Face it, ATGames is a scam, too. Half-assed ports with half-assed audio, half-assed graphic capability, sluggish gameplay on their mobile versions, shitty manufacturing, etc.

On the AtGames Sega Genesis that I own, on the box it shows the arcade screenshots of the three Mortal Kombat games but when you play it, it's just the Genesis versions. I believe there was a bonafide idea at first, but it quickly became apparent that launching a console is far more complicated than anyone at Intellivision ever imagined. Tommy Tallarico has never even published an indie game, and he wanted to jump straight in to making a game system? Who thought that was going to work? When it became clear that no venture capitalist would fund the thing, it became all about dollar chasing to stay afloat, with Intellivision making bolder and bolder claims to attract someone, anyone, and making it "us vs them" to embolden his PR team of small youtuber hacks. Overpromise, underdeliver, mismanage, abuse of funds, everything that can go wrong, has gone wrong. And no, they can't use the pandemic as an excuse. The Atari VCS, the Playdate, the Evercade Vs, Switch OLED, Xbox and Playstation consoles all released during the pandemic. I sympathize with the investors and preorder customers, especially as they're all getting the silent treatment now, but can't help but slap my forehead at the small retro youtubers who were taken in by a charismatic salesman with a fancy car. Really guys? A ride in the Ferrari is all it took?
His Ferrari isn't even the best model. If he had a Dino...even then I wouldn't fall for it, I know a huckster, scammer, snake oil salesman, when I see one!
I literally just heard about this after coming across information for Earthworm Jim 4. I was really excited to hear that this series was getting a reboot but now it seems like they used an awesome show and games name to boost interest in this scam. Wow I remember when Tommy Tallarico was considered credible in the gaming industry.
Damn Tommy Tallarico really trashed his life’s work. He will only be remembered for this. Not Video Games Live or the music for Earthworm Jim, MDK and countless other masterpieces.
It may be hard to prove it was a purposeful scam and not just sheer incompetence on display. It would take interviews with the former C-Suite to see what they knew and when. Did they honestly believe they were getting a product out the door and just grasping at whatever straws they could because they didn't know how or was there never a real push to put out a product?
Definitely sheer incompetence. Nobody on their board has any clue of the manufacturing process I'm sure for electronic devices for one thing, and the crazy compensation for everyone working there which makes no sense because they believe they deserve it. The people who were actually working on making the OS and devices should be paid reasonably for their knowledge, but the board? Why?!?

A thing I was most curious about the Amico is who exactly was the system designed for? Designing a system to play retro arcade games, yet every single console and pc can do the exact same thing. Same bullcrap about pandering to nostalgia, yet older gamers have the indie scene, as well as other companies reviving old classics. Old hat, even if it was coming out, who the hell cares.

