.
Jesus is the Faithful and compassionate Groom and Humanity is like an unfaithful bribe. We constantly turn our backs on God, yet when chance and chaos takes over, we come back asking for forgiveness, and The Lord rejoices full of Glee! Ready to bear our hardship and lift our burden.
