Fun fact, the mechanic of turning surrendered cops to allies is a bit of a remnant of its full concept, specifically the use of an explosive vest. But due to the tonally very dark nature of the concept, what we got is on release's description of the skill of you having a silver tongue that is enough to persuade them. I think there are still remnants of the bomb threat from jokered cop lines like "Damn you for doing this" and "Okay... I'll do it..."
The day I knew to no longer take Payday 2 seriously was when I could run around at 200mph with 2 Desert Eagles and a pump action shotgun with the range of a sniper, get shot by 40+ officers simultaneously, take a swig of whiskey from my flask and be perfectly fine like it didn't even happen
3:40 From what I've heard, the reason why you can convert the enemy is because during earlier testing, you put some sort of bomb vest around them, and force them to fight with you. Because of how dark that was, nowadays, you can convert the enemy using magic yay
Haven't watched this channel in a bit but its so nice to see you guys using footage from people who are actually familiar with the game. Made this super entertaining
The "Joker" skill, which lets you convert capture police, guards, and mercenaries to fight for you, was always a pretty weird one that can't really justified outside of being a neat gameplay feature. The group of people I played with often joked that the Payday gang were "crime wizards" who weren't actually fighting off waves of identical cops, but magical constructs from the "Plane of Law" summoned by a Cop Wizard, and the joker skill was just magically overriding the cop wizard's control. Same reason why you can shout at people to heal them of grievous injuries, it's all just magic. Now I have heard, but I have no idea if this is true, that originally the way the Joker skill worked was that the Payday gang would place explosive vests on police they take hostage, forcing them to fight their fellow police against their will. But this was dropped for being too ****ed up even for a game about robbing banks, and decided to just leave it unexplained.

Payday actually has a feature like this, in which for every assault that goes by, they will get harder over time
Very interesting to hear people with actual experience talk about this stuff! :)
I'm pretty sure that only applies to the first 2-3 assaults, though. After that, it caps.

I just want us to take a minute and appreciate the fact that they started giving several tips for bank and armored vehicle robbers in a friendly and parental manner.
Robber: *Stretches* welp! Best to get on the ol' dusty tr-
Officer: AHT AHT!
"Ever since columbine, we've been taught: we do not wait for SWAT, we are going in"
Uvalde: "Well yes, but actually no"
Yeah everything Chris was saying Uvalde cops did not do
I love how they're casually giving us tips on how to rob a bank
How to rob anything really. The ex-bank robber even said it simply: the Three "GET"s
-Get in
-Get the money as fast as you can
-Get out
0:56 I want my lawyer
*laughs* that's wat they all say
Of course when an bad guy and a good guy meets😂😂😂
The tension in this video is hilarious
5:40 looks like Uvalde officer forgot something...
Imagine if they hadn’t caught the irl robber yet, and he just admitted it to the cop while reacting.
I mean, they can't do much without solid evidence. "I told you guys, but you wouldn't listen. So I guess I'm free to go."

Cops in Texas: but if we rush in who's gonna taze the parents of these dying kids
Oh don't worry, Texas and it's cops hate the Uvalde clowns just as much as the rest of the country.
14:16 I remember Larry Lawson talking about crews, and how he would basically have an agreement of no names shared or anything that could help you identify your teammates, and never use the same teammates twice, that way if things got sticky or if a teammate did something stupid or really bad, you knew that you/they were on your/their own and nobody had to die or go back for someone to keep them from snitching, especially if they did something, like, violent. Which was interesting
That was awesome, love the cheekiness of these guys together, I bet they have a lot in common (for better or worse), more with them please!
Chris and I will be working again together. 🥳

Its really cool to see how supportive they were of each other despite their conflicting backgrounds. The cop reacted in the best way he possibly could in not judging him for what he did in the past. Though there is the fact that its on camera, its still cool to see that they can still respect each other as frenemies.
i feel like this would be useful to me in the future
So you can help Banks prevent robberies?

Fact: the Armored Transport DLC is based of of a 90's movie called heat.
It’s crazy that these two can be in the same room and be so nice
This is a crossover I genuinely did not expect, haha.
Every joke Camden makes is just reminding me of my dad’s humor and it’s just too funny
Fun Fact: for newcomers the second bank is actually map ''Bank'' from csgo.
That wasn't fun. Tf2 is cooler

The day I knew to no longer take Payday 2 seriously was when I could run around at 200mph with 2 Desert Eagles and a pump action shotgun with the range of a sniper, get shot by 40+ officers simultaneously, take a swig of whiskey from my flask and be perfectly fine like it didn't even happen

that has to be awkward knowing your a bank robber sitting next to a whole police officer 😆😆😆same thing for the officer being with the bank robber
Next to a WHOLE police officer
3:40 From what I've heard, the reason why you can convert the enemy is because during earlier testing, you put some sort of bomb vest around them, and force them to fight with you.
Because of how dark that was, nowadays, you can convert the enemy using magic yay
5:25 that did not age very well.
No offense to Chris though, he's awesome
This was actually a REALLY nice crossover keep it up Gameology
Haven't watched this channel in a bit but its so nice to see you guys using footage from people who are actually familiar with the game. Made this super entertaining
I respect the officer and the bank robber having a peaceful time 🤣
I love how he is literally giving advice on how to rob a bank
yeah its been very useful
I'd like to imagine these two were friends playing cops & robbers when they were younger.
Shadow wizard money gang
It used to strap a bomb to the jokered guard
If I was a police officer and I saw a bank robber running around killing people with a giant spoon I am quitting my job.