I think this really appealed to older dads of younger kids who hate the modern world (the type who say "you can't joke about anything anymore") and fell in love with the idea of forcing their kids to play on a system with only physical games and no downloads "like we used to". Myself and my Friend got out end of January / Early February. Refund was sent via PayPal. After the news broke that Tommy was no longer the CEO we were like WTF time to nope out.
Unfortunately I wasn't that lucky. Asked for a refund twice via email in March (no answer) and then disputed it through credit card company but it was 700+ day (back in 2020) so they couldn't dispute it.
Tommy decided to take the Souljaboy route to notoriety. He was big back in the day musically, then his talents started being needed less. So he used the video game industry to get people talking about Tommy Tallarico again. He never had any intention of releasing a console. And the first chance he hot, he jumped off the ship and left someone else in charge to take it in the fave. Hey, Tommy, Souljaboy is a joke. People ridicule him, not revere him. That's what you want to be?
I grew up with the Intellivision and I was excited for the Amico. I am so glad that I never pre-order. These crooks don't deserve any money. I that they are held accountable.
What should have been a simple retro mini console with the intellivision name slapped onto it snowballed into a complicated, over the top project. Shame for the folks out there that were really clamoring for one. I always root for the gamers out there. But this is something I think we all saw coming as far back as 2 years ago.
666 likes- Hellz Yeah! In other scam news, crypto values are plummeting, Matt Damon is in damage control mode and The LA Lakers arena is going back to the old Staples Center name LOL
Yeah, I think we're well past that event horizon. Even if its not technically a scam, and they really are just that incompetent, it almost doesn't even matter. The results are still gonna be the same.
All Intellivision has to show with the Amico is I would say 4 to 8 units that work. Maybe 4 games that are playable. Other then that its a big nothing burger scam.
Tommy is your typical snake oil salesman. 14:43 Asking them to be adults? I think that's a little much to be asking of Tommy and his gang. As far it becoming a scam goes, I think it became a scam a while ago. It became a scam after the 3rd time they tried to crowd fund and made only $58K. If you go back and watch the first video about you guys reporting on this it was pretty much "Tommy is a good guy, and I hope this succeeds, but i'm not sure it will." Nothing bad was said, but Tommy decided to be an asshole and everything bad that happens to him, he deserves worse. I hope he goes to federal prison here in the US or in Germany for fraud.
As long as we have capitalism, we will continue to have various forms of financial fraud. Money is just too valuable to only be made honestly. Big thanks to Pat and Ian for going after these unscrupulous capitalists.
Amico was a joke from the start!! He bashed the crap out of the VCS and yet it's on the shelves being sold lol..... The interface of the Amico is also the worse interface I have ever seen. It reminds me of websites from the late 90's early 2000's when people loved globes as buttons. What a joke and Tommy is such a narcissist and extremely rude person.... He couldn't accept any form criticism and would basically yell at you if you said something he didn't like during his live streams. Atari's game E.T. is something I'd buy first over the Amico piece of garbage.
When you first reported about it and got the "price wrong" I'm like why are try trying to ride the nostalgia. No one wanted this at all. The consoles wasn't needed.
If you google the amico they seem to have controlled bad press showing, it even has systems for sale from 2 different sites in europe on a panel to the right.
It's not so much they kept moving the goal posts but that the goal posts were on wheels. Eventually they even had to replace the wheels due to wear and tear.
I'm not sure if Ian was referring to my comment about StartEngine or someone else's, but StartEngine told me that Intellivision were the ones who cancelled the campaign. But they said that no money was in escrow and is only charged upon a successful campaign, so the "investors" were basically just putting numbers into the website on a promise that they'd pay up if the campaign was successful. Intellivision could have pulled the money they did raise, apparently, but didn't (probably because they'd have been sued by those investors if they did and had nothing to deliver).
I encourage you two to tighten the screws on the Amico team. I’m one of many who have politely asked for a refund and am getting completed radio silence.
I got the Atari VCS a while back and am soooo happy I picked the Atari console instead of the Intellivision Amico one. I hope there is a new Intellivision "Retro" console that includes all the oldies and goodies... if that came out, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

It's kinda sad since I would argue there is a market for something like the amino. It looked fun. Certainly not a primary system but something like a streaming box that played games that you could dip into and out of quickly... yeah, that'd be fun.

I give it a month that the first lawsuit starts I was saying to myself somehow there was going to be a lawsuit if this project didn't come to fruition
@@ladynikkie there cannot be lawsuits from investors because Intellivision is an LLC. Unless Suddesh Agarwal sues them for failing to pay him back his 600K loan.
Tommy Tallarico pissed away any goodwill he had the second he started jawjacking with the people who didn't like the product. Loved this dude for years and he started this shit. What a joke.
Cheers to 5 years of the Amico NOT coming out anytime soon, or ever.
.
.
I just pre ordered 100 of these with no money down. Did I just save the Amico?
Obvi
A very naive cast of characters gathered around Tommy.
I feel bad for the Intellivisionaries podcast guys on this. The Canadian was real mad at Pat n Ian a year or two ago. I wonder what he has to say now.
Sounds like rhe asshole team Rick Martel lead at the 1990 survivor series
Scam? I Am so surprised, not....
Just a casual gamer, and I don’t quite follow, but I love seeing Pat and Ian calling out bullshit!
Tommy ScamAmico sure loved driving that expensive sports car around that those dolts helped to pay for.
Damn, people that bought those "physical" release must not feel good today.
They gotta be worth at least a buck a piece in 25 years
Can’t wait for the real Victory Lap.
Just a reminder, we live in a world where people think they are Johnny Depp's friends because they watched a couple of movies he starred in.... Just saying,...
We need one of those Netflix documentaries on this console, it will be the wildest thing to watch and open peoples eyes about something that could possibly go under the radar if they are lucky.
Not sponsored , but Slope’s game room channel here on RUclips, just released a 4 hour incredible retrospective/documentary on this! It’s really interesting and well done.
Almost to the point they should aution off that "prototype" and just run with the money. I'm sure some gullible person will pay a pretty penny for that thing.
Smash JT just made a video saying that Ian's $30,000 health crowd-funding was a scam (saying 'where did the $30,000 go, why didn't you sell some of your high-priced games to help Ian's cost instead of crowd-funding, etc)...I figure you would want to know since it could be libel/defamation on JT's part and perhaps you and Ian could school him with facts and so forth.
So you just thought things were bad when that idiotic man-child was gone? This was the only good news tho
Can Dayzed Gaming/Hammock Man + Gaterooze and I come for the victory lap basement party :D
Make sure the A/C is working otherwise it will be a sweatfest like Bro had. 😂😂
I don't get invited?
What should have been a simple retro mini console with the intellivision name slapped onto it snowballed into a complicated, over the top project. Shame for the folks out there that were really clamoring for one. I always root for the gamers out there. But this is something I think we all saw coming as far back as 2 years ago.
It was a scam from the moment tommy claimed the million sprites thing. He claimed hw that didn't exist.
My thoughts exactly, this should have been a quick cash in mini console and left at that.
666 likes- Hellz Yeah! In other scam news, crypto values are plummeting, Matt Damon is in damage control mode and The LA Lakers arena is going back to the old Staples Center name LOL
Tommy scammed the $17 million and doesn't have ONE SINGLE AMICO RETAIL UNIT TO SHOW FOR IT 🤣
RetroCuck does another attack on Ian in his latest.
Pathetic.
Can't wait for the Netflix documentary to come out!
And the Hulu one as well. With the F-Jerry team producing it saying, “Why are we here again? We had nothing to do with this one.”
Yeah, I think we're well past that event horizon. Even if its not technically a scam, and they really are just that incompetent, it almost doesn't even matter. The results are still gonna be the same.
I’m just here for the saga of Ian v. ZadocPaet
It probably wasn't intended to be a scam but ended up turning into a scam in the end.
All Intellivision has to show with the Amico is I would say 4 to 8 units that work. Maybe 4 games that are playable. Other then that its a big nothing burger scam.
"Fucking playing with his balls."
Lol, goddamn. 😆
I didn’t know “Intellivision Amico” translated out to “Soon to be featured on Wha Happun”.
Now that's an episode I will be looking forward to see.
Can’t wait for the victory lap
I would absolutely fucking hate to be part of the Intellivision Amico team right now. Wow.
Team? There is no staff they are down to 4, TOMMY, phil, nick and john. Everyone else left or was let go
This is a sad subject but you guys are very entertaining. Nice work !
On the plus side, Tommy and Team just announced all preorder deposits will be refunded immediately.....in UST LUNA.
It's not so much they kept moving the goal posts but that the goal posts were on wheels. Eventually they even had to replace the wheels due to wear and tear.
I can’t believe we are all still talking about this shovelware console lol
Waitin on that Tommy call supercut x,D
I can't wait till Pat and Ian spill all the tea
I'm not sure if Ian was referring to my comment about StartEngine or someone else's, but StartEngine told me that Intellivision were the ones who cancelled the campaign.
But they said that no money was in escrow and is only charged upon a successful campaign, so the "investors" were basically just putting numbers into the website on a promise that they'd pay up if the campaign was successful. Intellivision could have pulled the money they did raise, apparently, but didn't (probably because they'd have been sued by those investors if they did and had nothing to deliver).
Ian has no idea who you are bro
I encourage you two to tighten the screws on the Amico team. I’m one of many who have politely asked for a refund and am getting completed radio silence.
"Fake it Till You Make It"
-said Tommy prolly
And so the house or cards comes crashing down, and what a glorious crash it is!
They aren't going to publicly apologize because then they can be legally held to knowingly robbing people. lol
The saga continues. Sweet Jesus give us strength!
Pat kudos for calling the hardcore cultist what they are, "Marks". 😂😂
Yo Ez, glad to see you're still around!
@@poboxchristmas380 Always man.
@@poboxchristmas380 who do you think Pats source is??? Hmmmmm
@@juliedunken1150 well, just remember you're the one with all of that type of top secret info that you can't reveal. I'm not important enough to care.
I got the Atari VCS a while back and am soooo happy I picked the Atari console instead of the Intellivision Amico one. I hope there is a new Intellivision "Retro" console that includes all the oldies and goodies... if that came out, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!
They were dead in the water when all there patents were rejected…no tech company would release hardware they can’t patent…common sense
Charles Ponzi would be proud.
Never there are still some losers holding on and willing to give more money, I say milk them more so they learn....
I feel like I've seen this topic for over 5 years now. Not a good sign for a new product.
2nd time wathcing this, Just rewatched most the coverage after seeing this the 13th and now back on the 16th. The victory lap man. I was hyped for it before this but now after watching the WHOLE thing over again, I have not been as hyped for something like this ever. I can not wait for this Victory lap.
The ride was worth it…. Made a ton of friends I’ll have for a lifetime… that’s better than any video game console in an crowded market with tons of options… 🤣
PS: That’s a Twitter quote from Retrobro
Lmao
The fool really is pathetic.
Yup, you guys were right all along...
It's kinda sad since I would argue there is a market for something like the amino. It looked fun. Certainly not a primary system but something like a streaming box that played games that you could dip into and out of quickly... yeah, that'd be fun.
The Amico the Fyre Festival of game consoles
Wake up babe, new CUPodcast Amico video just dropped
Tommy took all that money to buy that Richard Mille 😅
He gave more to Ed Hardy! 😆🤢
What time is it?
